It's Wednesday, and you know what that means... ToyFarce review!

This week, we're having a look at the Plunderstrongs and Plunderlongs from Lone Coconut's ! Having been a big fan of the Plunderlings since the first Kickstarter (review here), I immediately backed their second Kickstarter campaign, and got 3 Plunderstrongs, 2 Plunderlongs and a few of the extra add-ons. Living outside of the US, I had to wait for the Plunderlongs to arrive to get my order (since they were delayed, and Lone Coconut split the orders of Plunderstrongs and Plunderlongs for the US). Was it worth the wait? Oh yes!

First, they arrived in a box with 'Plunderlings' tape all around it. It's not much, but it's the little things that make it fun! Also, Lone Coconut offered some enamel pins and a coin, as a token of gratitude for backing the Kickstarter + to apologize for all the delays. Well, consider yourself forgiven! Just like with the Plunderlings, the boxes come with little ears than can be put on the side, and I love it.

My first pick was Raider Blitz, since Raider Gank was one of my first Plunderlings. This huge pirate-looking green Plunderstrong is great fun. Pretty heavy too! Just like their smaller counterparts, they have magnets on the top of their heads to accommodate various hats and accessories. This one comes with 3 heads, 2 extra hands, a pirate bandana, a sword, a turkey leg, and extra Plunderlings hands to go with the Hatchlings (more on that later). My Blitz had rather loose hip joints, but Lone Coconut had already mentioned the issue and provided a quick fix for it (thanks, Billmaru Toychanics!). The ab crunc/chest 'plate' sliding in order to give the Plunderstrong a different posture is a game-changer. Your 'Strong can stand straight, or look like an ogre.

My second pick was Captain Blacjac. I had Captain Ash from the re-issued Plunderlings, and BlacJac came with a cannon, so it was a no-brainer. He comes with 3 heads, 2 extra hands, 2 extra Hatchlings hands, his captain hat, a soft plastic jacket and a cannon. The jacket does hinder movement a bit, but it is a fun figure. Having the figure holding the cannon with the jacket on is a bit tricky, but doable. More on that cannon later!

Third pick, the Kickstarter exclusive Drench Typhoon. I do not own any of the Drench Plunderlings but seeing this one came with tentacles instead of legs, and is made of transparent green plastic, I wanted it before it was even unlocked. Now, this is a fun toy! He comes with 3 heads, 2 extra hands, 2 extra Hatchlings hands, a magnetic fin mohawk (I love it!), 2 bracers and a sawfish sword. It is super fun to play with. I believe the expression 'hand candy' is in order.

For the Plunderlongs, I picked Captain Ojoe, because Nomad Goyle was my favorite from the first wave, so I wanted a Plunderlong of the same color. He comes with 3 heads, 3 extra hands, an eyepatch, 3 different hook attachements (hook, harpoon, blade). I was more into Plunderstrongs than Plunderlongs for that campaign, but it turns out I enjoyed those more than I expected. They are just taller Plunderlings, after all!

Last figure, the Plunderlong Feral 8-ball, to go with Feral Zombone. He comes with 3 heads, 2 extra hands, a cannoneer helmet, two bundles of dynamite and a shell torch. He seems like the adrenaline junkie, loose cannon kind of character, and looks great in white, contrasting with the other figures.

In terms of add-ons, I grabbed a few set of Hatchlings. Hatchlings are tiny bodies which you can use to display/store the extra heads and hands. I already had a few from previous Lone Coconut sales, but I was happy to be able to grab green bodies (which were not part of that sale), as well as transluscent green ones for Typhoon.

I also grabbed a Plunderstrong Muscle Crate for Blitz, which adds 6 more hands: Closed fists, grabbing hands (with magnets, so he can hold items that have magnets, like cannonballs or  other Plunderlings!) and pinching hand (with pinky out!).

And finally, the Boom crate, with additional effects for the cannon. This is a super fun add-on, which has 2 different attachements for the cannon (loaded or firing), and comes with 4 different cannonball types (normal, bowling ball, coconut or spiked). The attachements has a ball joint, so you can also put a Plunderling/long head, which is also a good reason to pick Feral 8-Ball! The only issue with it is that it maked the cannon a lot heavier, and it's hard to balance BlacJac to hold it straight. Perhaps, cannon wheels could be a fun add-on in the future...

Lone Coconut gave us great new additions to the Plunderverse, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next. Definitely a brand to look out for.

Dang! These are pretty cool figures, love the aesthetics and the wide range of options. I find them pleasing and the "toyetic" vibe is there for sure. The translucent tentacles are easily one of the finest inventions this year!
