  1. For those who have a Yahoo ID at their disposal... (If you have a Yahoo email account, you have a Yahoo ID.) http://launch.yahoo.com/artist/default.asp...rtistID=1098798 Some goodies for Evanescence fans there, including the Bring Me To Life video, the brand new Going Under video, and a live video performance of Going Under as well. Good stuff, so check it out. Cheers.
  2. Favorite album: Unplugged. Favorite song(s): 'Would' and 'Killer Is Me'. Cheers.

  6. Stripperella is crap. The rest of TNN's 'adult cartoon' line-up isn't much better either. If I had to choose one that I think has some promise, I'd have to go with Gary the Rat. Cheers.
  7. National Lampoon's Animal House is the blueprint of what a comedy should be. National Lampoon's Van Wilder did a good job of recapturing the 'college comedy' style, but wasn't quite as good. Ah hell, pretty much anything National Lampoon does is comedy gold. Cheers.
  8. That's what I was thinking when I clicked on that auction as well. It really doesn't look like anything more than that to me at all, but apparently, it's funny. Ah well. Cheers.
  9. I think the line should continue as it is, moving forward. Focusing too much on the past gets redundant. However, I think it would be great if at some point they released a boxed set of new molds for the original characters. Or something like that. Basically something for collectors and nostalgia-addicts, while leaving the main line of figures unnaffected. Just my thoughts. Cheers.
  10. Heart Shaped Box or Come As You Are. Both would have to rank as the Nirvana songs that still and always will grab me. Cheers.
  11. Nothing Else Matters or Until It Sleeps. (Maybe I'm the only one that actually prefered a softer Metallica. I prefer music over smashing and screaming.) Just my thoughts. Cheers.
  12. Soundgarden absolutely gets my vote for favorite. I never liked Rage Against the Machine. I do like Audioslave a lot as well though. Cheers.
  13. Oh, here's the website, by the way... http://www.belowempty.com/Velvet-Revolver/index.php Or just use http://www.velvet-revolver.com and it will redirect you there. Cheers.
  14. That ended up being untrue. The band's name is Velvet Revolver. (Their Velvet Revolver website says so. ) As for what I think of them, well, "Set Me Free" was alright but didn't blow me away. I am quite curious to see more material from them though. Cheers.
  15. The first two Staind albums had a few songs that I liked. That was about it. This latest Staind album, however, is solid quality from beginning to end. It's some good #$##... Check it out. Cheers.
  16. I'm still working my way through "Story" by Robert Mckee. Anyone with even a passing interest in structured writing of any kind, especially scripts, needs a copy of this book. Cheers.
  17. Runaways is quite good and does show a lot of promise. It's also getting at least one TPB sometime in the near future, so those who miss this first storyarc but are interested will have an opportunity to catch up. Brian K. Vaughan is a strong writer, and some great work of his is being shown in this book. The art shines too. The subject matter may not end up being your thing. (It wasn't mine, I have to admit.) But again, the book is quality, and is at least worth checking out. Cheers.
  18. http://www.marvel.com/epic/ It's not fully active yet, but most of the information is there. Enough to keep you busy for a while and get you up to date, at least. Cheers.
  19. Breathe or something. You stated your opinion. I stated mine. I happened to disagree with you. Public forum and all that, y'know? Cheers.
  20. You're out of line. While I won't speak for the other interested parties writing Epic pitches, I for one am well aware of what the legalities of the situation are. Trust me, anything I write for Epic will be concepts and stories that I'm willing to part ways with. I wouldn't be looking to for work from Marvel at all if I wasn't aware and willing. This is also the way it is for virtually any company where pre-established characters and continuities come into play. Marvel. DC. CrossGen. Etc. It's all the same, and there isn't a professional out there unaware of this. I think you need to familiarize yourself with the term "Work For Hire" before calling others newbies. Epic IS a "Work For Hire" scenario, just like mainstream Marvel is. The only difference is that, with Epic, the potential playing field is a bit bigger, and creators have a bit more of an allowance of what they can do and who they can do it with. Original concepts are also a possibility at Epic, but only if you're willing to produce original concepts under the "Work For Hire" standard. Some people might be. Some people might not be. It's not a matter of people needing to wrap their "little brains" around anything, kid. It's a matter of those people making a choice as to whether or not Epic's set of rules works for them or not. Some stuff I'm in the process of writing will NEVER be pitched anywhere near Epic, Marvel, or whatever. But the two projects I'm writing with Epic in mind are being tailored for that. Cheers.
  21. Comics... Recently I've been re-reading the Kevin Smith Daredevil issues. (The Guardian Devil arc, issues 1-8 of the current series.) Fun Stuff there. Despite the fact that I'm quite annoyed with Kevin Smith taking on so much work that he simply fell behind deadline in EVERYTHING, I can't deny that the man can write a compelling story. Books... Since I've started writing scripts again, I've been looking through Robert McKee's book, "Story", again. There isn't a better book out there as far as cracking open the art of screen-writing goes. That's about it for me. I haven't had much time to read much else lately. Cheers.
  22. I've got two ideas I'm scripting right now. One limited series and one 90 page original graphic novel. I'm actually fairly confident the limited series will be approved, assuming I ever finish it. The GN might be better suited to regular Marvel, story-wise, so I'll probably submit it there too, but I keep leaning towards Epic with it because I can't help but remember the great old-school Epic GNs like Elektra Lives Again. It would be an honor to try and recapture that. But whatever, neither is complete yet, so we'll have to see. Cheers.

    Uh... Music Forum? Cheers.
  24. Personally, I adore this series. It's concepts are original and quite innovative as far as new directions in the comic genre go. However, a lot of people don't like this series, and I can completely understand why. Casey is telling a very 'slow-burn' type of story. Meaning the pacing is dragged out. On the upside, this allows for a lot of character interaction, and Casey truly does excel at that. On the downside, this cuts down the action and, to be blunt, very little is happening issue to issue. I stick with the series because I like what Casey's doing, and Nguyen's art is friggin' beautiful. I do get the feeling, however, that this will be one of those series that reads better in TPB format. My advice to someone looking to hop into this series would be the pick up the Brand Building TPB when it's out. Take the risk. After reading it, if you feel it's something you can get into and want to get into, then seek out more. If, however, the pacing turns you off as it has so many others, don't bother getting any more of the series, as that 'slow-burn' style is consistant through-out, and unlikely to change any time soon. It is worth that initial look, however. Cheers.
  25. Give it a chance. Maybe she'll impress you more with this set of characters. Gail's run starts with June's #56. Have you heard anything about trades for this series? I've been waiting for them too, but so far, to my knowledge, they've only collected the first storyarc. (Dark Side of the Street, collecting 1-4 and some Detective Comics shorts.) Dude... This has more than 'potential', I guarentee it. You know what this is, right? It's Giffen, DeMatteis, and Maguire, the original team that made the League huge during its better satire era in the late 80's and early 90's. I am greatly excited about this project, and can't wait to see what they do with what many consider to be their characters. (They didn't create them, but they did set the standard with them.) Cheers.
