Based on descriptions discovered by Preternia it looks like we have two brand new Masters of the Universe action figures lines launching in 2026 from Mattel that will focus on the new live-action movie. One is a more kid-oriented line titled "First Ones" and the second is more collector oriented called "Chronicles". It should be noted that neither has been officially confirmed by Mattel at this time.

See the descriptions below:

First Ones

-MOTU First Ones offers a complete experience for fans, combining action figures, vehicles, playsets, and role-play items in a single line, allowing you to recreate the Mastes of the Universe universe with great detail and dynamism.

- Inspired by the upcoming live-action film, each product captures the essence of Eternia and transports fans directly to the most epic battles in the MOTU world.

- With gameplay options that encourage collecting, building and telling stories of heroes and villains.

- Detailed designs that reflect the magic and strength of MOTU.

- Fun and action for fans of all ages.

Chronicles

- MOTU Chronicles is a premium line aimed at collectors, inspired by the upcoming live-action Masters of the Universe movie coming in June 2026.

- Each figure measures 5.5 inches and is designed with a high level of detail that faithfully captures the essence of the characters.

- With over 30 points of articulation, collectors can recreate dynamic poses and action-packed scenes.

- The scale and design make the figures fit perfectly with other MOTU lines.

- An essential option for fans seeking authenticity and versatility in their collection.

I'm worried at some point they will fold up Masterverse.  Well, maybe worried isn't the right word since Masterverse is what keeps me having to follow MOTU figures.  I think they might fold up Masterverse and since I don't collect Origins (outside of occasional figures for my daughter to play with), that would end my He-Man collecting for a while.

They don't seem that committed to it. Figure releases are rare and sometimes pretty shoddy (NE Teela). Some figures are home runs though (NE Evil-Lyn, SkelCons) so I wish the line would continue long enough to get me Skeletor's shock trooper from the first film. It's shown up in the art a few times and that sometimes teases what they are working on.  It's my dream figure and really the last big thing from my childhood that has never been made.

Im interested on what this Chronicles line will be. These will be 5.5 inch scale so will these be like Origins in look and feel? But then it says 30 pts of articulation so maybe a scaled down Masterverse type line?? We'll see. Hopefully the Masterverse line will continue as that is my current favorite line.

For vintage/Origins collectors, I'm sure they'll be happy that they're getting tie-in product in that scale/style but yeah, count me as less keen on that. I do hope Masterverse or a compatible scale continues and that they dip into the new movie (along with getting more of the classic movie characters - Teela, Man-At-Arms and all of Skeletor's troopers, please). First Ones sounds like the standard 'kiddie' range so I doubt there'll be anything of interest there, but if it gets kids into the line then so much the better.

Ive pretty much checked out of Origins but it'll be very interesting to see these nonetheless. I'll be honest though, 30 poa on a 5.5 motu style figure doesn't sound like it will be an aesthetically pleasing figure lol. But we'll see...

That's got to be a typo, right? 30 points of articulation on a 5.5 figure? I think Origins has about 14 or 16.

Maybe I misread from another website, but I was under the impression that Masterverse was rebranding as Chronicles.

Masterverse is not 5.5" though.

Edit: I've noticed that many places that had this up have taken it down. I wonder if there is a mistake in the press release Preternia was quoting from.

Shown below via the overseas MOTU website Die Welt der Meister Magazine we have our first look at some of Mattel's new Masters of the Universe Movie figures which were on display at one of the overseas Toy Fairs. While the image quality isn't fantastic, we see both the new movie Man-At-Arms and Evil Lynn figures along with the packaging. Looks like as rumors suggested this line is being called MOTU Chronicles. It's hard to say what the scale is for these from these images but the initial rumors suggested these would be 5.5" and have around 30 points of articulation.

On the back of the packaging we also see it looks like He-Man and Tri-Klops are slated for the first wave.

Thanks to Ciarda for the heads up. When more details become available for these figures we will be sure to update you here.

It's funny that they decided to put potentially the best likeness in this line (That's just a tiny Idris Elba, right, oh my gosh), next to potentially the worst likeness (Is that supposed to be Alison Brie?! In what world? Maybe it looks better from the front, but does she really have THAT much nose?). The He-Man looks decent, but that's probably more of a render than an actual picture of an actual figure, so I'd take it with a grain of salt. And Tri-Clops has too much stuff on his face for "likeness" to really be much of a concern

Oh snap!!  Tri Klops is Black as well!!!   Heeeellllll yeah!  Grabbing him and Man At Arms on sight!  He-man looks good as  well.  I can't wait to see how Teela looks.

Very  excited about this whole line...and I already have ML weapons to kit my people out with

These look horrible. And I mean, it could just be that my eyes are so impressed with the recent Mondo pics of their 200X line. But these movie figs have no bright colors, no cool looking accessories, and just look soulless to me =/

What the what, okay, sure whatever, No matter what none of this was going to be on my buy list since it's Movie based, and that can bugger off, but the great question is why start new lines just for these movie figures? and the "collector" figures being a totally different scale then Masterverse at 5.5 just boggles me, why not just have made Movie figures in the Origins and Masterverse lines and call it a day?

Unless they plan on putting figures from the show/comic etc into these new lines and fold the existing lines, what's the point? a single film warrants 2 new lines that likely won't get much out of them if it's pulling only from the movie, I can almost promise you these will be clearanced at Wal-fart in months after the movie, no matter how popular it is, they only have so much fanfare and like all movie product it's generally limited. I don't know it all seems unnecessary...

I like these so far , and yes I get people crapping all over the evil Lynn likeness but these are just early prototypes and are probably just paint masters to show how they will look , I’m hoping the final product will have more going for it , I’m gonna wait to see more images before dismissing them all together

The portrait for Evil-Lyn doesn't look great and I'm not loving how that cape looks to be executed, but the Man-At-Arms figure looks great to me. Again, likeness isn't 100% but I can see Idris in there and I really like the character design and the patina-look to the armor. The pictures on the package for He-Man and Triclops look pretty good too, so I'm definitely in favor of picking these up if I can get them at retail here in NZ.

Plus I'm glad this is 'Chronicles' - rebranding Masterverse keeps that scale alive and by giving it a name not tied to the movie line it still keeps it open to covering other eras/interpretations. Still got those fingers crossed to flesh out the '87 movie cast along with these new ones!

The more look at Man-at-Arms the more I like him. Brievil Lynn may be salvegable with a better paint job but still looks quite rough to me. I didn't notice Triclops at first - looks very cool. I will definitely pick up a few of these even if the movie sucks, just as iterations/elseworlds versions of the character designs.
