Amazon MGM Studios has released a new trailer for Project Hail Mary, giving viewers an extended glimpse of the spider-like alien called "Rocky," who was only briefly shown previously.

Directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller—renowned for their work on The Lego Movie—the film features Ryan Gosling in the lead role of Ryland Grace. The cast also includes Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz, Milana Vayntrub, and Ken Leung. The screenplay adapts Andy Weir's 2021 science fiction novel, with Weir and Drew Goddard (The Martian) collaborating.

Project Hail Mary will be released in theaters on March 20, 2026.

The Martian had a lot of heart, but it was based on pure science and logical thinking, which is what saved his life. This I thought at first to be a parody. Like, randomly, the Sun is dying and apparently there is only one guy in the world, an elementary school teacher, who can save it, and they just shoot him into space without a team or any help whatsoever?

Based on their previous movies, I do not expect much from Lord and Miller. I found most of their jokes just pure cringe.

So it's the more just a ryan gosling version of the Adam Sandler Movie Spaceman...in which there was also a Spiderl Alien?

I dunno either way I wanna see this movie!
