  1. A three-song set from The Heavy at Paste Studios NYC is on this morning's playlist. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwIZ1I3i7sc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnyTvwjSTuU 1 and 2 of 3.
  2. Lyrics change, but the shilling remains. But you guys. Seriously... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OJsYTqHHZA Kinda had it in my head Vanilla Ice was either dead or in jail-- I dunno why. And in case you forgot the original, I got you... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEUaE2pUR_U
  3. Once upon a time, everyone was very close on here.
  4. All forums start up with a few people... maybe this one can restart with a few people?
  5. Sh!t. Dunno if they'd still even be checking in, but condolences to Amy's family.
  6. Oh good lord... I haven't been here in so long I actually still have a MySpace link in my signature.
  7. Wait... what? We're supposed to READ topics? Sh!t, I just randomly lock and/or delete one, issue warnings in the two directly below it and leave the rest alone... (I'm fired now, aren't I?)
  8. you're gonna die before the rest of us It would certainly appear that way...
  9. Just posted the first interview I've conducted for CNI in quite a while (actually the first since TNI's fledgeling comic book section became full-blown CNI, come to think of it)... Rick Veitch talks about his upcoming Vertgo series - Army@Love, current events, satire and art.
  10. :: Clerks 2 dvd, double disk set :: An Evening with Kevin Smith 2: Evening Harder dvd :: Dogma dvd, special edition :: Firefly complete series dvd set + Serenity dvd :: Masters of Horror: Joe Dante's Homecoming dvd :: a kickass homemade necklace (my personal favorite) :: money from mother (much needed, I might add) :: money from dad (my parents know me too well...) :: more chocolate than I could ever possibly eat :: something smokeable :: one of those Mag-lite weighted flashlights (this thing could light the abyss or crack a skull) And that be about it this year, unless I'm in for a surprise Christmas morning. But my family and friends are spread far this year, so the gift giving happened whenever the opportunities presented themselves. The only other thing I would really like is snow on Christmas morning...

    House

You're not supposed to like the cop. I vaguely recall an episode in the first season, with House giving a seminar to med students, where he uses his backstory as the base of a "hypothetical" case, to the point where even his own staff duck into the seminar to hear. His backstory is covered through-out the show, really, but I think that particular episode explains a lot, about the leg, the ex, etc. Unless I'm completely misremembering the entire thing...
  12. Mike Allred's Madman Comics is jumping from Dark Horse to Image in the new year, starting with a massive collection of previous series, and soon followed by a brand new monthly series... Release Interview Personally, I'm looking forward to this. It's been a while for Madman (with Allred spending much of his time the last several years doing X-Force, X-Statix, etc). The 852 page (!!!) Madman Gargantua is slated for a February release, with Madman Atomic Comics expected to begin in April. The new series is designed to be a jumping on point for new readers.
  13. Joe Kubert's is expensive. I don't know that it's any MORE expensive than other places in the US, as Joe's was the only one outside of Canada I looked at when I was considering art as my direction, but it's certainly no cheaper than other places. In the end I chose to chase after journalism at a local college instead anyway... It doesn't surprise me that the mail-in courses at Joe's were a bit of a letdown (whoever brought that up). If you're going to basically learn on your own, there are cheaper was to do it (buying books and absorbing info yourself to put into practice, or sitting in a coffee shop with a sketchpad and drawing the day away - free life drawing session). I'm of the opinion that if you're going to pay for schooling, it should be for a scenario where you have full access to your "instructors," otherwise there's very little added benefit to the extra money spent.
  14. Hey, if he doesn't, I just emptied out my ashtrays - I'm sure WE can work something out.
  15. As I said in the movie forum, I think this is a great choice. Not what I expected at all, but great none the less.
  16. There's only one Return....And that's Return of the Jedi! sorry my omage to Clerks 2 here :-D "It's three movies about WALKING!"
  17. Doesn't look like a billionaire playboy? He IS a billionaire playboy. What did you think one would look like? I like this choice. It's not one I would have come up with on my own, but I think it's pretty inspired now that I'm visualizing it - I now have a reason to care about an Iron Man flick.
  18. YES. One of my favorite places for pizza in the Toronto core was one that didn't even have delivery as an option. They were just a "mom 'n pop" type of place and strictly dine-in (though I guess you could order to go as well). Granted, they're no longer in business, and I'd imagine the lack of delivery (aka convenience for most) played a role in that fate. Still though, great pizza and also a great ambience. Many a date was brought there. Can't remember the name of the place for the life of me, but I'm off track now anyway... A word... I used to work in a Pizza Hut once upon a time. You don't want to order from there anyway. Trust me.
  19. For some reason "the pizza of promise" has me unable to stop giggling... Granted, this entire thread has been hilarious. Not intentionally, but I'll take what I can get. (And I think I'm going to order a pizza while I'm at it...)
  20. So when you order a pizza, ask for thin crust, light on the sauce and heavy on the cheese... Most places will accomodate you.
  21. It truly is. Here in Toronto, it seems that every pizza chain has their own version of a "New York style pizza" on the menu, and some are good (and some are terrible), but it's never going to be quite the same. The name is your hint. If you want to try real New York style pizza, go to New York sometime. It actually IS on my list of sh!t to do if I ever hit New York...
