The Nacelle Company has announced they have struck a deal with Paramount to create a new line of 1/12 scale action figures based on the Star Trek franchise.

The will be doing figures spanning from The Original Series, to Star Trek: Enterprise, and the films with a focus on characters never before available, as well as roles in outfits never before produced.

I'm sure they will be successful selling obscure characters never made before or main characters in bizarre outfits.

I would love some high quality 1:12 Starfleet figures. So I'm interested, but I'm wary of that statement.

Finally someone takes a crack at 1:12 scale Star Trek figures, I've been saying it for years, how Does Star Trek not have a Black Series equivalent? Seems like every time Star Trek figures get put on the market for collectors the line ends up dying on the vine and another company just picks it up and the cycle repeats? Not a Star Trek fan myself really, but I really want to see something good for all of the fans out there who have been asking for a good collectors line for years, one that doesn't end abruptly.

If Nacelle’s line for “The Expanse” is any kind of indication, this line is going to be great. I hope the prices will be reasonable but they are still less than Ultimates.

Im sure we’ll get standard attire followed by or in addition to the more obscure. Ill take it all in the end. Hopefully they steer clear of the newer shows. Id be fine with Picard season 3 versions of the old TNG crew, though.

I would assume fans of Star Trek are not toy collectors. Kind of like how UFC figures fail whereas pro wrestling figs number in the thousands. UFC fans are likely not going to be the toy collecting type. Trek has terrible viewership, although modern Trek is mostly awful so no one cares.

It's a chicken and egg issue to some extent. The old Playmates line was fairly successful and I don't think it was 8 year olds buying them to play with.  And Star Trek ships, both miniatures and models, seem to do well enough to stick around in various lines.

We will see.  I would love a 1:12 Dax or Seven of Nine. And if they were decent enough, I wouldn't mind the main TNG and TOS crews.  But the figures would have to be at least Black Series (and not Ultimates) quality for me to stick with it. And I won't buy any obscure outfits.

It's referred to as One:12 (like Mezco), so I wonder if the figures will have soft goods cloth? I hope not. Mezco already tried it with a couple of figures and let it die like so many other companies.  I hope it is more like either Star Wars Black Series or Marvel Legends. If they want the line to have financial legs, they should probably first offer more popular familiar characters to start with before including obscure characters.  I'll certainly look forward to them.

I don't see anything here that would connect it to Mezco or it being referred to as One:12 anywhere.  1/12 just refers to the scale, so it's a pretty common term.  Nacelle's not really known for doing soft goods, so while anything's possible, you're probably safe in that department.

No, I would argue toy companies dont understand Star Trek or Star Trek fans.

This sounds promising.  I hope they are successful.  I bought the three Mezco One:12 figures a few years ago and I was excited to see the rest of the bridge crew but they dropped the line.

Not super familiar with Nacelle but looks like their toys aren't super expensive so they may be more successful and might be able to get deeper.

I'll keep an eye out for these.

I was hoping someone would do Star Trek, I was hoping for NECA but I'll take Nacelle if they're not too expensive and they look good. I hope they at least  get the main crews in their standard outfits done as well as some iconic adversaries before getting too obscure.

I know it's not on the list. But a commodore la forge... please please pretty please. Also, what has been made in nacelle quality at 1:12

Before they get to the current aged characters I want the classic versions.  Honestly spread out the various crews of the Enterprises/DS9/Voyager in classic uniforms before they go down the road of one offs.  I want a 66 bridge crew (and playset maybe or at least chairs and consoles if not the whole bridge) and TNG bridge crew after season 4, or whenever they gave Troi a standard uniform not the skirt/go-go boots get up.

So did Super7 lose its license? They made Star Trek Ultimate's Picard, Riker, Data, Worf, and Locutus?

Those are in a different scale.

If they can fix paint issues Biker Mice had I can see serious potential future for that Star Trek line, although so far they only done animated looking character so it's up in the air how good they can do realistic figures.

I could get on board with them releasing  waves of five based on position. Like the captains, the doctors, the engineers, the navigators, for the five main series. Plus an alien army builder?

I don’t think they’ll put out all the captains in one wave.  I think a smarter move is to spread out the various crews, releasing one from each per wave. Better chance of getting every crew member out before the line looses steam.
