  1. Why can I still not find GI Joe 25th anniversary figures in stores? Will the rumored Mj. Bludd and Wild Bill figures be released anytime in the near future?
  2. Well, Hasbro has already set a precedent for following the original figures and not the art or cartoon appearances. For example, the CC from the 5 pack (the one with the battle helmet) the art work and the cartoon showed he had a white stripe down the middle of his helmet. The original CC figure did not, the 25th figure does not as well (I was kinda hoping he would oh well)...
  3. DING! DING! DING! We have a winner, folks! Truer words have never been spoken. Well what about those of us who have yet to see waves 1, 2, OR 3? If those cases I think the complaints are valid.
  4. Things have been very dry in the Tulsa area as far as GI Joe is concerned. We've finally started getting Transformers and Star Wars again but everywhere I've gone the Joe pegs are empty. Every store tells me they've got them on order, but nothing's come. This is rather frustrating because I know that these figs are available in other places but if not for online I'd have already missed out on waves 1,2, and 3! Man, Hasbro's distribution is FUBAR'd
  5. I'm stuck in a situation where Hasbro has pretty much left me no choice but to resort to the eBay scalpers. If I didn't I wouldn't have any because Hasbro doesn't seem to be shipping many of these to Tulsa. I haven't seen much 25th Anniversary stuff in stores here, I've had to get both 5 packs wave 1 and wave 2 all on-line. I'm holding off getting wave 3 hoping that Hasbro will get their act together, so far it's not looking good.
  6. Well after a treasure hunt today that included 2 Wal*Marts, a KMart, and 2 TRUs all I found was 3 five packs. A stocker at Wal*Mart did tell me they had 160 cases on order and had gotten none in. That's right... 160! I had to ask her to repeat the number I thought I had misunderstood her at first.
  7. I have experienced the same thing in Tulsa. Various visits to multiple stores (Wal*Mart, Target, TRU) at least once a week and all I have found are empty pegs where 25th anniversary Joes should be. I did find 1 SE and 1 SS at TRU last week but so far that's it, I haven't even SEEN 1 5 pack, I had to get both of mine off the web.
  8. All I know is that I've been collecting Hasbro products close to going on 12 years now and I never recall a shortage as severe as the one I am witnessing now. It seems too convienent to dismiss any correlation with what is going on with Mattel (although I admit that correlation does not equal causation). Still...
  9. In my area (Oklahoma) the toy isles of all the local stores have been, for all intents and purposes, barren. With all the Mattel products the reason is easily explained, many products have been recalled because of the lead paint issue. But the Hasbro product isles seem about as bare as those belonging to Mattel. That got me to thinking, it was right around the time that the Mattel paint story hit the news media that Transformers started disappearing from shelves. Now, GI Joe 25th anniversary figures are scarce, and new Star Wars stuff nearly as bad. I went to a local Walmart the other night and was stunned, GI Joe pegs were empty (and have been since they were put up), Star Wars pegs held just a small number of peg warmers, and the large Transformers section was a very lonely display indeed, nothing but empty pegs. Reading these boards I can see that this is not just a local thing, this seems to be happening everywhere and it seems to have started with the Mattel recalls. So that got me to thinking. What if this isn't "distribution problems" like Hasbro has recently cited. What if this is damage control? What if Hasbro has discovered similar quality problems as those plaguing Mattel and are attempting to quietly take care of the problem to attempt to save themselves from the costly massive recalls that Mattel is having to endure? This is pure speculation, of course, but it would explain a great deal. Whatever the cause, I would just like to see some toys back up on those darn pegs
  10. Here in Tulsa, OK I have seen the 25th anniversary stuff only once. At a TRU they had 1 Snake-Eyes and 1 SS and that was it. I grabbed both and haven't seen any more since. All stores have empty pegs. Haven't even seen any 5 packs had to get mine online.
