  1. I'm old and out of touch I guess? I've yet to see a movie in 3D because I think it's annoying and gives me a headache. Is it REALLY that big a deal with younger movie audiences? If so....it's not like it was invented just yesterday and they want to incorporate this newfangled audience attracting gimmick to their as yet unreleased movie at the last minute. Seems pretty lame to me, but like I referenced earlier "same sh@#......yadda yadda yadda".

Maybe it's a marketing tactic, to boost the sales of the expensive toys for the first month or so, making the fans think they're going to be cancelled and rare or something, so they go out and buy all of them up in a panic over it, and then they'll have another breaking news story that the movies been moved up to August? @hmmm@ @loll@

  2. This is a movie line, like all movie lines they are far less collector oriented. They are meant to sell to the masses, they are self-promoted cause of the movie, so retailers grab them up and parents supposedly buy them up. This is nothing new. As for price why would you expect them to be cheaper than any other figure line? Its true eventually they will likely go on discount but when have u ever seen a movie line sell cheaper in general? I guess I just don't get why you guys always act surprised by these things???? It's not a Hasbro thing it's industry thing and its been that way for as long as I can remember.

Why discourage any discussion at all...at this point? At least half a dozen folks are even discussing it. @loll@

  3. Here's something I have to ask. If these are suppose to be for kids, why do toy companies charge so much for them?

I'm guessing because Hasbro knows that the kids aren't buying them, mom and dad are, and if the kids don't know any better, then MOST of the parents buying them don't know any better, and the kind of standards us old collectors demand, don't matter as much with them?

  4. Good call! These worthless hunks-a-plastic junk will be available by the barrel fulls, for some time to come. For all the stuff I DID want, from waves past, that never hit the retail stores (or in severe limited quantities) that are going for ridiculous amounts on eBay or online stores now....I refuse to dish out the asking price for this stuff, until it gets down to around $2.99 (what it's worth in material and craftmanship) and that's not even a given. ;)

  5. All the drivers for the Retaliation stuff are like this. It's been one of the big issues since we started seeing stuff at TF.

To be honest...driver figures have been sh@# for a long while now, even with all the articulation points. The vehicles all look fairly decent, save for a few issues on cheap assembly and not very sturdy in certain points. I haven't been an ethusiastic Joe fan for a few years now, so I'm not up on the latest, groundbreaking news with much of it, but I did catch that the driver figures were sorely lacking with the Retaliation stuff, but I thought it was only the t-crotch thing and in the ankles and no double hinged knees. Guess I was a little (ignorantly) surprised by just how lame they really are. ^_^

  6. Just opened the package today, to give a quick look at the CC figure inside....

He's a t-crotch, with no other articulation on him. save for the ball neck. No elbow joints, no knee joints, no wrist or ankle articulation. Nice enough (detailed) figure, but HOLY SMOKES CRAPMAN.....I wasn't expecting this bad a deal.

I'll get the tank assembled and do some pics later (gotta go see MOM today ;) )

  7. Not bad for a season finale.

Lamest moment for me, The hooded wannabe Sith chick.

I felt the same way Thing! So far, the series has been full of backwardass, redneck, racist hilljacks in the country, living on a farm.....and suddenly it's going to shift (leap) to some futuristic type scenario, that might have taken place a few hundred years from now, in all this zombie apocalypse drama? Sort of like leaping from Night of the Living Dead....to Resident Evil Afterlife in the same movie and over but a short span of time.

  8. If this SS is so hard to find then why are there so many on Ebay and Amazon?

Because the scalpers who make a profit off exploiting peoples hobbies....bought them all up before us collectors could get to them. 500 different Storm Shadows over the years, that clog the shelves because they suck, and when Hasbro finally makes a half decent version of him worth having....SHORT PACK??? Scalpers came in their underdrawers on this one. <_<

  9. I can't even go back and pick up the ever so elusive Pursuit of Cobra General Clayton Hawk Abernathy figure for less than $29.95 off Amazon. That, along with a half dozen other figures that I never spotted on the shelf before going straight to secondary markets for an asinine price from there on. It's definitely a discouraging development for the hobby.

WTF when did that happen? I didn't think there were that many ROC figures fetching that kind of money. None of those were rare around me. Except Kamakura which I never saw one the pegs. But tons of everyone else. I even returned a bunch back then.

and this one? geez, I'm glad I bought 2 when they were cheap

I think he's talking about this Hawk:

A kick ass figure who was also not too common. Glad I picked him up the one and only time I saw him at retail.

Yep! That's the one! Along with Crazylegs, Jungle Viper, City Strike Destro....

  10. Went to Two Targets today and noticed the $7.99 sale price, just down from the $10.99 but only a few days ago. Would be cool, if not for the fact that Target now looks like Walmart in the Joe department....price tags and no Joes! @hmmm@

Ask then to check the back. You'd imagine they have stock to support the sale if they're gonna have one in the first place. You might find the Sci Fi wave.

    True!
