AnuBas.jpgIt's Wednesday and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the latest Figura Obscura figures from Four Horsemen Studios, the Gods of Ancient Egypt Anubis and Bastet. Everytime the Four Horsemen Studios teases an upcoming Figura Obscura figure, I get really excited and look forward to the reveal. This time, they had teased some Egyptian hyeroglyphs, so we had an idea it would be Egyptian gods, but never expected to get 2, that would come with so much stuff!

The set was sold as a two-pack, even though they are individually packed. The packaging art is amazing, with the usual 'sleeve' that can be used as a backdrop. Both have the same backdrop, which is fine, but I would probably have done a different for each, like one with pyramids, or different colors.

First off, Anubis. This figure is packed with accessories. The figure comes with 3 heads, 5 pairs of hands, 2 sets of feet (animal or human), and several artifacts, like the gigantic Anubis shrine, the one that was found in Tutankhamun’s tomb, as well as a scepter, an ankh, an eye of horus with a stand and a canopic jar. This figure is just fantastic. As a kid, I used to love the Ancient Egypt gods and stories, and having a Four Horsemen Studios version of them is absolutely awesome. The details on the outfit are stunning. One nitpick: Not that he doesn't come with enough accessories, but he could have had a little scale with a feather too. That's basically his whole thing.

Bastet is another fantastic figure. She comes with 4 heads, 6 pairs of hands, 2 sets of feet (animal and human), and like Anubis, a ton of artifacts, like the large Gayer-Anderson cat statue, 3 canopic jars, a mask with stand, a symbol with stand, 3 canopic jars, her basket and instrument, etc... All those artifacts feel like they belong in a museum. It's like having a 1/12 scale version of the items from the Ancient Egypt section of the British Museum in London. It's pretty awesome. The figure itself is also great, as the first female figure in the Figura Obscura line. She has 2 heads that works with the head dress, and 2 without. Like Anubis, some of the heads are realistic, while others look more like statues.

Looking forward to what's next in the Figura Obscura line!

More news at 11:00... Anubis, my soul is so light. And as this feather I can fly.

Gorgeous figures with loads and loads of highly detailed textures. Love it.

The backdrop and the colors are top notch, it feels like an ancient photoshoot.
