  1. @loll@ Just what I suspected......grab up what's out now kiddies, because it's limited and won't be back until early next year. Brilliant way to make crappy looking toys suddenly seem worth buying after all? Maybe Hasbro could throw us a bone and re-release a few of the POC and 30th annv waves that barely saw life at retail??
  2. I'm old and out of touch I guess? I've yet to see a movie in 3D because I think it's annoying and gives me a headache. Is it REALLY that big a deal with younger movie audiences? If so....it's not like it was invented just yesterday and they want to incorporate this newfangled audience attracting gimmick to their as yet unreleased movie at the last minute. Seems pretty lame to me, but like I referenced earlier "same sh@#......yadda yadda yadda". Maybe it's a marketing tactic, to boost the sales of the expensive toys for the first month or so, making the fans think they're going to be cancelled and rare or something, so they go out and buy all of them up in a panic over it, and then they'll have another breaking news story that the movies been moved up to August? @hmmm@ @loll@
  3. Why discourage any discussion at all...at this point? At least half a dozen folks are even discussing it. @loll@
  4. I'm guessing because Hasbro knows that the kids aren't buying them, mom and dad are, and if the kids don't know any better, then MOST of the parents buying them don't know any better, and the kind of standards us old collectors demand, don't matter as much with them?
  5. Good call! These worthless hunks-a-plastic junk will be available by the barrel fulls, for some time to come. For all the stuff I DID want, from waves past, that never hit the retail stores (or in severe limited quantities) that are going for ridiculous amounts on eBay or online stores now....I refuse to dish out the asking price for this stuff, until it gets down to around $2.99 (what it's worth in material and craftmanship) and that's not even a given.
  6. I wonder if Cobra Commander will be fully articulated when he rides this?
  7. Is that Firefly in Fonzies leather jacket?
  8. Ordered it off of Amazon and it came with the Ghost Hawk II. They shipped from EntertainmentEarth.
  9. Hit 4 DG's yesterday, and all 4 had 1 each of the figures. I grabbed the ones I wanted (minus CC & SS) and a couple extra Dukes and Cobra figures, for troop building.
  10. To be honest...driver figures have been sh@# for a long while now, even with all the articulation points. The vehicles all look fairly decent, save for a few issues on cheap assembly and not very sturdy in certain points. I haven't been an ethusiastic Joe fan for a few years now, so I'm not up on the latest, groundbreaking news with much of it, but I did catch that the driver figures were sorely lacking with the Retaliation stuff, but I thought it was only the t-crotch thing and in the ankles and no double hinged knees. Guess I was a little (ignorantly) surprised by just how lame they really are.
  11. Just opened the package today, to give a quick look at the CC figure inside.... He's a t-crotch, with no other articulation on him. save for the ball neck. No elbow joints, no knee joints, no wrist or ankle articulation. Nice enough (detailed) figure, but HOLY SMOKES CRAPMAN.....I wasn't expecting this bad a deal. I'll get the tank assembled and do some pics later (gotta go see MOM today )
  12. Looks like he should be guarding the Wicked Witch of the West's castle, to me. These color schemes are horrible.
  13. The color choices are terrible. DARK Gray would have been a little better, but the Primer Gray color is fugly, bland and when contrast to the Red trim and rusty colored boots and gloves??? Nasty!
  14. Great review and the figure looks cool enough to me. The missing extra articulation points are not a deal breaker for me. If it's $6.97 at retail...I'll buy!
  15. Unfortunately....5 is about the max age for kids to even want to play with action figures, before they get into video games and other interests.
  16. @loll@ I felt the same way Thing! So far, the series has been full of backwardass, redneck, racist hilljacks in the country, living on a farm.....and suddenly it's going to shift (leap) to some futuristic type scenario, that might have taken place a few hundred years from now, in all this zombie apocalypse drama? Sort of like leaping from Night of the Living Dead....to Resident Evil Afterlife in the same movie and over but a short span of time.
  17. Pissing matches with nerds on a toy sight.....or staying in touch with family and friends around the world on Facebook? @hmmm@ hmmmmmm? I think I know which is less "cool"......anybody else?
  18. Maybe we've all been collecting toys for so long, we've lost sight of the fact that they ARE still for children?? Very VERY small children. @loll@
  19. Because the scalpers who make a profit off exploiting peoples hobbies....bought them all up before us collectors could get to them. 500 different Storm Shadows over the years, that clog the shelves because they suck, and when Hasbro finally makes a half decent version of him worth having....SHORT PACK??? Scalpers came in their underdrawers on this one.
  20. WTF when did that happen? I didn't think there were that many ROC figures fetching that kind of money. None of those were rare around me. Except Kamakura which I never saw one the pegs. But tons of everyone else. I even returned a bunch back then. and this one? geez, I'm glad I bought 2 when they were cheap http://www.ebay.com/itm/G-I-Joe-RISE-OF-COBRA-RIPCORD-with-movie-head-cancel-loose-FREE-SHIPPMENT-/270927643098?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f148bc1da#ht_912wt_1165 I think he's talking about this Hawk: http://www.yojoe.com/action/11/agu/hawk6.shtml A kick ass figure who was also not too common. Glad I picked him up the one and only time I saw him at retail. Yep! That's the one! Along with Crazylegs, Jungle Viper, City Strike Destro....
  21. Ask then to check the back. You'd imagine they have stock to support the sale if they're gonna have one in the first place. You might find the Sci Fi wave. True!
  22. @loll@ Are they trying to tease us or torture us??
  23. Went to Two Targets today and noticed the $7.99 sale price, just down from the $10.99 but only a few days ago. Would be cool, if not for the fact that Target now looks like Walmart in the Joe department....price tags and no Joes! @hmmm@
