Recommended Posts

According to THR we are going to be getting a live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie from Paramount that will be based on the IDW The Last Ronin comic book mini-series and be rated R. The movie will be written by Tyler Burton Smith (2019 Child's Play). Walter Hamada will be producing it.

When I saw this I was surprised that the studio would put out a dark R rated version of a what is an IP geared towards children and, at least to some extent, meant to generate revenue through licensing. Seems like a risky movie to make. Seeing the graphic above (I didn't read the comic) now I'm thinking maybe it would work. As long as they don't market it as a TMNT movie, kids may not even know what it is. Sounds like an interesting story.
