Oh I must have a Cobra-La Royal Guard, that was such a beloved figure for me as a kid, I still have it, in decent condition, I remember getting it as a gift from a friend, my parents hated G.I. Joe and wouldn't let me have any, they said it was violent and inappropriate for me, and I had to sneak to watch the show, until my mom found out they had morals at the end and then said I could watch it, But I had a rich spoiled friend who's parents literally bought them every single G.I. Joe figure and he would just give me all the figures secretly! (because he actually didn't care and had everything) this was one I remember very well him handing me, because he said pick a few you really like, the Cobra-La Guard one!

You know what? I like this type of memories... I actually in 80 something was passing with my mom to a toy store (Closed) at that specific time but saw from their window the 3 pack of the Cobra-La and I was like oh wow, what's that... I only saw the card art part and at that time never knew about the movie.  I saw the figures in the catalog that came with the Cobra Stilleto and I was thinking in getting them if I see them again... That time never came as a kid, because I  only received figures for special occasions like getting good grades finishing the school year, birthdays and Christmas.  At the end I bought the figures after 2007-2008.

I will buy tgat Royal Guard but not sure if I get two at once. 😀💡👍

Aw love this, awesome to hear the stories! thanks for sharing.

Yeah in actuality my parents never bought me a single G.I. Joe, I wasn't allowed them, only ever got them for free from the friend I was talking about in the previous post, or I would get them as Birthday presents (because I asked people to get me them) Nobody could stop a birthday gift right?! ;) , and my grandpa was cool enough he would buy me anything I asked for, I remember him buying me Dusty & Sandstorm, since I always always wanted a figure with a Animal, and it for some reason came with face paint...like as a special bonus and I made my grampa wear it for an entire day! what a coolio!

You're welcome 😀 👍.  It's good to see that some of us have a lot in common on regards of the struggles we suffer to have the toys we wanted as kids.

Is one of those Royal Guards head sculpts the Cobra Commander noble Men expression? ⁉️

Personally, I'm just glad that the Royal Guard has some extra options for display, even if it's something as subtle as a different head to be underneath a helmet. Love an army builder that gives some options - gives me a little bit more justification to buy multiples!

Based on all those accessories,  he must be the same price as Budo!😀💡✨️$34.99

If not more - don't forget the Cobra-La tax! Pythona was $47, Nemesis Enforcer was $45, so I'm guessing it'll be up that end as well...

I would bet on it being 54.99 or 49.99.

Edit: I was wrong. Way wrong. And quite pleased to be wrong. 42.99 is a great deal.

That reminds me of how tiny the box for Pythona was and getting her out of the mailer box thinking "Well, I got a movie exclusive character so I'm lucky "...😁

Also , not even checking pricing, I was just performing the buying in automatic...💡

In-case you guys missed the news from last night:

Shown below via ToyBook are official images for the upcoming G.I. Joe Classified Cobra-La Royal Guard figure from Hasbro.

The figure will cost $42.99 and be available for pre-order on February 17 at 1pm ET. Look for it to be available at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com, Entertainment Earth and Nerdzoic. Should also be available on Amazon.

Over $40 but under $50, so given how things are going at the moment with toy prices, I call that a win! Need to pick up a couple of them. Guess that means we'll see Globulus as an SDCC exclusive to complete the whole Cobra-La team, huh?

I'm not a comic guy so I never quite understood what this character brought that Jinx couldn't have done, but I might pick this up. I will need to see how the unmasked head looks on the figure.

Also the blacked out Cowboy will be revealed Sat at or around 5pm at Toy Fair. All the figures they showed renders for will go up for pre-order next week, I believe on the 17th with the Royal Guard.

I think the Swamp Skier set and the 2-pk will end up being Pulse exclusives but not 100% on that.

Following today's pre-order of the new G.I. Joe Classified Dawn Moreno Snake Eyes, you can expect the rest of the figures in the assortment with her to go up for pre-order next week on February 17th at 1pm ET.

The figures going up for pre-order on that day will include the Airtight, Cobra Hydro-Viper, Cobra Overkill, Ninja Force Zartan and a brand-new character that will make it's debut this weekend during the New York Toy Fair. You can expect coverage for Hasbro to begin February 14th sometime after 5:30pm.

You can also expect to see the Deluxe Cobra-La Royal Guard figure go up for pre-order on the 17th as well.

These figures will be available at places like our sponsors BigBadToyStore.com, Entertainment Earth and Nerdzoic. They should also be available on Amazon.

As for the other figures we saw renders for on February 1st which includes the Zanya & Dreadnok Chameleon (Swamp Skier) and David “RED DOG” Taputapu & Varujan “TAURUS” Ayvazyan 2-pack, those won't go up for pre-order until a later date, likely sometime in March. They will be Fan-Channel and I believe Amazon exclusives.

I do expect all of these figures will be on display this Saturday at Toy Fair, so check back them for more looks at these.

Dawn should look very good with her unmasked head. I don't care for the character's backstory (or the Snake Eyes angle) but I do like the look of the figure. So I did end up getting someone from this wave after all.
