The whole point of Voltron (aside from Voltron II) was a combiner toy.  Multiple pieces making one larger toy.  Any time a company does this it reminds me of when Hasbro made Transformers non-transforming toys.  If you take away or replace the core principle of the toy you're fundamentally changing it.  Lion force Voltron is supposed to be 5 lions, forming the feet, legs, arm, body and then the last guys makes the head.

That's a nice Voltron .. I like the inside details .. which can't be made if it was a compiner  .. there is too many compiner Voltron toys .. and it's nice to offer something new for collectors

Some people just want the mech robot form. Any combiner Voltron I have has always stayed in Voltron form. And anyway, single piece Voltrons have been a thing since the shows heyday. Like the 6 inch Matchbox diecast Voltrons.

What do you mean 'aside from Voltron II'? That was just as combinery as the other Voltrons.

My bad. My memory is getting worse in my old age.  I thought one I and III were combining toys and II was just one mech.

Ah, nope. But it was 3 humanoid robots that combined into one larger humanoid robot, so I guess it's understandable since it didn't have something distinct like lions or vehicles.
