You may be onto something. Could be that HASBRO doesn't want anyone to do a side-by-side comparison with comic figures done the way they SHOULD be done by MARVEL TOYS.
-
Oh geez, the knee-jerk reactions to everything........its amazing your leg hasn't flown off. Classifying my reaction as "knee-jerk" displays a complete lack of understanding of the situation since HASBRO took over. It must be nice being blissfully unaware that many, many collectors on this very board have expressed serious disenchantment since HASBRO started working on LEGENDS. I'm the first to admit that the negative reactions that were expressed prior to HML 1 were premature, and I even argued that HASBRO should be given the chance to prove their detractors wrong. Well, they've had their chance. Two (2) waves into their acquisition of the license, and here's what we have: 1. Wave 1: A horrendous Emma Frost (worse than any female ever done by TOY-BIZ), and terrible detailing and paint apps. The Iron-Man was waaaay too small, with a severely undersized head. And the detailing and paint-apps were sorely lacking. 2. Wave 2: Detailing and paint apps still horrendous, as is the articulation. In addition, unwanted X-3 characters are forced into the wave, which would be accceptable if they were well done. They weren't. 3. Distribution: Supposedly HASBRO's strength. What a friggin' joke...I'm lucky, but many have not been as fortunate. 4. Variants...these aren't real variants...just repaints. Which would be OK, if anyone could actually find the damn things...but they're MIA... 5. Wave 3: Late. It was originally slotted for July. Now it's October. Do you think that's a good thing?? 6. "Exclusives!" are repainted crap. The all-silver Wolverine has to be the stupidest idea I've seen in LEGENDS in a long time. 7. Movie Figs: In 5"-inch scale. Totally stupid. Total crap. 8. HULK Waves: Yeah, we're seeing some nice character concepts, but I'm turned-off by the cartoony sculpts. HASBRO has dropped the ball, and dropped it severely. LEGENDS NEVER sat on the pegs like this when TOY-BIZ was designing the figs. Sure, a few dull characters would, but overall, you rarely found entire WAVES just sitting on the shelves like Stinky Pete begging to be bought. And now we have the "non-event" at SDCC, where the most exciting news seems to be Stan Lee signing his LEGENDS figure (which is nothing more than Stan's head on a repainted Spidey fig...brilliant...) Even if they unveil more at SDCC, they've still got a long way to go to rectifty the mess they've made in 2007. Knee-jerk?? Sorry...you're dead wrong. It's a reasonable response from a loyal customer who's been screwed.

Ok, so who's ready to sell me a Yellowjacket variant figure.

One word: EBAY -
OCTOBER?!?!? The original plan was for July! That's almost 8 months between waves. That's worse than between ML 6 and ML 7!!! Way to go, HASBRO! Boy, I can really see why Marvel made the switch. I mean, if TOY-BIZ was still in control, we'd be expecting WAVE 18 any day now, and WAVES 19, 20, and 21 would be on full display at SDCC, along with loads of other goodies. Distribution, my a**! Half the folks on this board can't find HML 2, and the variants are nowhere, unless you're in Thailand. This has been a crap-year for collecting, and there's one reason why: HASBRO. HASBRO: You suck.

"Fat Dumpy ##$%$#ed Boozer". The obsession with Pro-Wrestling, and Toilet humor. It all adds up, now. 5th grade. I'm debating a 5th-grader. I should'a seen it.
-
Probably in the Fall. This will coincide with HASBRO's annnouncement that they are "revamping" the entire line. If the non-showing of LEGENDS at SDCC is any indication of where HASBRO is at with this line, then it's not a priority for them...
-
Maybe...then again, he may be all "hot-n-bothered" from watching Pro-Wrestling on TV... @loll@ OR he could be a fat dumpy ugly spazz... in reality Did you just say "fat dumpy ugly spazz" ??? That comment begs one question and one question only: Are you looking forward to starting the Fifth Grade this September? @loll@

If HASBRO does not show any MARVEL LEGENDS, and only shows their crappy movie figs, I would not be at all surprised.

Where Are The Marvel Legends in CANADA??
So No Tornato replied to Superwonderlantern's topic in Marvel
Shouldn't Canada (minus the French-speaking parts) just get it over with and join the USA? Better access to quality action figures is a good enough reason to become Americans, if you ask me. Besides...as an American, I'm sick of having to go through customs when I fly into Toronto...if it was part of the USA, my life would be a LOT easier... And you could get a REAL football franchise, from the NFL...again, that's a good deal if you ask me, And frankly, Cananda owes us...big time... ...you guys have yet to answer for Celine Dion, and we want the responsible people taken to task... @hmmm@ America owes us double back big time. Celine Dion is nothing compared to all the American ghetto rapper trash that flooded our culture. Now THAT needs to be taken to task. What?!?!? You don't like Hip-Hop??? You don't think that Kanye West is the second coming???? You don't groove to the beautiful music of Snoop-Dog, Daddy Yankee, or "Fifty-Cent"?? You don't think that Hip-Hop is an art-form equivalent to Opera, Jazz, and Mozart?!?!? You must be a RACIST!!!!!!! @loll@ -
Dang! No Marvel Legends, and a worthless new Prime Minister...what's happening to the U.K.?? (Which, BTW, is a country I lived in for a year and have deep affection for...so I'm not bashing it...)

Would you want that to happen? We are better off as separate nations, though you folks have waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better junk food. Hey, I'm all about EMPIRE AMERICA, so I'd take Mexico in a heart-beat. They've got great beaches, and the labor is dirt-cheap down there... Could we subjugate the masses?? That'd be fun, too... -
Damn, that sounds AWESOME!!!!! See, I told ya' they should have let TOY-BIZ keep the license!! Would the TOY-BIZ figs have also been trained to mix drinks?? That would've been COOL!!!

There is nothing "gay" about large, over-muscled men slathering themselves with oil and grappling in their underwear... ...Nothing! @loll@ Nor us there anything "gay" about grown men talking about toys on the internet all day long. BA-DA-BING!!! TOUCHE', Baby!!

LOL....I guess so....but I have to say that the prevailing party and it's "socialist" agenda have yet to let us in on their action figure plat form. But I will keep you posted....until then, I am off to enjoy some health care...lol And admit it...wouldn't the Candidate who actually had an "Action Figure Platform", regardless of Party affiliation, get you vote?? They'd get mine. -
...keep it goin'!

I'd love a NightHawk LEGEND, especially if he was in his classic 70's costume. -

Perhaps they were banned by Canada's socialist government??? Just a thought. ...could happen!! -
@loll@ This, from a guy whose avatar is a middle-aged, overly-steroidal guy doing a pelvic thrust... ...who shows a video of a half-naked guy on the toilet... ...who calls people ass-clowns... ...and who uses words like "biotch" and "arse" !!!! ("Biotch"?? Who says that...other than the gals on "Sex and the City"??) Can we say "fixation" ??? How 'bout "repressed" ?? @smilepunch@ PS...I thought I was on "Ignore" ?? Yeah, right!!!

That's easy...I'd call ML 14 and ML 15 freakin' AWESOME!!!! I got several Silver and Bronze-age figures I always wanted but never thought I'd get in ML 14 and ML 15... 1st Apperance Iron-Man, Baron Zemo, Luke Cage, Falcon, MoonKnight, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Modok BAF, Destroyer, two different Spiderwomans... yup...ML 14 and ML 15 were freakin' AWESOME!!!! ...Now what was your question again??? @loll@ Are you kidding me?! Why did we get Iron Man in four waves? (back to back to back, with an appearance in a Boxset and then in The Bro's inaugural wave!) Why are Spider Woman's hands so big? Why didn't they just sell Destroyer and leave TBIM as the variant? Couldn't they have put a Cap. Marvel in both the waves instead of right on top of one another? Same with Aracne!? WASP? PSYLOCKE? Luke Cage? (who should've been a modern variant!) Baron Zemo? You mean to tell me that FA ranks over Thunderbolts? Longshot & Psylocke were the only two figs who were not needing severe after market work Rose colored glasses have the ability to mask the smell of turds as well? You say "tomato", I say "tomah-to"... And NO, I'm not kidding you. Now, to answer your questions...we get lots of Iron-Mans because they sell...pure and simple. And the variety of costumes that appear in the comics for Iron-Man makes it a natural fit to do many, many figs... Why wasn't Destroyer the regular figure and Thorbuster Iron-Man the variant? See the above answer. It wouldn't make any sense at all to split the Captian Marvel's into 2 waves. They're basically the same figure, with different heads and paint-jobs. From a manufacturing and cost perspective, it's logical to do them all at once. Take a course in Manufacturing & Productions and you'll understand why. I'm not sure how to answer "WASP? PSYLOCKE? Luke Cage? (who should've been a modern variant!)", because I'm not sure what you're trying to say. And "YES", in my opinion, Baron Zemo ranks above the Thunderbolts, as does any great Silver or Bronze Age character. Personally, I couldn't care less if any of the Thunderbolts are ever made into LEGENDS... ...I guess it's all a matter of perspective, right? #US1#

...You mean "gay" like half-naked, sweaty, overly-steroidal guys wrestling with each other, or some other kind of "gay"?? @loll@ Hmmm...you may be right. Maybe he meant that kind of gay?? @hmmm@
