Deadline reports that two separate G.I. Joe movies are currently in early development. Paramount initially enjoyed success with the franchise as its first two films featuring stars like Bruce Willis, Dwayne Johnson, and Channing Tatum, amassing a global total of $678.1M. However, the 2021 spinoff Snake Eyes underperformed, earning just $40M worldwide.

Danny McBride (The Righteous Gemstones) and Max Landis (American Ultra) are involved in these new, separate projects. According to Deadline, Landis has already written a treatment, while McBride is negotiating to write one.

Landis, son of director John Landis, famously sold three films in a six-month span after college. His career later faltered when he was accused by several women of sexual misconduct between 2017 and 2019, leading to his dismissal by his management company.

Y'all are walking right up to the line of getting political here. One could argue it's already been crossed. I advise everyone to be very VERY careful from now on.
