ToyFarce News: Masters of the Universe Movie Trailer Gives Collectors the "Perfect Excuse" to Finally Start Collecting MOTU?

In a shocking turn of events that absolutely nobody saw coming, thousands of toy collectors around the world have suddenly decided that now is the right time to start collecting Masters of the Universe figures, purely coincidental with the release of the brand-new MOTU movie trailer last month. ToyFarce investigated...

According to collectors, this decision was not impulsive, emotional, or trailer-induced in any way. On the contrary, many insist they've been "thinking about getting into MOTU for a long time", with some claiming they've been considering it since for at least... two whole weeks.

"I've always appreciated the lore, the characters, the aesthetics..." said one collector while pre-ordering six different versions of He-Man within 20 minutes of watching the trailer. "The trailer just helped me finally pull the trigger. I mean, I was this close already!" he added, holding his fingers approximately the width of an Orko figure apart.

Collectors were quick to clarify that this is not hype-buying. This is a carefully calculated, mature collecting decision, fueled by nostalgia they may or may not actually have. Several admitted they never owned MOTU figures as kids, but explained that this somehow makes it even more meaningful now.

"It just feels like the right time" said another collector, who had never once mentioned Masters of the Universe before this week. "The movie looks epic, the line is expanding, and my shelves coincidentally had a MOTU-shaped gap I never noticed until today!"

Industry experts note that the phenomenon followed a well-known pattern:
1. Trailer drops

2. Collector watches it "just out of curiosity"

3. Collector googles "best MOTU figures to start with" and "which MOTU figure is the rarest"

4. Collector explains to their partner that this is a long-term plan

At press time, many of these newly enlightened collectors were reassuring themselves that this was a one-time thing, and that they would "only get a few key characters" before immediately debating which version of Skeletor is the most essential one to start with.

More news at 11:00... We expect them to confirm they were always MOTU fans by the end of the week.

Oh yes, the mighty long-term plan ... I was solely missing this.

The new line should be renamed like "Masters of the Universe Chronicles of How My Shelf Space Went to Zero In a Year"....

I have no memory of ever owning any MOTU, I remember liking it as a kid, and enjoying the new things these past decade. The movie and its figures are actually finally drawing me in since I’m pretty much a “movie” figure collector (Classifieds jump this rule because they’re not that cartoony). I’m kinda excited, even if my wallet is just worried
