  1. He's not the worst figure in the world, but he ain't nuthin' special, neither.

I wish I didn't have to buy it to build the Annihilus, but that's life, I guess.

Bummer. I never liked the ML 4 Beast...waaaaay too big, IMO. Now this. Oh well...

  2. Hmmm.

Dull green costume with a "splash" of yellow.

    Fair-skinned...like an Irishman...with reddish-blonde hair.

Mouth open in a sonic scream.

I dunno. Looks like Banshee to me. I'll buy it.

Emma is horrible, but this one ain't really that bad (except for the missing collar).

Seems to me that some folks just WANT to hate HASBRO, and conveniently forget the many, many screw-ups and complaints about Toy-Biz during waves 1-16.

  3. $11 is still too much for Jigsaw.

(This Punisher would be put in a wooden box, double-tapped, with coins in his eyes by the kick ass ML4-Punisher, just because he didn't like his ugly face.)

No way. THis is the REAL Punisher, as he looked in his first appearance. He'd eat ML 4 Punisher's guts, and ask for seconds!

  4. Depends.

Right now, I'm still buying the complete waves to get the BAF. I really want the Annihilus. The Blob - not so much, especially since the new pics don't look nearly as good as the ones from SDCC.

Since the BAFs are small now anyway, I wouldn't mind if they ditched them altogether. I'm hoping that HASBRO will be smart and release a future wave with the "Henchmen" figs that Toy-Biz was planning to do.

In summation...I'm still on board, unless quality and character selection take a nosedive when HASBRO is fully responsible for the Waves (my understanding is that Waves 1-3 were all planned by TB).

  5. Does anyone have a pic of how Emma compares to Jean, Storm, and Rogue? she looks really skinny- probably makes the Jean/Carol mold look fat...

I have all the comparison shots you need on the second page of the gallery, here is the link: http://i.toynewsi.com/g/index.php?mode=alb...st&start=20

Good grief!!! She's tiny! And her head is the size of a pea!

What garbage. She's coming out of the box, and into storage. No display for this HOC.

This is the first ML Wave where I've looked forward to the BAF more than the figs...

  6. I can't stand this character, so I really wasn't that bothered by the pics we've been seeing since SDCC.

But...having said that...this is, IMO, a real waste of an opportunity for HASBRO on their debut ML wave. Yes, I know that they inherited the sculpts, but they obviously tweaked them, and this one could have used a lot more tweaking.

Put plainly, even though I don't personally like the character, she's supposed to be HOT! Done correctly, this would have been a very nice, HOT figure. As it is, she's butt-ugly..."plain" at best...Her hair is weird, and her face? Blech!

She was alsways destined for my storage bin anyway, but I feel for the guys who are die-hard X-Men and Astonishing X-Men fans...you got gyped.

  7. Ultimate Sabretooth. He looks friggin' stupid.

Dude, I choose Wasp (See Below). She looks like she is finally going to snap due to all of the abuse Hank has given her over the last 40 years. Look at that gaze! (Quivers)

The scary thing is that I had a boss that looked EXACTLY like her...

She had visable joint hinges and dressed like the Monarch? What business are you in?

No to the costume, but yes to the hair, the vapid, empty look on her face, and the long, spindly body...its freakin' me out, actually...

  8. Ultimate Sabretooth. He looks friggin' stupid.

  9. I guarantee that if you stop looking for it, it will turn-up where you least expect it.

Put it out of your mind for a day or two, and then "voila", you'll see it, and you'll say "Oh, yeah! I remember putting it there!"

    Good luck.

  10. Yea, I agree with you there. The FF is a family with a specific roster, and not a revolving door team like the avengers or the x men. Temps may come and go, but the FF are the FF. I am however plesently surprised to see the Thing on the team and at the forefront(leader?). Here is an article I saw on some message boards last night to shed some extra light on this.

by Dwayne McDuffie & Paul Pelletier

Cover by Michael Turner! In the aftermath of “Civil War” comes “Reconstruction,” the beginning of a stunning new era of fantastic adventure! With Reed and Sue taking a leave to work out their marital problems, it’s up to Ben and Johnny — and two new auxiliary team members — to carry on the fight!

    32pgs, FC..........$2.99

They took it down shortly after, but I got the scoop first.

Actually, the FF has had a "revolving-door" membership since the 1960's.

Crystal (from the Inhumans) filled-in for Sue after Sue gave birth to Franklin (yes, Franklin was born in the 60's and SHOULD be pushing 40 by now...but in "Marvel-Time", he's still a toddler...). This change to Crystal lasted for at least a year. Of course, this was the 1960's, when the idea of a woman abandoning her work for a baby wasn't "shocking" to our PC sensisbilities.

In the 1970's, Crystal's sister Medusa filled-in for Sue for several issues, and uber-babe amazon-warrior Thundra (I would LOVE a Thundra-Legend!) even filled-in for Ben Grimm a few times. Ben took another hiatus from the team in '76, and Luke Cage joined the team for about 5-6 issues (although he never got a powder-blue, open-neck pirate shirt with a big #4 on it...bummer!).

In the 80's, Ms. Marvel was a member of the FF for a long time (I wasn't reading in the 80's, so I'm vague on details), as was She-Hulk.

So it's not actually a new thing. In general, I'm not against it, I just don't like the proposed line-up.

  11. I'm guessing all will be revealed in FEB at TOY FAIR. That will be our first real look at true HASBRO Legends. To my knowledge, Waves 1 and 2 are actually Toy-Biz-planned waves picked up by HASBRO. This may also be true of Wave 3 (anyone know for sure?).

HASBRO should reveal Wave 3, as well as (hopefully) some of a "Wave 4" and (maybe) "Wave 5" at TOY-FAIR. Then we'll know for sure if the line will live or die. I'm guessing it will live. I haven't been blown away by what I've seen so far, especially from the wretched-looking Jean Grey, but TOY-BIZ did their fair share of clunkers, too (pretty much all of the SMC lines except for the villains, Scarlet Witch, over--size Bishop and Sinister, tiny l'il AoA Sabretooth, minstrel-show Luke Cage and his deformed hand, the scarcity of ML 6 and ML 7 figs, wolverines ad-nauseum, etc, etc...).

Hopefully, HASBRO can eliminate distribution problems and quality-control issues. If they can do that, and produce a nice variety of figs, I think we'll be fine.

  12. Don't blame HASBRO for Toy-Biz's screw-ups (and there were many screw-ups...paint apps, floppy joints, poorly constructed torsos, where do I start?).

If there's a market for these figures as you describe them, then perhaps HASBRO will consider revising/releasing them. Otherwise, it's not likely.

Sorry. Don't mean to be harsh, but there it is.
