ToyFarce News: "One Last Time..." McFarlane Toys Announces One Of Their Final DC Multiverse Waves, with Only Batman Figures

After years of collectors joking that McFarlane Toys only makes Batman figures, the company has decided to celebrate the final months of its DC license the only way it knows how: by announcing yet another wave consisting almost entirely of Batman. ToyFarce investigated...

The newly revealed wave includes 5 different Batman figures, prompting collectors worldwide to collectively whisper "one last time..." while pre-ordering them anyway: "This feels emotional..." said a DC collector while rearranging the 74 McFarlane Toys Batman figures already on his shelf. "It's like watching a legendary band play their greatest hits before retiring. Sure, we complained for years, but seeing that much Batman together again... it just feels right."

Since acquiring the DC license in 2020, McFarlane Toys has become famous for its endless stream of Batman variants, including classic Batman, future Batman, vampire Batman, armored Batman, glowing Batman, battle-damaged Batman, good Batman, evil Batman, Jokerized Batman and several Batman figures that collectors are still trying to identify.

Over time, the company had seemingly reduced the number of Dark Knight releases, occasionally experimenting with lesser-known DC characters. Some collectors even believed McFarlane Toys had finally moved beyond its dependance on Batman. Those hopes were immediately crushed this week.

"I saw the reveals and started laughing" said another toy collector. "Not because they were bad, but because it genuinely felt like McFarlane Toys remembered the contract was ending and screamed 'QUICK, RELEASE MORE BATMAN!'"

According to sources, several DC characters were originally considered for the assortment before being replaced at the last minute by slightly different versions of Batman standing in slightly different poses: "At one point there was apparently a Green Lantern" said one anonymous source. "But then someone asked: 'Could this be a Batman instead?' and the rest is history."

At press time, rumors suggested McFarlane Toys still had enough time left on the license for at least 14 more Batman reveals.

You know how sometimes these days you read the title to a real news article and it sounds like it was written by The Onion?  This is kind of like that.
