  1. Agreed. He's going to look fine on the big screen. That said, this is NOT my Abomination. I'm still getting him because I need some villains but otherwise I'm still perfectly happy with my ML13 Abomination. He's perfect as far as I'm concerned.
  2. Cool. Guess I was being lazy and was looking for a "Coming Soon" section somewhere but you're right, toys aren't like movies with street dates. I've been spending too much time on comic and movie boards the last few days. @Spidey@
  3. Is there a specific section in TNI that collects official promo pics of future releases? For example, HML4, the IM movie figures and variants? I know that I can search the news, forums or look at ToyFair and SDCC pics for them but I was just curious if the official pics (with estimated release date info) can maybe be collected into a subsection of the database or pinned at the top of the forums. If this already exists and I missed it someone please educate me. .... during the slow months I need fast and easy access to pics that I can drool and ponder the possibilities over.
  4. Welcome! And thanks for the interesting tidbit. We're sure to find out more about this soon enough.
  5. Really? I'd like to see that. The one up in the first post is the only shot of him I've ever seen. Well since you obviously pulled the above image from Wizard, I would say you were looking in all the wrong places http://i.marvelousnews.com/g/index.php?mod...600&start=0 As for the figure itself, I think at least from the initial images we have seen, it is pretty dead on to the character it is based on, and the fact it's made with translucent plastic makes it pretty cool. Also though he orginated in the AOA Universe he later crossed over to the regular MU. When are you guys going to learn MN has all the pics you could possibly ever need? Well, upon seeing these images of Nemesis, I have to admit, he is spot on with the third illustration. It's just unfortunate that the the 3rd one is the least intimidating out of all of them and has disproportionate upper and lower halves of his body. Still a maybe in my book but he did gain up a notch because he is indeed comic accurate with one interpretation.
  6. With Toy Fair nearly upon us and the first wave of new figures of 2008 due to hit very soon, which line of Marvel figures are you most looking forward to? Try to limit yourself to your 3 most wanted lines.
  7. Really? I'd like to see that. The one up in the first post is the only shot of him I've ever seen.
  8. Well, 3 movies and 3 lines of figures later, what in your opinion is the best non-Spidey Movie figure? You basically have Green Goblin Doctor Octopus Sandman Venom New Goblin JJ Jameson Mary Jane and all of their variants.
  9. I finally got this figure and was going to post a big glowing review of ithere but then I found this online and the lazy man in me won out. Highly recommended figure, its everything you guys said. I'm glad I asked and you all vouched for its awesomeness.
  10. With the basic red and gold IM figure, Silver Centurion, War Machine and Mark II repaints due out soon, are you planning on getting all of them? Do you want Hasbro to make more repaints, a Stealth armor maybe? Personally for me, the Mark III and War Machine armors are the best and have a distinctive look to them that deserve a place on my shelf. The others are OK but really uninspired repaints. I do however think they will make great base figures for customs.
  11. I know this is a photo of an early proto, but is anyone else hoping for more details and articulation in the final product? Except for the translucent plastic it just looks so smooth and I don't know, plain?
  12. These Iron Man figs are looking sweet! The War Machine armor is the best repaint of the red and gold. It may replace my TB one on my shelf. Silver Centurion is disappointing though. With only very few mods they could have easily made it more comic accurate and given it a more distinctive look of its own. Titanium Man is nowhere near comic accurate, but the design and colors have won me over so I'll take it. Does anyone know if these are all going to be packaged as wave 1 releases? If so I'm preordering a case and saving myself the trouble of hunting these down.
  13. Hmm, when I started this thread, I didn't intend for it to become another TB VS Hasbro bash. I was only comparing the newer ML BAFs against DCUC BAFs. Hasbro BAFs: Annihilus Blob Brood Queen Sandman Ronan Mattel BAFs: Metamorpho Gorilla Grodd Solomon Grundy Articulation can be argued over what your preference is, but speaking only for myself, Mattel wins hands down in terms of paint apps. Regarding sculpt, I think Mattel has a little more detail in their BAFs but if Hasbro would improve their paints apps, they can bring out the details better in their BAFs. Bad paint jobs can really kill a well-sculpted figure.

  15. Here's the text to the Hulk Article, no pics: "Everything seems very low key surrounding the upcoming Incredibel Hulk movie, but if the toy line is anything to go by, it might actually be pretty good... I'm curious about the upcoming Hulk Movie. I mean, Edward Norton is a great, great actor and his casting surprised me. Surely he didn't have to stoop to a Hulk sequel. But the more I hear about the Hulk the more I'm thinking it might surprise (in a good way). Now I'd not seen the design of the Hulk. The design of the one in the Ang Lee movie bothered me no end. It was too luminous and the face just wasn't right. But if the new toys are anything to go by then one of my major objections to the old Ang Lee version has been corrected. Now I can't tell the difference between the various Hulk artists so I have no idea but they did look very like those Hulk protoypes that turned up a few weeks back and were all over the internet. Personally, for me they reminded me more of the Hulk from series 1 of ToyBiz's Marvel Legends, but then remember my limited Marvel knowledge means I know only a couple of different Hulk styles. One I was shown had a thunderclap feature and I presume that the other figures in the line have very similar action features. I did notice one that came with a 4" or so Edward Norton figure, and reminded me of the old Hulk Movie figures Hulk will also get some Superhero Squad figures. Now unfortunately Hasbro has a new brand manager and his Marvel knowledge is worse than mine but I did manage to inform him that the Hulk in the gladiatorial outfit was Planet Hulk. Yes, I know... me giving people advice on Marvel character names! I should have told him it was called Lomos (that joke will probably be only got by the Fwoosh guys). They also had the Hulk Legends figures on display, and these look particularly nice. They seemed oversized but that might have been because they were protoypes. So I asked names and no-one knew (I mean face it, if I have to tell someone the name of a character, you know we're in trouble here). So I made them grab the packaging and turn it around to try and match the figures up to names The ones on display were Hulk: the End, Wendigo and another strange character. The brand manager suggested I call him Orange Guy... I told him I didn't think that would wash with you guys but you lot have Nomad to thank as a late night IM with him helped identify him as Bi-Beast. There's more in the line but they weren't on display. Each of the figures comes with a part of Fing Fang Foom and the one they had on display (minus head) was over 12" tall (but again this might be an oversized protoype) And yes there's loads of other Hulk figures they were trying to demonstrate the action features for, but I think for most of our readers it'll be the Movie line (which you might think a little small as Hulk needs to be oversized) and definitely the Hulk Legends line which looked better quality than a lot of the Marvel Legends releases. " Foom only 12"???
  16. Man, amazing how much a good paintjob brings out a figure's sculpt. I keep forgetting how important paint is.
  17. Sweet, thanks for the pic. Hope that Mr. Freeze comes out sooner or later, its actually as sweet as people have been saying.
  18. Anyone have a pic of the Mr. Freeze repaint that was supposed to be released at SDCC last year? I've heard it mentioned a few times but haven't found a pic of it anywhere.
  19. It's ON. I just saw the DCUC Solomon Grundy BAF and I have to say, that's a challenge they have thrown down. It's made up of only 5 pieces and the sculpt/paint/articulation are well done. DCUC has markedly improved with each line in terms of their regular figures and BAFs. I hope Hasbro can rise up to this challenge. From various polls and boards I've been on, DCUC definitely has the momentum and fan buzz on its side for now. But I know Hasbro can step it up, it's taken a while but I've seen some improvements. I hope they can keep it up and keep ML a hot property. For now, this BAF is impressive. Not Sentinel-impressive, but impressive nonetheless.
  20. Wow, great timing for this thread! I'm in the exact same boat now. I'm thinking about getting the Apocalypse BAF but have reservations concerning the hip problems I read about. Was this only an issue for an early production run and later corrected or is this a problem for all blue Apocalypse BAFs?
  21. On EBay: From Fwoosh: Snap On Armor IM The thread also contains a few comparison shots of IM with other IM figs and Iron Spidey.
  22. Is there any color difference between the 2 Sandman releases from the Spidey Classics line? For some reason, the pictures I've seen of Sandman's extra hands on the blue card appear more yellow than the red card ones. Can anyone confirm this?
