Got momentary sticker shock seeing the total for both of them together lol. I guess i forgot how much Neca ultimate prices have gone up since those $25 days.

Count & Grover are the next wave right?

I'm not huge on Sesame Street, but I hit pause when I saw these, they are so great, I will be getting these 2, I'm surprised I'd say that. But I love what I'm seeing here.

Pre-ordered.  Sticker shock for sure but so worth it.  Plus NECA will probably only release a few of these a year so the cost won't be too painful.

It’s the most famous bird in the world, or at least one of the largest! Big Bird is joining his friends on Sesame Street as a NECA Ultimate action figure. This deluxe figure of the beloved character is in 7-inch scale with the other Sesame Street Ultimates and stands over 10 inches tall. Big Bird features over 30 points of articulation, including a hinged jaw, and an interchangeable head showcasing his original first season appearance. He also comes with interchangeable hands, necktie, scarf, Radar the teddy bear, and the letter “B”! Is the “B” for “big” or is the “B” for “bird”? Maybe both! Presented in window box packaging with opening front flap, featuring classic storybook homage box art.

Available for pre-order January 21st at places like our sponsors:
* BigBadToyStore.com

* Entertainment Earth
* Nerdzoic

So weird seeing the 'first season' Big Bird headsculpt in there. I would have thought they'd save that for a further release to have a 'first appearance' subset so they could redo Oscar in his original orange as a companion piece and put in a different expression for the regular release Bird.

I do dread to think how much he's going to cost...

If they were to make a “Behind the Scenes” version with removable parts to reveal a Caroll Spinney figure inside, I would buy that in a heartbeat.

If they did that, then I would love a Behind the Scenes set of Bert, Ernie, Jim Henson and Frank Oz...

That would be so cool. And then another version of them with Kermit and Miss Piggy. Yeah, I would dive into a Behind the Scenes figure series like Cookie Monster at a bake sale.

Ideally, you'd have that as a feature of all the regular figures - make them so they split at the waist and can then be 'plugged in' to the performer figure's hands. But that's me and pie-in-the-sky idea!

You do know that Miss Piggy never appeared on Sesame Street. Although Big Bird was on The Muppet Show once in 1979. I believe NECA said to...some person asking on Youtube...that they do not have the rights to any Muppets outside of Sesame Street. I also really doubt they'd be able to secure likeness rights for all the human puppeteers like Caroll Spinney, Frank Oz, Jim Henson, Jerry Nelson, Kevin Clash and others...well, maybe Kevin Clash.
Sorry to pour cold water on things, folks. Maybe one day, though...
