  1. Though I stopped buying GI Joes, I may pick up the pack that has Lady Jaye in it. That looks like one awesome figure. Cheers.
  2. I could choose an album already out there to represent my life's soundtrack. Gary Numan's Exile. It's deep, it's dark, and it's got something immensely powerful to say about itself. It's both what I fear and what I aspire to be. It was also the first Gary Numan album I heard. Today he's my favorite musical artist, so clearly it had an effect. But you want me to take individual songs and make an album, don't you? That will be considerably harder, but I'll work on it. Cheers.
  3. You want me to just list three? You #$$###! Ah well, I'll try... Gary Numan - The Hybrid Sessions (My favorite album done by my favorite artist... Easy choice.) NIN - The Downward Spiral (An industrial masterpiece, and a total headtrip. I love it.) Pearl Jam - Ten (Still one of my all-time favorites, even after all of these years, so it deserves mention.) I'm leaving out a lot. But I guess the above would be my absolute top three. Cheers.
  4. As for what I'm getting... Wildcats 3.0 #13 Birds of Prey #58 Formerly Known as the Justice League #2 The Maxx Volume One TPB Epicurus the Sage TPB Sandman: Endless Nights HC Good stuff that month. Cheers.
  5. Don't know if anyone's posted these yet, so here they are. http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/030.../20/dcindex.htm Cheers.
  6. **Models his avatar for the audience.** Cheers.

    Evanescence...

Evanescence denouncing Christ is either complete bullshit and never really happened, or was completely taken out of context and twisted around for an excuse to lash out at the band. Given a lot of the lyrical content to their songs, I suspect that Evanescence's members are actually quite religious. (Not necessarily Christian, mind you, but religious none-the-less.) Cheers.
  8. Here's my take on the X right now... Warning: It's long. This also isn't directed at any of you in particular, it's something I posted on another message board. I have added a few items, however, so that it applies to this conversation as well. Morrison's run is nothing to be afraid of. It doesn't suck either. It's just a different perspective on the characters for a while. (It's already been said that after Morrison's three year run is over, so is that perspective, and the book will become more like the others again.) Morrison's perspective on the X covers a lot of areas as well... E is for Extinction looked at looked at a mutant holocaust scenario (what if a villain actually did slaughter people instead of just talking about it?), Imperial covered some sci-fi (the Shiar, Nano-Sentinels, the now disembodied villain from E), New Worlds looked at the mutant situation on a more global scale (the X-Corporation, the search for untapped mutant potential, the Genosha aftermath), Riot at Xavier asked the question: what happens when mutant children do what human children do and rebel? (hint: when mutant children rebel, run), And the current storyline, Murder at the Mansion is looking at the consequence of an X-Man murdering one of their own (the White Queen is apparently dead, unknown assailant, unknown reason, unknown consequence). Does any of that sound so bad? Does any of it sound like twists simply for the sake of twists? No. It sounds like a pretty continuous stream of events that cover a broad range of genres and events. This is Morrison's X-Men, and while it is a different perspective than what a lot of people might be used to, it's also a very strong perspective that's winning the book a lot of critical acclaim. Remember: Change is good. Did you really want to see the X-Men fight Generic Villain #471 for the 875764743th time? You won't find that here. Morrison is more interested in telling stories that haven't been told before, or at least putting a new spin on some stories that have been. (Such as the Nano-Sentinels, the recent return of the Phoenix, etc. Sentinels and Phoenix stories have been told before, but not like this.) The art... Okay, that got a bit horrid for a while. But no, I'm not talking about Quitely's art. Quitely's art is realistic, and his panel-to-panel storytelling is phenominal. Those that don't like Quitely's art will get no sympathy from me. The art that sucked was the fill-in art that had to be thrown together when Quitely failed to meet deadlines. Both Van Schiver and Kordey actually had to do full issues in only a week at some points. Poor guys, no wonder the art was attrocious. But then Quitely came back and finished off his run strong. Now Jiminez is doing the Mansion story, and doing a great job. Bachelo will be coming on for a story after that, followed by Jiminez again. And sooner or later friggin' Marc Silvestri himself will be coming back as well for a story. Does that not fix the problems with the art? What else is 'wrong' with the book according to it's nay-sayers? Right, the costumes. Folks, if you can accept leather in the movies, you can accept leather in the books for a little while. The spandex will return eventually, you know it will, so what's the problem? Cyclops still looks like Cyclops, the White Queen still looks like the White Queen, Wolverine is unmistakable nomatter what he's wearing, you could spot Xavier's bald head a mile away, Beast looks more feline but is still like the Henry you all know and love, and Jean just looks good in her leather slacks, turtleneck shirt, and trenchcoat. (She finally has a look that suits her as both a teacher and senior member of Xavier's staff. I'd say it's her best look in any era on any X-book.) So... Yes, New X-Men is a different kind of X-book. And yes, it may not be everybody's cup of tea. But have you given it a chance before you've passed judgement on it? If not, then do so. You might be surprised with what this book offers: Actual fresh stories from a different persective. Something to think about. Cheers.
  9. Spider-Man 2099 by Peter David and Rick Leonardi was actually quite good. Doom 2099 contains some early mainstream writing by Warren Ellis, which is quite cool to see. X-Men 2099... Meh, I never really got into this. X-Nation 2099 I believe was Humberto Ramos' very first professional comic work. Also cool to see. The rest of 2099... I never really bothered with the rest. Spider-Man 2099 is easily my favorite book from the line. Cheers.
  10. Superman: Red Son #1 - This is the kind of book that reminds me why I'm a Millar fan. Anyone who didn't pick this up needs to get themselves back to the LCS and do so now. That's hard for me to say too, because normally I hate anything Superman related. But this really is that good. Batman: Hush Vol.1 HC - Yes, I shelled out the cash for this. Now that I think about it, it's not as pricey when you consider what a pain in the ass it is to get the original issues around here. It would have cost me the same, maybe more. I haven't read this yet, but I am looking forward to it. New X-Men #140 - This Murder at the Mansion arc is continuing strong. I think it stands up there with my other favorite Morrison arcs on the book, E is for Extinction, and Riot@Xaviers. Beast's concern over Emma's fate and his determination (obsession?) to put her back together was touching, Bishop and Sage were interesting for a change, the story took a turn that even I didn't predict, and the brief moment with Jean/Phoenix left me dying to see how that particular sub-plot will play out. Awesome stuff. And not released this week, but picked up this week were the following... Kissing Chaos: Nonstop Beauty #'s 3 and 4 - No surprise here that I finally got around to finishing up my collection of this series. Arthur Dela Cruz's first Kissing Chaos series sucked me in and quite frankly impressed the #$## out of me. This second Kissing Chaos series is no different, and left me hopeful and craving for a third series. Pretty good haul this week, I'd say. Cheers.
  11. Meh... I have no complaints. Contract's done, and I finally have actual free time again, though most of that's spent offline, rather than on. I'm still online now more than I was a few months ago, though. Cheers.
  12. Normally I'm against malicious hacking. But this... This was pretty @##@@ funny. Cheers.
  13. Anywho, the latest is that apparently NWA-TNA has some interest in Jeff right now. (I have no idea of this is fact, but NWA-TNA has been picking up all the people WWE lets go lately, so it's certainly possible and fairly likely.) Given that the reason for Jeff's release was his admitted decline in passion for the industry, I'm not sure he'd even care if NWA-TNA was interested him. Then again, in NWA-TNA he'd only have to work one night a week. Maybe that would appeal to him. Cheers.
  14. Show Me How to Live and Hypnotize. Cheers.
  15. White... An arctic variant. Cheers.
  16. Well, that was... interesting. Anywho... I think what the original poster meant was "what are your top ten vehicles you'd like to SEE as Python Patrol vehicles." Personally, I only have 3... 1 - STUN 2 - ASP 3 - Conquest I think hasbro got the vehicles just right the first time with Python Patrol, so why screw with it? Hasbro should just re-release. If anything HAD to be added, I'd suggest a boat of some kind for Lamprey in the upcoming Python Patrol set. The Hydrofoil, maybe. Cheers.
  17. Plain black bat, all the way. The other one just looks ridiculous. Cheers.
  18. No. Tough Enough was a mistake from the get-go. Giving a contract to some green kid who happens to not suck as bad as other green kids for a few months, instead of giving that contract to an indie wrestler who's been paying his dues for years and waiting for a big break that he actually deserves... It's just wrong. And look how it turned out. Maven and Nidia will forever be bottom mid-carders, Nowinski managed to get in, but will likely forever be the same, Linda Miles was too boring to be kept on tv, and Jackie Gayda put on what was perhaps the worst match of last year. Oh yeah... Tough Enough's working out great. I'd say Vince should cut his friggin' losses. Cheers.

    Los Chihuahuas

Local indie wrestlers from whatever city they were in that night, most likely. Cheers.
  20. I think it's a shame that Jeff lost his passion for wrestling. When he first came in with Matt, he had the same spark that Matt did. Maybe even more so. He was exciting to watch, easy to get behind as a face, and just charismatic in general. Then he started showing up late... Every night. Then he started blowing all his moves... Every night. Then he just got weird with the friggin' paint. I am sad to see him go, I think it's a shame when anyone loses their passion for something they really had a chance at. But if he just wasn't cutting it anymore, which he wasn't, then I have to say 'good riddance'. Hopefully Matt fairs better in the long run. Cheers.
  21. Nope. Far as I'm concerned comics are for reading, not for choking away in plastic. Cheers.
