Alien: Earth Renewed for a Second Season

Noah Hawley has signed a new multi-year deal with FX and Disney Entertainment Television, extending his creative partnership and confirming a second season of Alien: Earth. The new season will air on FX and Hulu, with production starting next year in London. Hawley, who previously created Fargo and Legion for FX, will now work across all Disney Entertainment TV platforms.

The renewal will address the season one cliffhanger set two years before the original Alien film. “I had to plan and execute a story that that’s going someplace,” Hawley told The Hollywood Reporter about the season one finale. “And then, this whole thing is a proof-of-concept experiment to see if enough people on the planet want to watch an Alien TV show to justify the expense of a second and third season of an Alien TV show. So for me, I never hedged my bets. This is not a closed-ended season. This chapter is closed. … The balance of power has shifted. These children have no idea what’s coming.”

Certainly enjoyed the first season, it was a different take than the typical Alien story, but we're invested in seeing where it's going.

I really enjoyed the first season and the way it left off I would have likely been quite displeased if they were not going to give us more seasons, it wasn't what I'd have asked for or thought for an Aliens franchise production, but it was a fresh take, I need more.

I did not know the show got a second season until I read it in forum  cool I really like this show

He won't add anything to the show, unfortunately. He plays the same role in everything he does nowadays.

Couple things:
The original Alien movie from 1979 was shot at Shepperton Studios. Aliens was shot at Pinewood. Sadly, these days it's a smart move to fact check Deadline. Every single word.
