Thanks Carb. Well here he is; my first member of the Evil Horde; Batros. Hope you like him. ;D
"Read a book!"
That's blood splatter on his cape. Yeah. (or maybe just where my clumsy ass got a fingerprint on it. You be the judge. )
I'm thinking of maybe painting the top middle a bit to make it look more like the Horde symbol. Thoughts?

Very nice collection. Wish I could find some Temple Guards. And that's alot of Russians. :-)

Thanks Eric. Have to say I kinda want to go for a more 200x-ish color sceme on this guy. But I'm sure the classic colors will win out. Just finished the sculpting work and added the final details before painting like the cowl. I really like the vampirish effect it has on him. The teeth are the tips of toothpicks. I tried sculpting them; but they were way too small for me to get to work.
I've also decided I'm going to be leaving the back of the cape red as I really like the idea of it looking like a flying Horde symbol in the sky. Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys. Dark Dragon I do plan on giving him a more Dracula-esque cowl that I found in my fodder bin and do have a few books from the Buffy line he'll be getting.
Okay. Finally had some time to customize after being back at work all week. As you can see my attempt to tan a vampire with dye failed. Kinda thought it would; but gave it a shot. His limbs as you can see are almost look black now; but the torso has a tannish tint to it. Ah well. :-\
So moving on; while I initially thought about sculpting the whole head from scratch like my other Motc customs so far; I saw this Kraven head and decided it was a better way to go. I haven't sculpted human features too often and would rather save myself the headache. Besides what other use would I ever have for batshit crazy Kraven? The chest harness and wings/cape were made using craft foam. Here's the backview. I'm probably going to end up painting the back of it black.
Now here's my favorite part about craft foam; it's pliable. ;D I'm hoping to use it for Shadow Weaver in the future too.
Well that's it for now. As always any comments/suggestions are appreciated.

That's from an older Q&A though when they weren't sure how popular the line would be. I'm sure if it continues to gain steam like it has been we will see Ram Man. They've already talked about increasing the amount of figures certain months.

That's awesome. I want one. Love the name The Wanderer for him as well.

Thanks and sorry about the lack of response guys. Just started working at my old job again; so haven't had as much internet time as usual.
DarkHorse is correct about the Puma.
Willie was a Homestead Padme Amidala w/ Mara Jade arms & head. The hair came from the little Temple of Doom Willie.
I took what're hopefully cleaer pics of everything. Will post them when I get a chance. Thanks again. :-)

Well I know they said they'll be reissuing him at some point; so maybe they wanted to get him back up there for that eventuality.

Hey there guys. I'm about to start work on my next He-Man figure; who is the evil member of The Horde; Batros. Now in keeping with the theme of MOTUC I want to make him a mixture of the old toy and the 200x design. Problem being; much like Lizard Man he had neither; which means I want to update him a little before making the custom. So here's what he looks like originally.
Now obviously he's a vampire and judging from the chest emblem a member of Hordak's Horde as well. In the episode he appeared in he stole all of Eternia's books to gain and destroy their knowledge. To this end I see him as the Horde's scout and scholar; being he seems to be the first member introduced. The following episode dealt with an invasion of Horde Lizardmen.
So going with those aspects in mind I came up with this quick sketch adding the glasses/goggles. I figure these would allow him "day-vision" and give him a touch of a scholarly look. I also gave him a longer more vampirish cape with a cloak effect to make him look a little more distinguished. Finally I gave sharpened his ears; because I couldn't get the round ones to not look funny. I also figured being he's a vampire which would make him pretty deadly by nature; that he didn't need a weapon.
So what do you think so far? Anything I should change/ tweak? Add or take away? All feedback is appreciated.

Hey there guys. It's been a while. Finished up the last of my Indy customs today. :-)
First up is the other German Mechanic; who I believe is based on DarkHorse's recipe.
And after a long hiatus; my last set of Temple of Doom (and Indy) figures. They are Chen, Club Obi-Wan Willie Scott; and Blumbertt's Soldier. As always thanks for lookinng. :-)

And the He-Man collection so far.
Up next for them will be Batros. (He-Man had better call in some backup.)

Hey there guys. This time around I made a minor MOTU player; Helios; King of the Lava People. I got the idea while pulling the fire off a pair of 12" Human Torches. He's a resculpted DCUC Black Manta and I gave him both a yellow and red wash. Thanks for looking.
How he looked in the cartoon.
My version of him. I gave him Faker's half-sword until I can find him one of his own.
(I really have this compulsion to give him red furry underwear. heh.)

Very cool. I have those goggles on mine too. :-)
-
And here he is. My Cringer figure. Thanks for looking. ;D
Those stripes are in all seriousness; the toughest thing I've ever had to paint. I don't recommend them.
And I just picked up the base for this guy...

A friend of mine sent this to me a few weeks back. My first thought was to turn it into Battle Cat w/ removeable armor and an alternate head so he could turn into Cringer. Being Mattel recently announced Battle Cat is on his way; I decided to just make Cringer instead. Here he is so far. Thanks for looking.

Yeah I agree. Two figures every month at $20 a pop is too many. Maybe if they did two 3 or 4 months out of the year it wouldn't be so bad. I'll buy them regardless; but would rather not have to shell out so much cash every single month.
And I agree. The quantity should be set to 4 or 5 at most. Nobody needs 10 Stratos figures.
-
I had planned on getting 3; but my dad had to order it being I didn't have internet access yesterday. So now 5 are coming. Lots of Stratos for me. lol.
As for the SDCC exclusive I think it's going to be the never before released character; and while personally I'm hoping for Marlena or Evilseed; my gut tells me it's Count Marzo.
-
I also decided to add a workable sheath for the dagger; mostly because the tail had a "stripe" etched into the sculpt where the black is.
And finally here he is on my MOTUC shelf. I currently have Cringer, Batros, Squange; and a certain evil Horde woman in the planning stages; so one of them should be next. Thanks for looking.

Hey there guys. Thanks for the comments. Moving back to NY delayed him a bit but here he is. I actually finished him yesterday morning; but had no internet access. Anyway I'm not sure if it's my current nostalgia for He-Man or the character itself; but this one was alot of fun to do.
Here he is sorta in the pose from the sketch. This is the first time I put a wash on a figure and kept it. One thing I learned the hard way is to in the future use craft foam for the He-Manesque belt and gauntlets. The number of times that lower left gauntlet broke... :

Thanks for the great feedback guys. :-) I really liked your suggestion of a dagger/knife DarkDragon so I switched the weapon. Also I won't be painting him a flat green. I agree that he'd look better with some texture to the paint and fit in better with my MOTUC collection too.
So being I've been waiting for the base to come to get started (and I'm an insomniac); I got inspired to sculpt him up. Here he is sorta in the pose I drew him in.
Here's a head on shot. The head, hands; and feet I made a bit oversized to match the original reference pic proportionwise better. The tunic I used craft foam for to maintain mobility. The real fur underoos are just there for a test. I kinda like them; though the final version will have black fur and cover his whole crotch region. I thought of sculpting it but this is pretty much the only way I can keep the leg articulation on him.
Here's a sideview. I figure every thief needs a man-bag to keep his loot so I added one. As you can see I haven't attached his tail yet; because while ol' Lizzie is with me in Indiana; his tail is in NY. :-\ But I'll attach it on Sunday once I've settled in. Then it's just a matter of painting him. Thoughts/suggestions? Thanks for looking.

Okay. So apparently Mattel doesn't have the rights to make any of the Filmation created Masters of the Universe characters. So I guess that gives me something else to do. ;D So even before making Orko and co.; one of the first characters I thought of doing was Lizard Man. He's one of the heroic warriors who made a few appearances in the show.
Well he's a little geeky looking; which is okay by me; but the MOTUC line is a blend between the old figures and the 200x designs; so I wanted to keep that aesthetic. Problem is Lizard Man never had a figure or an appearance in 200X. So with that in mind I tried to envision how the toy would look and how he'd look in the updated universe. Then smoosh them together. The result is the quick sketch I did below.
Keeping in the sword and sorcery theme and the fact he's nimble I see him as a Thief warrior so I added some touches like the tattered gloves and hat which isn't as prominent in the old cartoon. The whip also seemed a fitting weapon and gave Beast Man an adversary. The furry shorts, belt; and bracelets are to keep in Mattel's cheap factor of reusing parts. Below is the base I'll be using. Thanks to Titansfan for picking him up for me.
So any thoughts/suggestions on how I could improve the design? Anything I should add/remove? Thanks.

Just the statue.

Well I always found Stratos kinda lame anyway to be honest. And watching the old cartoons is certainly not helping his case any. Still I think his figure looks quite good for a Statos figure and will be ordering him to complete the set. Actually I'm even ordering an extra to make a custom Delora and Batros as well. I should really just hand Mattel my wallet.
MOTUC Batros Custom. wip. Suggestions Appeciated. :-)
