McFarlane Toys Target Exclusive Gold Label DC Mulitverse Commander Steel (JSA) & Sinestro (Parallax) Figures

Not bad, not bad, despite the fact that the body of BATMAN (SUPERMAN: SPEEDING BULLETS) is reused again, I admit I don't know that much about this character but I like it, it reminds me a bit of Captain Britain (He got four hands, unlike Robin.).

The use of silver instead of white makes this look more like Citizen Steel (Nathaniel Heywood) rather than his uncle or grandfather, who both held the Commander Steel mantle. Couple that with the white eyes (not really a thing any of the Heywoods had in the panels), and this figure seems heavily inspired by this Alex Ross Art, which was also the cover of Justice Society of America #7

I was sure it was Citizen Steel from the JSA reboot.

If they're going to call it a JSA figure, it would have to be Citizen, since none of the others were members of the JSA.  But I stopped expecting McFarlane's packaging/marketing/whatever people to know what the heck they're doing a long time ago.  It's clearly Nate, they're just straight-up calling him the wrong superhero name.

And the white eyes thing is driving me crazy.

Hold up. What the hell's going on with his waist?  Was this... did he re-use the legs from a megafig or something?  Jesus.

The legs and waist are reused from the Hal Jordan Parallax figure. But Sinestro is skinnier, soooo.....yeah.😬

Looks fine in the image I posted yesterday morning....IDK

I can see a little bit of a gap at the waist there, but I think the issue is that in the promo image the torso is turned. It seems like the figure pretty much only looks okay if it's not posed much.

The Sinestro  looks correct to the picture he's using, the Steel does not....its the usual lazy, baffling use of the Speeding Bullets buck; slap that paint on, and viola. Why not use any other buck, no idea. Baffling. But you can plainly see the lined, ribbed wide piping going down the arms and legs. I remember when he did the Robin (Drake red suit) figure, and it was just the same Robin Reborn costume. Gave him a different utility belt, styled the mask & insignia a bit differently but that's it. The torso and short sleeves on that have distinctive cuts and shapes, but he just painted the short sleeves red along with the rest of the outfit.

Even worse, they released the red suit version first, knowing the sculpt was based on the green and red suit and that it absolutely wasn't representative of the costume, then after everybody bought that because they were thirsty for Tim Drake Robins, they announced the G&R figure a few months later, even though that's what they had originally sculpted that body for to begin with.  It's shady stuff like that that makes me so leery of McFarlane's output.

Wow, exactly. I mean I could see some fly-by-night, counterfeit operation doing this kind of thing, but not a guy worth over $300 million. And the thing is he's done some good stuff (the Batman Hellbat armor, Batman Azrael hellsend red suit, Superman Unchained armor, Atom (Choi) Page Pun) so its all really weird.

Commander Steel looks pretty  good except for those lines sculpted into the arms and legs. If Mcfarlane wants to do re use they should really have some more blank bucks.

They have the blank bucks for this already. So it's odd that they went with this. I can only speculate that maybe those other blank buck molds were already being used elsewhere. I know the Marvel Legends team had mentioned that being the case when  people were complaining about a particular figure being on  the bucky cap (or maybe sunfire)buck when it shouldve been on a newer buck.
