Her head sculpt looks better than the pictures I've seen of the regular edition. Can you confirm if it is different?

It is in fact different, or at least differently painted. One is smiling. The other is not.  To me, the Platinum is better so I will be scouring eBay over the next few weeks.

It would be great if you could buy both and build one from them, something like what's on the card.

A review online said you can pop the vest off, but he didn't do it.

Definitely different.  I thought at first it might be the lighting or something but after going through a few different reviews of the regular and playing around with photo brightness, there's no getting around the fact that the regular looks like an old woman, maybe even an old man.  They over-did the smile lines and made the face more squared.

Now anyone who wants the good looking version has to go to ebay, which is what I just did.  I doubt anyone's gonna get this for under $100.  Now comes the fun part of waiting to see if I'm really getting the chase variant and if the one I get will be crosseyed or some bs.  Why does mcfarlane try so hard to help the ebay scalpers...

I agree the Platinum is much better. I lucked out and got one from Best Buy.

But you shouldn't pay $100.  Hawkgirl's Platinum, for example, is better than the regular and was available for a while for about $40, which is not that much more than the regular figure + 15% eBay fees.  Who Is Wonder Woman's Platinum does not necessarily sell for more than the regular. And there are many defenders of the smile out there (check Reddit).

Wait about a month when Amazon's huge order hits.  I bet the Platinum can be had for $50-$60 at some point soon.

Zatanna is a really confused action figure.  The Platinum is a lot better, but having both in hand (though still in their packages) shows that the legs on the Platinum, with the heels instead of high boots, look really bad.  It just doesn't convey the hose look it is supposed to.

So the ideal figure is probably the Platinum head and torso combined with the legs of the regular release.  That's a lot of work to make a decent version of this character.  :)
