Mister Freeze action figure dissapointment

I’ve got to get this off my chest because I’m really frustrated with some of McFarlane Toys' recent decisions that seem to be missing the mark completely.

First, let’s dive into the Mister Freeze action figure. I’m scratching my head over why McFarlane decided to permanently attach the ice effect to the Freeze Gun. It’s such a baffling choice and honestly, it makes zero sense. The whole point of having removable accessories is to give collectors the freedom to customize and display their figures in different ways. But with this permanent ice effect, our options are seriously limited. They missed a fundamental aspect of figure design that collectors actually care about. I wanted options, but now I’m stuck with a single, fixed look that doesn’t always fit with the rest of my collection.

Then there’s the World of Warcraft figures. I was really excited about these because I thought we’d be getting posable action figures that reflect the dynamic nature of the game. Instead, we get statues that can’t move. It’s a major letdown. The lack of articulation makes these figures feel static and lifeless, which is the opposite of what I was hoping for. It’s frustrating when you’re expecting one thing and end up with something that doesn’t live up to the potential of the property it’s based on.

And don’t even get me started on the Medieval Spawn Kickstarter campaign. This is hands-down one of the greediest moves I’ve seen in a long time. The pricing is outrageous and the value being offered just doesn’t add up. It feels like a blatant cash grab, especially when you compare it to other companies like Hasbro and Super7. And that’s saying something, considering their own track record. The whole campaign feels like it’s more about squeezing as much money as possible out of backers rather than delivering something that’s worth the investment.

These decisions are really disappointing, especially when you consider McFarlane Toys' history of creating amazing figures. It feels like they’re losing touch with what collectors actually want and value. I really hope they take some of this feedback seriously and start making choices that better align with what their fans are looking for. It’s frustrating to see such potential being squandered with these puzzling and frankly, infuriating choices.

McF isn't really known to make good decisions and they seem to have a stricter legal teams preventing them from doing things other companies do. Hence, no guns and giant weapons that are less chocking hazards. If you really hate the freeze attachment you can just cut it off and drill a hole in the gun. I wish it was removable too but it doesn't trigger me that much.
