It's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the Dr.Malgam's Body Bags by ToadFrog! From a successful Kickstarter campaign from last year, the Dr. Malgam's Body Bags are a super fun concept of mix-and-match monster action figures, delivered in actual 1/12 scale zippered body bags. What's not to like?

We mentioned the Kickstarter campaign last year here, and I immediately backed it, thinking about taking at least one, since I can always use the body bag as a prop for toy photography and the figures looked cool. After that, I kept going to check the page every few days to see all the unlocked strech goals and well... I ended up going all in, with the 'Full Moon Special'. I try to always back and promote new cool toys campaigns, because that means more toys! The Mythic Legions line started as a Kickstarter campaign, and we never know who will be the next Four Horsemen Studios!

The Dr. Malgam's Body Bags come in 5 different assortments + a transluscent blood red and glow in the dark ones + a bag of heads and extra bonus parts, part of the campaign. The first bag comes with a vampire head, a robot gorilla body, a Frankenstein arm, a sea creature arm, a werewolf leg a mummy leg and an extra skeleton arm. I loved the look of that figure from the moment I saw it, and the fun factor of the body bag really helped!

Body bag number 2 comes with a Frankenstein head, a skeleton body, a mummy arm, a vampire arm, a sea creature leg, a robot gorilla leg and a werewolf arm. I love how the designs of all those parts are immediately recognizable.

The third body bag has a werewolf head, a mummy body, a tentacle arm, a swamp creature arm, a frankenstein leg, and alien leg and an extra sea creature body.

Body bag 4 has a sea creature head, a Frankenstein body, a robot gorilla arm, a crab arm, a yeti leg, a bug creature leg and a demon leg.

Last but not least, body bag number 5 has... a little bit of mummy head (in my life), a little bit of werewolf body (by my side), a little bit of demon arm ('s all I need), a little bit of green gooey arm ('s what I see), a little bit of clown leg (in the sun), a little bit of centaur leg (all night long), and a little bit of skeleton leg (here I am). Apologies to Lou Bega.

The Kickstarter campaign also included a Transluscent Blood Red and a Glow-in-the-Dark versions of the first bag, which look really cool. I kinda wish the red version smelled like cherry or strawberry, but I understand it's not really possible. It took a lot of self restraint not to try and lick it. The Glow-in-the-Dark one really shines in the dark.

The Bag of Heads stretch goal includes a skeleton head, an orange sea creature head, and alien head, a Translucent Blood red Werewolf head and a Glow-in-the-dark Frankenstein head. There were supposed to be a few more, but I figure it might have not been possible (there have been multiple updates from the Kickstarter campaign, but I do not recall seeing anything about it).

As a bonus stretch goal, the missing parts to complete the werewolf and the skeleton were added to the order, along with a Glow-in-the-Dark skeleton head. It is nice to be able to complete some of the monsters...

...but there are still many unfinished ones! Hopefully, we will see more body bags from Dr. Malgam in the future? Fingers crossed!

Yeah I checked it, I was just curious if there was any potential way for me to get these figures, but I guess it was solely a kickstarter, which seems weird, I mean usually if something funds and they release it, wouldn't it make sense to then move forward to releasing things at retail?

The details are nice, but it's a bummer that you can't complete all the characters. I guess at least a blind (body)bag option would have been nice to get collectors trade each other. But anyways, it's good to see these figures rockin' and of course a great review as always!
