Bandai S.H.Figuarts Kaiju no.8 - Kaiju no.8 Review and Images

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means: ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the S.H.Figuarts Kaiju no.8 figure from Bandai. A pretty solid figure that will make you want to buy more! As usual with S.H.Figuarts, the figure of the main character is slightly cheaper, so that you get that first 'hit' and then want to buy the rest (which will be at normal price). Can someboday saaaaave...my wallet?

Kaiju no.8 is a smash hit manga/anime following Kafka Hibino, who used to work in a post-Kaiju attack cleaning company, who has now joined the organization fighting Kaijus. During a stay at a hospital, he gained the powers to turn into a kaiju, and must keep his identity secret while being the ultimate weapon to fight other kaijus. It sounds very serious, but the series is also very wacky and funny.

Kafka Hibino, aka Kaiju no.8 comes with 3 extra face plates, 2 extra hands, an alternative right arm part and an alternative right leg part (with parts spread over the floor, for extra boost in his punch). Not a lot of accessories, but the figure is the main event in itself anyway.

The figure has great articulation, looks awesome and the light blue highlights really pop. The face plates are easy to change (there's a peg hole behind). I switched to the alternative forearm (supercharged!) but didn't manage to switch the leg that easily (requires a bit of heat). A very nice figure that might tip the scale towards buying the other characters!

A few more figures have already been announced (and released): Mina Ashiro and Reni Ichikawa are already out, and Kikoru Shinomoya and the evil Kaiju no.9 are up for pre-order.

Not familiar with this universe, but the figure is very well done. The textures alone give the figure a huge depth. Thank you for the review.
