  1. I finally took mine out of it's packaging last night. The figure itself is really nice (though I had some trouble standing him up). If you're careful, though, you can remove him from the packaging so that he'll go back in for display with no problem.
  2. While the story wasn't really what I was expecting, it was worth the wait compared to what could have been. For the longest time we were in danger of having Superman in black leather, Lex Luthor being an alien, flying kung-fu fights, mechanical spiders, a weird robot sidekick for Brainiac, a suit that had its own powers, Nic Cage as Superman, Chris Rock as Jimmy Olsen and too many more to name which would have completely destroyed the essence of what Superman is. In that sense, what Bryan Singer brought to the screen was a godsend. I remember sitting in the theater in 2006, hearing the John Williams theme and just about being brought to tears.
  3. Looks like she's officially passed on the role already.
  4. It was kind of weird that they had her put on silver bracelet things then pose like Wonder Woman before flying at the end.
  5. Well, at that price I only ended up buying two of them, but will go get the remaining when I get paid next time. I just have two birthdays to buy for this week so it wasn't going to work out that well.
  6. Yeah, all of the other figures in the normal zie are priced at around 15-16 each, which isn't terribly bad(and they constantly sell quite well), I just figured that with these being about half the size that DC would put some kind of memo on them to keep them in a more affordable range.
  7. So I went into my local comic shop the other day to pick up a set of Superman: Doomsday figures that I pre-ordered. After seeing prices that would make the whole set 30.00 - 40.00 online, that's what I was expecting to spend. So I go to pick them up, and they have them stickered at 14.99. Based on other finds on other boards, people are only paying 9.00 for them at the most. So the question is, aside from the pre-marked figures, do the comic shops have range control for teh prices on DC Direct? I can see maybe 1 or 2 dollars difference, but this was pretty ridiculous.
  8. Thanks for the tips. I t looks like the Evolution will be the winner. Now to just find one loose.
  9. From wha'ts been said, only some portions of the film (underwater scenes and the like) will be done with the motion-capture. The rest will remain live action. That's the word, but I'm still not going to be convinced this movie will see theaters until we see the first production photos. Remember how far along the Superman Vs. Batman was before it got pulled?
  10. In terms of the quality we've seen from the VOTC figures and the highly articulated 30th OTC collections, which Anakin figure ranks as the best one (i.e. not cluttered by an action feature or stuck pose)? I'm thinking the one from the Evolutions set, but I've never seen one out of the package to judge. Any thoughts?
  11. I'm kind of neutral on it. After seeing her action star abilities in Blade Trinity I just wasn't tremendously impressed. But since I'm also one of the ones who really wanted to see Morena Baccarin in the part, I'm biased.
  12. There are quite a few decent Super Powers fansites out there already, but I'd totally be on board for a site that would cover them up through DCUC.
  13. http://movieblog.ugo.com/index.php/moviebl...vies_storyline/ So if this holds true, we won't be seeing Hal Jordon live action...that just sucks.
  14. Not to mention the FH has the ball jointed head which is the definite must.
  15. I thought the film was pretty well done. The action scenes were great, and once I got through hearing Anne Heche coming out of Lois, I liked it a lot more. Again, though, the continuity between this and the animated series could have been better, but I did enjoy the previously mentioned nods they made with the space suit and the rocket. And I'll more than agree on the idea of evil Supe's skin being ripped off to reveal the cyborg version. It would have been perfect since he never appeared on the animated series. The only other problem I had (and this is in no fault to the movie) was hearing Bender from Futurama whenever the Toyman was talking. I just couldn't help but chuckle. Then when they showed that he killed a little girl, it got a little weird.
  16. I'll be picking it up at lunch. I'm really stoked about seeing it tonight.
  17. The only one that really resembles the actor is Aquaman (with Clark a close second). They don't look that bad, however. I was definitely hoping for a hooded / sunglasses version of Green Arrow, though.
  18. That sucks. The only action figures I saw in China were Ultraman and some Transformers movie toys.
  19. So these have already been found and are on Ebay already...and I have yet to find Two-Face......that just sucks.
  20. I'm actually pretty stoked about the Bruce and Nightwing just because I missed them the first time around. And of course the Catwoman and Clayface are just beautiful.
  21. Brilliant figure! People on Ebay seem to think so too
  22. I'm really kicking myself for selling my 13" GL figure last night....Having the two of them stand side-by side would have been beyond gorgeous. But I needed the money
