Don't need Tempest (though I'm glad they actually remembered his name. Remember the convention he was announced at, when they kept calling him Aqualad? Was I the only one that thought that was funny?), don't need Dark Flash (though I may pick him up one day on a whim if he doesn't become an instant sell out) but I think I know what the third figure they'll announce with these two is gonna be, and him I NEED

I'm in for Dark Flash and Tempest, but will pass on Fleischer Supes.

The Classic 1940 Animation Fleischer Superman figure is hands down the figure I'm most excited about from the recent announcements. Dark Flash looks cool, but I’m not really interested. And while Tempest is nice, I’d only want him if I were building a Titans team.

What I really want is to finish my classic 90s Young Justice lineup. I’ve already got Superboy, Tim Drake Robin, and Impulse, but I still need McFarlane to make that version of Wonder Girl, Arrowette, and Secret. Once I have them, I’m set. I even already have Red Tornado, so here’s hoping they make it happen.

I must admit that I didn't know this character before but he seems like a nice character, maybe I should get him (or at least try to). I think there will be a lot of characters this year, if we can find the money and the space. (Where can I put so much?)

YES!!! One of my favs. Awesome looking figure. I'm definitely getting him.

Going with the non-iconic look for Icon seems like a pretty obvious unforced error.  So that's a pass.  Presumably, if they do a platinum it'd be the more well known look, but it's a McF store exclusive so I'm not chasing my tail on that kind of nonsense.

I like the head on Fleischer Supes, so that's a maybe.  Tempest is a pass.  Again, I imagine the 90s look is more desirable, which I suspect they know, but this is the kind of thing they keep pulling; introduce the less-popular version of an awaited character first, so they can convince collectors to buy a second time down the road when they do the version people actually wanted.  I'm done falling for that.

Not sure why they only half-painted the diaper on Flash.  Guess they thought people wouldn't notice?  Or would only pose him facing one direction?  Bizarre choice.  Shame, I was looking forward to that one.  I don't understand why they so consistently refuse to get basic things right?   They're already painting the diaper, which in and of itself is a rarity, why would you not do both sides?  I'm going to just cross my fingers and hope that the factory sample they used is messed up, and not that they're really so lazy/incompetent/cheap that they wouldn't continue the silver paint all the way around his waist.  It's a foolish hope, I'm sure.  But it's something to hold on to for the moment.

The classic Icon would have been a purchase, this version (with no guarantee of Rocket to go with), I'm not so keen. Definitely want that Dark Flash since I've wanted a figure of him since the story was published, but I always kinda thought the silver lightning bolts should have been a raised element.

Agreed!  The 90s Milestone Icon look was PERFECT.  I'm happy just to get Icon but yeah....the old school look would have been the better option

If you thought McFarlane was going to have many raised details on a figure, then you don't know Todd McFarlane.

Although in his defense, Legends is only marginally better about this (look at how many recent figures still have painted boots).

When McFarlane DC Multiverse first started it seemed there was more sculpted detail. Superman and Batman chest emblems come to mind. They were almost always raised inserts, now they're almost always painted on.

Oh, I absolutely never expected McFarlane to go above and beyond on *anything*. Certainly not on the more recent 'oh, so the Marvel Legends/DCUC generic bodies with painted details is a cheaper business move...' approach he seems to have discovered over the past couple of years for the wider DC universe characters. And it wasn't a raised element in the original character design anyway in the first place, so it's accurate - I just always thought it would look cool if it was.
