I'm just curious as to why everyone is all about that Hit and Run? The boxset one is pretty good....there are plenty of other figures (new characters) that haven't been updated and released yet?

Roadblock needs a hand job?

They mentioned to me and many others im sure that several of the figures could make it out sometime in one for or another. From what I gathered they were kinda trying to see if there was any interest in these. Even if we dont get all of them, it was pretty cool of hasbro to bring them so we could see what might have been.
Make them, then cancel them, then bring them to the convention to see if anyone might have really wanted them?
What a weird concept,huh?
Sort of like calling a dating service, they set you up with this...
You finally started your own on-line dating service?
Nice!
Is it www.grannysgivinggumhummersonfirstdate.com?

Then, right in the middle of having dinner with her, the dating service shows up with this....
and tell you how they had this one lined up for ya, but cancelled her at the last minute and now want to know if you would have liked her or not?

Very cool! I like it!

Just what I suspected......grab up what's out now kiddies, because it's limited and won't be back until early next year. Brilliant way to make crappy looking toys suddenly seem worth buying after all?
Maybe Hasbro could throw us a bone and re-release a few of the POC and 30th annv waves that barely saw life at retail??
I get the feeling those Dollar General repaints are supposed to be the "bone."
If so, they need to throw a few more.

actually, Channing Tatum was a stripper for about a year before becoming an actor. True story!
oh my. @hmmm@
Well, apparently that didn't disqualify him for the role of Duke in the first movie even.
-
Playing a stripper in a movie isn't really the same as actually being one. Unless the parents are taking their children to see both movies featuring Tatum, there shouldn't be a problem.
If they can cast Robert Downey Jr as Ironman, without all his extra "baggage" he brings (from his personal past) and not damage the PR aspect of the movie, I certainly wouldn't think this theory would hold much plausibility?

Get to work on that custom, Ya old fart.
That's my plan young whipper snapper!! I'm torn on just HOW to go about it? Make it like the Recon Sled in color scheme for the Joes? Leave it as is but add some stickers for the Joes...or leave it as is with some stickers for a COBRA vehicle? Pretty cool little vehicle nevertheless.
Get a second bat-fart. @lol@
One for Joe's in Recon Sled colors, One for Cobra in original color scheme.
What am I........DONALD TRUMP???
These babies are like twenty-one smack-a-roos, before tax! @smilepunch@
21 green backs? Damn.
In that case, Return that bat-turd.@smilepunch@
Still better than 95% of the crap Hasbro is putting out for G.I.Joe these days.....vehicle-wise.

I can see that. It would be a cool update
is the thing in the last pic the same as the first with added pieces? or are they different toylines?
It's all the same vehicle. Very cool on it's own actually.
-
Picked up a new Dark Knight Returns vehicle tonight, only because I thought it would make for a nice L.C.V. Recon Sled custom?
-
(lol) I knew VH would be along soon in this thread. I'm suprised it took you this long to chime it. @smilepunch@

Born in 1962 and received my first 12" G.I.Joe in '68 and was still a big fan when the commies banned the military aspect of Joe and went with the ADVENTURE TEAM line.
-
Just keep putting out some cool G.I.Joe action figures, and I'll be happy enough. This whole movie thing is just one continuous fiasco turned disaster. If I want to see G.I.Joe-like ACTION on screen, my money is on this...
-
I've got a better idea!
Send all the movie stuff back immediately, and let Hasbro make amends for the recall by re-issuing another round (or 2 or 3 or 4) of the previous waves (POC and 30th)?
-
Send them back with a case of Vaseline! {hint..hint}
-
Just got back from seeing BATTLESHIP and I thought it was a damn good flick. Who needs a G.I.Joe movie when we've got Expendables 2 coming out!!
-
I'm more or less just indifferent to any of this. I'm not disappointed, because it's not really that big a deal to me anymore. The movies haven't been of much interest to me, so a delay in it's release is no big thing. The whole action figure collecting aspect of it has being waning for several years now, between escalating price and increasing difficulty in finding (without some extra effort and expense involved) it has all diminished the enthusiasm over it. These days, it's just a matter of old fans (old friends) kicking around the latest development and disaster known as Hasbro's G.I.Joe line.
-
what the hell does "G.I. Joe is an ongoing consumer franchise and therefore there is merchandise available to consumers" mean ???
I take it this has nothing to do with the figures that are at Dollar General? I have about 15 DG stores in my area and not a single one has these figures. I even checked a store out of state at my Aunt's town and they don't have it. This merchandise that is supposed to be available to consumers just isn't available to Midwest consumers...
Maybe they mean there are still plenty of these out there?
-
...OH, sorry, y'all. Don't mind me. Just getting a list of vintage topics together. Gonna need to keep this place from turning into a ghost town.

I think you're already too late.
