  1. I'm named after the brat from The Omen, so I kind of have to see this for shits and giggles...
  2. Monthlies... :: DMZ (DC/Vertigo) :: Fell (Image) :: X-Men (Marvel) (starting with #188 when Carey and Bachelo take over) Trade-waiting... :: Queen & Country (Oni) When Wildstorm relaunches its titles this Fall, I'll likely check out a few of those as well. But after how badly they fumbled their last initiative I won't be adding anything to my pull list until I see how it plays out and how long it goes before cancellations start happening.
  3. Lennon Murphy. Alternately: Lennon Murphy.
  4. Saw it Saturday afternoon with a buddy. I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't particularly impressed either. The action is better than the last two movies, but the plot is worse than the last two movies. So I guess it comes down to what you're looking for in the X flicks. Plenty of good stuff in there to keep most of the fans more or less content though, I think. Also plenty of stuff that leaves doors open for a fourth movie, should they decide to make one. I'm not sure if I'd rather have Singer or Ratner on a future X flick though. My personal preference between the two is Singer - I think he's the better talent and offers more to a plot-driven story. On the other hand, most of the plot threads of the first two movies were wrapped up in the third, so I'd be inclined to let Ratner keep it and see if he can build his own. Also, Ratner can bring the kicksplode. I'd give X3 a six or seven out of 10, but am interested in seeing where (if anywhere) the property goes...
  5. I figure we're the equivalent of God's 10th grade Science Fair project. I also believe we've more or less been on our own ever since. If there is a God, he's likely beyond anything we can comprehend. We're not made in his image and we're not meant to walk with him. As such, I find religion to be somewhat irrelevant. Though if people need something to believe in, so be it. I'd just as soon believe in myself and evolve within this life, rather than waiting and hoping on the unlikely possibility of a next life. And I could very well be completely wrong. I'll find out when the time comes.
  6. Picked up the first two issues as they came out and enjoyed them. Fell behind since then, but will likely catch up sooner or later. Morrison and Quitely are both favorites of mine, particularly when working together (Flex Mentallo, JLA: Earth 2, New X-Men, We3, All-Star Superman...)

  8. It depends on whether or not you trust your dentist. I'm getting the vibe that you don't, so maybe a second opinion would be a good idea. Though I have to wonder why you still bother with this dentist at all if you do not trust the person. I've had the same dentist for years. I trust her without question. She's quick, gentle and is well aware of my chemical tolerance, thus keeping plenty on hand in case I need a second or third needle over the course of a procedure. I never feel a thing. To me, that's a kickass dentist. Find yourself one like that.
  9. You have no idea how hard that made me laugh...
  10. A few months back I got word that someone from an online roleplaying group I used to be a part of (a V:tM game) died after taking a fall at work. This was never a person I was -really- close to, but was someone who I interacted with semi-regularly (even if only online) for a good couple of years. When his wife contacted me about it (she also used to be a member of the group), it definitely bothered me.

  12. Anybody remember Saturday Night Special? It was a sketch-comedy show meant to compete with Saturday Night Live in or around '96. It was produced by Roseanne Barr, so that should give you an idea of how successful it was (or not). It lasted several episodes. The sketches themselves were crap for the most part, but what was surprisingly high quality was the other entertainment. They had some kickass musical guests from that time (and stuff you weren't seeing on SNL), including Alice in Chains, Garbage (very first time I'd heard them), Tupac, etc. There was also a regularly featured dance troupe lead by a young Carmen Electra. Anywho, I want copies of the music stuff. I managed to find the Garbage performance on eMule, but it's shite quality and there doesn't seem to be anything else. So I was wondering if anybody might know where else I could find these? I'd take the entire episodes if I had to, and would not be opposed to buying a dvd or vhs of them. Short of the cry for help, feel free to discuss the show if you remember it...

  17. Transmetropolitan #8 - Another Cold Morning (Mary's Story)
  18. :: I Mother Earth's Scenery & Fish :: Hole's Live Through This and Celebrity Skin And this week I rediscovered Lo Fidelity All-Stars.
  19. I've heard a couple of the new songs now, and they're actually not bad. Not so great that they warrant a nine-year wait either, mind you... From the new material I've heard, it does sound as if Rose is partially picking up where the Illusion albums left off on some songs, and venturing into vaguely new territory on others. I'd be curious enough to pick up the final product if and when it does get released.
