Hmm, Mask is going to be a tough call. Just straight replicas of the 80s toys, huh?  I'm not sure I want that.  The figures do look a bit better, but not so much that they make great individual display pieces.

I still feel like I want Vanessa and Gloria, but I might pass on my childhood favorite Switchblade/Mayhem.

They said from the beginning they were replicas. This is perfect since a lot of people never had them. Ill take newly made product over 40 year old, brittle plastic.

What scale are the mask figures ? They look 3.75” ?

Maybe I'm wrong then LOL

We could both be right. Modern Joes are closer to 4" than 3.75".  But I think these might be smaller than 3.75" -- as the poster above said, the originals were smaller than O-ring Joes.

I still remember the childhood heartbreak of one of the wings snapping off the Switchblade, one of the only two M.A.S.K. vehicles I owned, so that's an instant re-buy for me at least.  Sure it could still be used as a helicopter, but the jet was so much cooler.  Even as a kid though, the whole "helicopter to jet" thing seemed functionally silly.  A flying thing transforms into...a flying thing.  Not exactly a wild change-up.

I only had two MASK toys as a kid too (my neighbor had more): Switchblade and Rax.  Switchblade was an amazing toy to play with. But I'm not sure I need an exact replica at my age.

Eh, like I said for me it's fixing a childhood regret.  I think that's probably a factor for a lot of adult toy collectors.  Plus the better painted figures won't hurt.  Don't know if I'd go for the other stuff, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for M.A.S.K.  The other one I had was whatever SUV the eyepatch guy drove, but that's not in this wave, so...

On the subject of replicas v. updates, honestly I'm surprised the line was never properly folded into G.I. Joe.  I mean, I get why really, if you keep it separate you can make licensing agreements and so on, but I think people would snap up any one of these characters if they snuck some into the Classifieds line.  1/12 scale M.A.S.K. figures dripped out bit by bit in G.I. Joe waves?  Yes, please.

They released a MASK figure when the modern 1/18 Joes were still going. There was always talk of blending MASK into a Hasbro combined universe, but that never happened. I think it's been something that's been talked about a lot, but they finally just decided to license the brand out. The rumor was that RAMEN really wanted it.

Yeah, I've actually got that figure.  Which is part of why I wish they'd go all in and just start injecting them into Classifieds.

They did the blended universe in the comics. Success is debatable but they did it. MASK is cool, but I just never had any ad a kid. Glad for those that have been waiting though.

The way I played with it, and if you watched the cartoon, helicopter has VTOL capability, then when airborne, turns into a jet which is arguably more powerful. Definitely a benefit there.

The Mask figures look good because of the details if we compare them to the originals... I need to get that Jem doll for my 2 years old daughter!😀☕👌👍💡🎵
