  1. Nice one! I hope this lifts off...I think it would be fun.
  2. Well, off the top of my head. Another Miyazaki film is My Neighbor Totoro. Outlaw Star is kinda like Cowboy Bebop. Both are space action shows with bounty hunter/wiseass characters in charge. It is available in three 2-DVD sets or as a box set with all three sets together. From Bandai. I've read Sorcerer Hunters is pretty good and entertaining if you like Those Who Hunt Elves. It's on four DVDs from ADV. Metropolis is always a good movie to pick up. Neon Genesis Evangelion is a personal favorite. But this is just a plug for my show! 8 DVDs or as the Perfect Collection box set from ADV. I hope this helps a bit.
  3. Why don't we start up a anime tourney? We could list over fav characters anywhere and pit them against each other in a popularity contest, kinda like the ones that are happening in the TF board! First 24 characters I'll take. I'll pit them 1 vs 24, 2 vs 23, etc. etc. Eventually it'll be a three way battle for supremacy! I'll go: 1. Soultaker
  4. So, what type of anime do you like? I'm more of a scifi/mecha kinda guy, minus the Gundam, for now at least. I'm getting more interested in the horror types too. Any suggestions?
  5. I like it because of a couple of reasons. 1. Cool designs 2. Direction was different. Some static shots were awesome, but you could also write this off as the studio running low on funds. 3. It was an emtional roller coaster. Each episode revealed some more of this insane plot. 4. Complete downer, which is something different. I could discuss it more...I'd love to, but I don't want to turn this into a spoiler post.
  6. Update: Wow! Apparently a little after I posted the previous post, www.animeondvd.com reports a street date of March 25, 2003 for RahXephon!! Awesome!
  7. Cool packaging, if anything else. The pictures are rather tiny to give my total opinion, but I like the idea.
  8. I may pick up Warsman. The original Japanese one was way cool looking, but way too expensive!
  9. Update: 1 Can't buy a thrill - 2 Fragile - Sting 3 Keep me hanging on 4 Machine Head - Bush 5 Rough and ready 6 Get it on - T. Rex (?) 7 Look at yourself 8 Fireball - Deep Purple 9 My Nation Underground - 10 Woke Up With A Monster - Cheap Trick 11 Sheer Heart Attack 12 Made In Japan - Buck Owens 13 Atom Heart Mother - Pink Floyd 14 Shock Treatment 15 Minute By Minute - Doobie Brothers 16 I Surrender - Bee Gees 17 Moving Waves - Focus (?) 18 We Built This City - Starship 19 Are You Experienced? - Jimi Hendrix 20 One Of These Nights - Eagles 21 Close To The Edge - Yes 22 Physical Grafitti - Led Zeppelin 23 Hydra - Toto 24 Light My Fire - The Doors 25 Walking on the Moon - The Police 26 Still Alive and Well - Edgar Winter Still some left!!
  10. Update: www.advfilms.com has a quick link for a quick explanation of RahXephon on the lower left. Pretty cool. I bet it'll be available next spring!!!
  11. YEAH!! I started watching Excel Saga DVD 3 last night, and was happy to discover brand new ADV trailers!!! I was getting tired of seeing Gasaraki and Getter Robo over and over. The new ones are for: Colorful - no clue what I was watching, it was all colors and weirdness with live footage mixed in and some fanservice with ugly dudes over-reating...not kidding. The Samurai - looks like a samuria goes to school and makes friends, from 1987 Noir - very cool, supposed to be a spy anime with to deadly female assassins as the main characters. i wasn't sure if the sound on it was messed up though or is is supoosed to be herky-jerky like it was. I forgot the other three. On the Chance Pop Sessions preview disc for Newtype USA #2, there were some new trailers there as well. Most importantly, RahXephon. No clue what it really is, but it looks amazing with some insane mecha and/or ship designs....and I like the name too. Any othe rnew trailers out there from other companies?
  12. The demo disc of the latest Official Playstation Magazine (War of the Monsters cover) has a movie for the game. FYI.
  13. Neon Genesis Evangelion and The Soultaker
  14. They're cool. But like a lot of fans and current Bohrak owners, it's not that different. I really dig the new claws though, they look more menacing.
  15. That's pretty crazy. It's from one of the folks who runs www.bzpower.com. I guess she doesn't want it anymore or something.
  16. I think I'm lazy when it comes to the dubs. I can appreciate the original work, but I'd rather stare at the art then concentrate on keeping with the subtitles. Ninja Scroll is on my wish list or must buy list, depending you I talk to. I think Best Buy had it for $17.99 or so, but I haven't seen it recently.
  17. How is Tenchi? I've only seen a couple of episodes on Cartoon Network.
  18. Destructive games and driving ex. Twisted Metal titles GTA3 (VC for Xmas!) Devil May Cry Onimusha Res Evil titles etc.
  19. The game is definitely sweet. I rented it a while ago and was blasting everything. Unfortunatel I couldn't get past that one huge command pod with the legs (Shard or something...) before I had to return it.
  20. So do you rent or own your anime? And if you own, what do you have? I own partly because it's cool, and because the rental places around here suck with the anime. And for some reason, I love the design of the dvd cases. I get a kick out of stacks of them! What I gots is: Neon Genesis Evangelion Perfect Collection (DVD) Neon Genesis Evangelion (all vhs) Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death + Rebirth (bootleg vhs) Neon Genesis Evangelion: EoE (bootleg vhs) Ghost in the Shell movie (vhs) Bubblegum Crisis 2040 Perfect Collection (DVD) Blue Seed Perfect Collection (DVD) Cowboy Bebop Complete Sessions Art Box Set (DVD) Vision of Escaflowne Art Box Set (DVD) Big O Vols 1-4 (DVD) Outlaw Star Vols 1-3 (DVD) Soultaker Vols 1-3 (DVD) Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust (DVD) Spriggan (DVD) Metropolis (DVD) Gasaraki Perfect Collection (DVD) X Vols 1-2 and Box (DVD) Hellsing Vols 1-3 and Box and Bloodbag!!! (DVD) Excel Saga Vols 1-2 (DVD) Locke the Superman (vhs...soon) Two notes: 1. New job allows me to blow extra cash for now. 2. I like ADV!!!
