Four Horsemen Mysteries of Mythoss: Blind Box Surprise Packages Sale Coming April 22nd

Recommended Posts

2024 is the 10-year anniversary of Mythic Legions! As part of our celebration of this milestone, we have decided to do something we have never done before. Introducing the MYSTERIES OF MYTHOSS - BLIND BOX SURPRISE PACKAGES!

Mark your calendars - the MYSTERIES OF MYTHOSS sale happens on 04/22/24 starting at 11am EST - ONLY at StoreHorsemen.com.

On Monday, April 22nd, 2024 starting at 11am EST we will be adding these mystery packages to StoreHorsemen.com. Each mystery box will contain 2 figures - one older figure from the early days of the Mythic Legions line, and one newer figure from a more current wave! You get something older and something newer in each of these blind boxes!

So which “older” figures will be available in these boxes? You can see them here in this post! For some of these figures, we did a VERY limited new run of these characters as part of the 10-year anniversary. Others on this list are ones we found in the warehouse after a recent inventory. For many of these, less than a case remains representing our final stock on those items! Every “Mysteries of Mythoss Surprise Package” is $75 and they are guaranteed to include 1 of the older figures seen on this list here as well as 1 additional figure from a newer wave - and for those who purchase multiple packages in the same order, we will do our best to make sure the figures you receive are not duplicates. Obviously, there is a limit to how many unique items we can send based on how many you order!

These figures, both older and newer, are all IN STOCK, but due to the volume of orders we expect to receive from this sale, shipping will take 2-3 weeks to complete.

To make this even cooler - we have negotiated special pricing with our carriers for this sale, and we will be offering a Flat Rate shipping option of $10 for US orders. Order as many surprise packages as you want and take advantage of this special $10 shipping offer! Unfortunately, this shipping promotion does not apply to orders outside of the US.

This is  one of the silliest things I've ever seen.

Why not just sell us these figures? Who finds the blind box concept fun?

I can only guess this is how they are going to dump the in stock sale figures they couldn't get rid of in the last sale.

While I agree.......It's also kind of fun in that you get 2 figures for $75 and one will be a pretty rare one at that.  I did a blind box from Empire Toys and got a Sir Valgard in my box......couldn't complain about that for $60. While I have the bottom half of the rare figures......I would have taken the chance on a box if I wasn't cutting back atm.

For a lot of people, they didn't get on to Mythic Legions until much later and the prices for these older figures are just through the roof. So this actually works out very well for them.

While I get that I also hate the blind box concept just in general. But that's because I collect very specifically and it's usually only a couple of characters per IP that I really let myself get often.

I don't think anything pictured was a part of that sale.  I'm also fairly confident that they sold out of the vast majority of the characters in that sale.

They did sell out of a lot of those. Many of the rest will be sold at conventions and such throughout the year. The Horsemen posted on Instagram today that the newer figures would be from the Illithiya, All Stars 4, and All Stars 5 waves.

I don't see how getting random characters helps people getting into the line as much as, say, being able to buy the figures you want in a straight sale, without getting the random overstock figure.

I agree that a straight sale works; from what they said, I'm not sure they have enough stock to guarantee that though,  so the random grab bag is their alternative.

What they said makes no sense.  They did a special run of a lot of the characters (the ones featured in the smaller picture).  Then they found some old warehouse stock.  So to accommodate the limited warehouse stock, the special run is being sold blind box?

It's just bizarre.  But Mythic Legions has been weird for a few years now.  I wanted Vorgus again but I've largely gotten off the train.  I would have picked up some more Templars but I'm not buying blind boxes and getting figures that they couldn't sell just a few weeks ago.

Well the blind box concept probably doesn't work for collectors who already have all the ones they want but again, newer collectors might prefer this option, instead of paying 2-3x more on eBay or some other outlet.  If you're against the blind box period, then this is not for you.

They might prefer this option to eBay (maybe, again you can end up a loser if you have to buy tons of blind boxes to get a figure you want), but who in their right mind would prefer it to just a straight up sale of the figures in that anniversary production run?

There is no doubt in my mind this was chosen to get rid of surplus figures that are overstocked at 4H (and BBTS and others).  They admit they didn't intend to do blind boxes when they ordered the new run.  It's just anti-customer and collector all around.  But, hey, if you're lucky you might get a Delphina!

Again, just going to point out, as someone who actually paid attention to that sale, none of the figures from it are shown here.  They're clearly not just offloading what remained by blind-boxing them.

Where did they say that?

The instragram post linked above:

"We already had that reissue run planned, and the idea to create these boxes came up after we also found some limited quantities of warehouse stock. "
