The, um, smiling face leaves a lot to be desired.

Otherwise, I prefer the blonde version. And I'm not someone who hated the original.

That's the best one of the two in my opinion

Then we're all getting something we like.  :)

To me, it's way over the top.

Yeah, I always tell people that when they just #$## all over what other people like.  I mean I'll be using both heads but my retro will be sporting the hat and smile.  The non smiling one will replace the red head.

So... do Tele-Vipers read backwards or are the words on their visors meant for other people to read?

In the Sunbow cartoon, the words for their visors were meant for the audience to read and appeared both forward and backward depending on the episode.

There's something funny going on with the eyes on this head. It kinda looks like the might be printed slightly too high or something.

image.png

Coincidentally that tends to be what hurt the red-headed Covergirl. With all the face tampos where they're supposed to be, that figure actually looks pretty good and resembles a Central or Eastern European model. If an eye (or both) or the lip printing is off just slightly - Joan Rivers. Unfortuntately with that one, most figures had face tampos that were off the mark.

Hopefully, like with a lot of these leaks of early samples, the final head might look a little different.

Hasbro for the 2026 G.I. Joe day has released new G.I. Joe Classified Render Reveals for the following figures:

Airtight – The Joes’ iconic CBR specialist has entered the field. Mask up.

Hydro-Viper – Cobra’s elite underwater nightmare emerges from the deep.

Cobra Overkill – A Gen 3 B.A.T. prototype turned battlefield commander, ready to absolutely ruin the Joes’ day.

CLASSIFIED – Identity unknown. Intel sealed. Drop your theories in the comments… I am guessing its a western sheriff which will be part of the Legacy series.

David “RED DOG” Taputapu & Varujan “TAURUS” Ayvazyan – Renegades, rise up! Sgt. Slaughter’s legendary team is finally complete. And yes… that beard goes HARD.

Zanya & Dreadnok Chameleon (Swamp Skier) – The Dreadnoks hit the swamps, bringing chaos and bad intentions.

Ninja Force Zartan – The Dreadnok leader returns for covert ops. Because nothing says “stealth” like an orange mohawk and neon green pants.

Look for more details to come during the New York Toy Fair which kicks off on February 14th.

People criticize Legends for focusing too much on its big name characters, but Classified shows what happens when you focus just on really minor or bizarre characters. I hope people are liking these and I enjoy being able to sit waves out.  But Classified has only released one Destro buck (three total paint jobs) the entire length of the line.  And we've never gotten a single Baroness figure that was general release: the first Baroness was packaged with a terrible motorcycle and was a Target exclusive; the second Baroness was a slight repaint and was a Walmart exclusive; the third Baroness was a red version that was packaged with the Crimson Twins and was a Pulse exclusive; and the fourth, and only really great, Baroness was part of a HasLab and is now (I think) the most expensive Classified figure on the second market.

It's actually kind of annoying. There are other things for me to collect (Legends is on a roll with great characters lately and McFarlane has kept me a bit busy even with his weirdness).  But Classified was a really interesting (and fantastic) line for a while, until they started leaning really hard into the obscure.

I would love a more classic 80s style Baroness in Classified, and Iron Grenadier Destro is very overdue

But I am happy that Classified is finally delving deeper into the era of GI Joe I grew up with. The more sci-fi/fantasy type stuff like Cobra-La, Ninja Force etc.

Overkill and Hydro-Viper look fantastic.

Now bring on the Eco Warriors. Cesspool, Sludge Viper, Toxo-Viper v2, Toxo-Zombie…

On the other hand, Marvel Legends is getting too obscure for me with characters I’ve never heard of like The Owl and The Grizzly.

One of the joys of the Joe line is just how many characters there are to choose from, so I don't mind getting the weird and obscure as long as they're cool figures - that's how the RAH line grew in the 80's to begin with, after all. I certainly agree that there are more versions of some A-listers that need to be done (Iron Grenadier Destro is well overdue for a line heading into it's 6th year, we *still* don't have a proper v2 Snake Eyes), plus there's plenty of scope for new takes on those same characters beyond just rehashing previous incarnations (IG Baroness would be an interesting concept to explore - yes, I like the IGs...).

There are some strong B-listers here - Airtight is visually striking and a memorable member of the 80's crew so I'd say he fits the bill here and Zartan is A-list, even if this look is definitely C or D list beyond the weirdness notoriety!

Stormcloud points out something interesting. Legends manages to do A-listers and more obscure characters.  Owl and Grizzly are good examples. But at the same time last year we got a Phoenix Jean Grey, a few versions of classic Spidey (and even a Garfield suit version that can pass as one), Hulk, innumerable Iron Man figures, etc.  Classified hasn't found that balance. It took them years to do V1 Cobra Commander.  We've never had a true retro V1 Baroness (as I said).

It's just a weird line. It must still be doing well enough to bring us all these vehicles. But I just see all these recent figures getting heavily marked down by Amazon and think they have the mix wrong.  In a six figure wave, would it have been so terrible to give us someone who had more than two lines in the Sunbow cartoon?

OMG, those are some gems, Hydro-Viper, Airtight, Overkill & Zanya are must must haves! On the fence about Red Dog & Taurus I'm less thrilled, Ninja Zartan is a no, since I don't do Doubles on characters.

As a Joe comic fan, I'm personally not that keen on the cartoon focus they've taken over the past year without anything pulled from the comics to balance it (we're getting another Big Lob figure but still no Cool Breeze or Firewall?), so I totally understand the feeling and that's always an issue for a legacy brand like this that's pulling on nostalgia connection as much as cool toy appeal.

I think part of the problem is figuring out exactly who *is* a top tier character in a franchise that hasn't really had an unqualified successful mass media entry in since the 80's - none of the movies did terribly well, nor have any of the cartoons since the original have had staying power - and can you build a wave around one of them every time without people getting burnt out on another Snake Eyes or another Duke as people seemed to with the latter days of the last round of 3 3/4 figures? Joe has such a strong and rich B-tier roster to pull from that it's a shame not to utilize that for visually interesting figures that will hopefully grab non-fans interest as they see them on the shelves (hypothetically) - in a way the weirdness of the line is one of its strengths.

Destro and Baroness are top tier characters in every iteration of the line and its media.  Red Dog, Taurus, Overkill, and Zanya are top tier characters in no iteration of the line. :)

Yes, you are right. But I'm happy the line is doing so well that they feel comfortable actually doing mid to bottom tier characters - I don't see thag as a bad thing, quite the opposite. I'm really liking Hydro-Viper. It seems that despite taking risks with character choice they "play it safe" with design, simply upscaling the vintage figure in many cases and just adding small details, texture and tweaks. Overkill shoots for something different in design but strangely retains the extremely bright coloration while Hydro-Viper aims to be card-art & vintage design accurate but mutes the colors.

The unknown character is going to be a brand new one, not Wild Bill. Wild Bill is going to be a Retro series release - According to the Full Force podcast.

I was really excited for Hydro Viper, but I find that render a little underwhelming. Reusing the Torpedo/EEL body makes him kinda scrawny. Given the card-art heavy influence, I would expect a bulkier body...maybe Snake Eyes v4 or the something like Snake Eyes v4 torso with Wetsuit's legs. I realize the OG figure had one gripping/trigger hand and one open hand, but doing exactly that in Classified and not including a left trigger hand (sure it's possible it's not shown, but it isn't likely) really limits the versatility of this guy: he can't hold both weapons at the same time unless there's a surprise at Toy Fair. Lenny said on Instagram that the eyes on the helmet were going to be pure black until Tony suggested adding green dots that mimic pupils, which takes away from the coldness of the thing, IMO. The "no longer" human eyes and brow on the unmasked head are absolutely fantastic. Overall, though, this figure feels like they played it a little too safe.

Zanya is great, but the Swamp Skier, is kinda lame, IMO, and the motorcycle engine with the jet intake doesn't make sense: it's got no wheels, so how does it move? Is there a jet exhaust tip hiding somewhere? ???

Aside from the knee pads, airtight looks to be a pretty exact match for the OG figure, which I think is really boring. Kneepads are a good idea, but  I would have liked to have seen a little more new or out of the ordinary with him. Maybe without the helmet, the hood of his hazmat suit is up or something like on the 2011 and 2013 figures.

I don't think the Renegades all need to be Slaughter's size, but they were all about the same size in the cartoon, which Lenny is pulling from so heavily, so the Classified Taurus being that much smaller than Red Dog is odd.

I doubt I'll pick up that Overkill, and the v1 is my least favorite of the many designs that character has had (I suppose technically v1 and v2 are different characters), but I am intrigued by what is clearly an opening chest and what appears to be a removable faceplate. There's a human eye in there, and I wonder if the rest of his face is mangled or oddly pristine and normal.

I never liked that Zartan, and I still don't.

The mystery figure is apparently a brand new character. I'm looking forward to seeing it soon. Getting heavy Man with No Name vibes from the silhouette, but the tomahawk tells me he might be Native American.

I am liking these deep cuts....would love to see:

Wraith, Mistress Armada, Destro's son. Iron Grenadier Destro, and Resolute designs

Wraith, Mistress Armada, and Alexander McCullen are fantastic characters and toyetic AF. The Devil's Due comics really need more love.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Iron Grenadiers Destro at Toyfair in a couple weeks. I have no insider knowledge. Just a hunch. He's heavily rumored for 2026, either way.
Resolute designs are top tier, especially for Destro, Baroness, Cobra Commander, Shipwreck (incredibly similar to his Devil's Due look), Duke, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes, Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow...pretty much everyone.

No offense, but no duh it's not Wild Bill. Wild Bill never wore a Pancho and looked like someone from a Clint Eastwood western movie. . Like I said in the story, its probably gonna be Legacy Collection figure based on something like a sheriff from the old west.

It's only a few weeks and we'll see.

There is no real evidence at this point, but the Destro is My Spirit Animal channel shared a few new gossips for 2026. So far we got official word on the Arctic 3-pack, the Marauders 2-pack and the Zanya & Swamp Skier, which were on spot. And Wild Bill is opted for a Retro release on his list, so basically, we're totally agreeing on that this ain't gonna be Wild Bill. The Legacy guess is a nice one, however this'd be the first time not representing a modern day hero in this series. Anyhow it's not a big deal for me though. So as I marked it, we have plenty of time till Toy Fair kicks in.
