Four Horsemen Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2

Recommended Posts

The battle drags on, and the armies of the Legions of Light, as well as the forces of the Legions of Dark, have suffered great losses. The ranks of these mighty armies grow thin, but the sound of marching soldiers signals the arrival of Reinforcements ready to bolster the ranks of these depleted forces. This is not the full contingent of these Reinforcements, but rather a small number of the larger force which is to come. Still, these fresh warriors will be a welcome addition to the battlefield – but will they tip the balance of this war towards the cause of good, or the machinations of those who seek to bring evil to the Realm of Mythoss?

Mark your calendars and prepare your forces – Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2 have arrived and we are partnering with members of the Legions community to reveal these new figures! Here is the schedule for these reveals and who will be revealing them (all reveals will of course also be shared on our studio’s social pages as well):

Thursday, Oct 5 – toy_bro
Friday, Oct 6 – thebadassreviews
Saturday, Oct 7 – d__amazing
Sunday, Oct 8 – hedgehogaction
Monday, Oct 9 – kentpoolcollects
Tuesday, Oct 10 – Shooting the Shelf with @art_by_akerman and just.shelve.it

These reveals lead up to a small, early drop of these In-Stock Reinforcements figures on Saturday, Oct 14th. More details on that sale to follow next week, but one thing we will tell you up front is that this will NOT be your only chance to get these figures! In fact, this early drop will include all the figures from Reinforcements 2, but it will only be a very small amount of this wave’s total run - and there will be strict purchase limits. Stay tuned for lots more details on this “Reinforcements 2 Early Drop” and get ready for the figure reveals starting tomorrow!
The battle begins anew…with the arrival of Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2!

Very limited quantities is a strange way to sell army builders.  I will probably skip this first round.  How bizarre.

It does seem a bit odd, and I'm not sure why they're doing this in the first place, except that they may have gotten a limited quantity into their warehouse early and they need to make room for other incoming waves like Cosmic Legions wave 2. Jeremy Girard explained on The Four Horsmen's Youtube channel that they will be previewing only a portion of the figures from the second Reinforcements wave and that this sale would be only those figures in limited quantities and all-in only. He said that rest of the figures in the wave will be revealed at a later time, and then the entire wave of figures will be available to order from Store Horsemen early next year.

The first figure revealed as part of the Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2 wave is the Gold Knight Legion Builder 2! Jared Elswick aka toy_bro, revealed this today! You can see a review of the figure on his YouTube channel!

Released as part of our very first wave, the Gold Knight has been on many fans’ wish lists for years. Rather than simply reissuing the figure, we upgraded this knight with a new paint job and an extra head! He comes with the bucket helmet the original included, as well as the “jousting helmet”. Even cooler, we knew this figure was planned, so we were extra sneaky and we made sure that the extra gold helmet that is coming with the retailer exclusive Figura Obscura Father Christmas figure also matches this new Gold Knight 2 color deco, giving you yet another display option for this figure! Here is the bio for this new Legion Builder:

The Gold Knights of the Army of Leodysseus are stationed as guardians of the Fortress of the Guilded Lion. Their ranks are comprised of both the youngest and the oldest soldiers within this mighty army. Because these knights rarely see battle, since few would be foolish enough to attack the seat of Leandorr’s power, this unit allows new recruits to learn from seasoned veterans whose days of fighting are now behind them. As such, the Gold Knights become the first, and the last, assignment that many soldiers in the Army of Leodysseus will hold.
The Gold Knight Legion Builder 2 is part of the Reinforcements 2 wave, which will have a very limited sale drop on Saturday, Oct. 14th at StoreHorsemen.com. Stay tuned for more details on that drop, as well as other opportunities to add this figure to your ranks!

There are going to be more than six legion builders in this reinforcement wave?  Your information seems to contradict the news release that first announced the wave.  It says all figures will be available but in limited quantities.

All-in only definitely rules me out.  I already don't want the gold knight.  :)

Well, strangely when I watched the youtube stream yesterday, it sure sounded like the wave would be larger than six figures, but watching it again, it doesn't. That weekly livestream hosted by Chris and George is usually pretty hectic, and even the segment when they were talking to Jeremy was no exception. I misunderstood. It happens to all of us.
The rest is of what I said is pretty much just what Jeremy said, including the part about wanting to get this limited stock out ASAP to make room in their warehouse.
Anyway, here's an update with more detailed info posted by Jeremy in the Mythic Legions Cabal facebook group.

UPDATE - here is some info we just dropped on the weekly YouTube show:

- This is an early release of these figures with only a small part of the stock available

- This is NOT your only chance to get these! They will all be at LegionsCon for sale, and the full stock of these will be sold online early 2024. So you have at least 3 chances at these.

- This early drop is only being sold as All Ins with a limit of 1 All In per person. At LegionsCon and the future online sale will have individuals for sale.

- These are being revealed one per day. Here is the schedule:

Thursday, Oct 5 – @toy_bro

Friday, Oct 6 – @thebadassreviews

Saturday, Oct 7 – @d__amazing

Sunday, Oct 8 – @hedgehogaction

Monday, Oct 9 – @kentpoolcollects

Tuesday, Oct 10 – Shooting the Shelf with @art_by_akerman and @just.shelve.it

- Sale drop is on 10/14 (time TBA). These Reinforcements are IN STOCK and shipping on the orders will begin immediately after the sale!

The next figure revealed for the Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2 wave is the Cavern Dwarf Legion Builder 2! This figure was revealed today by Carlos Espino of thebadassreviews. You can check that out on his YouTube channel.

The Cavern Dwarf was originally part of our Advent of Decay wave. For this second version, we swapped out one of the original heads this figure came with and instead included the dwarf head first seen on the Deluxe Dwarf Legion Builder, but painted to match the Cavern Dwarf deco! For those Kings Under the Mountain looking for more dwarf builders for their ranks, this is for you! Here is his bio:
The kingdom of Ironhold is preparing for war. Marching from their home deep in the Greyvein caverns, the army of King Bromdenn Ironjaw has aligned under the banner of the Legion of Arethyr, believing that their fortunes are assured by fighting alongside the God of War. The Cavern Dwarves follow their king’s command, but do they march to glorious victory and future riches, or will their decision lead to the destruction of these once-proud dwarven people.

The Cavern Dwarf Legion Builder 2 is part of the Reinforcements 2 wave, which will have a very limited sale drop on Saturday, Oct. 14th at StoreHorsemen.com. Stay tuned for more details on that drop, as well as other opportunities to add this figure to your ranks!

The next two figures revealed for the Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2 wave is the Templar Relic Guard Legion Builder and Ogre Legion Builder 2 These figures were revealed by d__amazing and hedgehogaction. You can check them out on their YouTube channels.

Templar Relic Guard Legion Builder, an ancient sect within the Order of Eathyron, the Templars have been restored to their glory by Sir Gideon Heavensbrand. Within the chambers of the sacred Temple of Eathyron are the Relic Guards. Recognized by the black crosses emblazoned upon their white tunics, this elite unit is comprised of 12 of the Templars’ most capable and loyal members. The Relic Guards protect a secret known only to them. It is a secret that these knights take with them as they pass from this life to a final meeting with the Crowned Eagle whose memory they faithfully serve.

Ogre Legion Builder 2 - The original Ogre Legion Builder was part of the Siege at Bjorngar wave, which is the wave that introduced the ogre-scale to Mythic Legions. This new version includes all the parts from the first release, plus a brand new head! The cyclopean head originally offered with Argemedes is included with this figure, painted to match this green-skinned monster. Here is his bio:
The Impure are the name given to the family of twisted creations brought to life by the jealousy of the Godly co-creator of Mythoss named Helyos. Comprised of goblins, orc, trolls, and ogres, there is even further diversity within each of these Impure, including sub-races and mutations. Variations in skin color or features is not uncommon amongst these monsters. What is a constant is an insatiable need to destroy, almost as if the anger of their maker is in their very blood, driving them forward in their desire to see the Realm of Mythoss burn.

These figures are part of the Reinforcements 2 wave, which will have a very limited sale drop on Saturday, Oct. 14th at StoreHorsemen.com. Stay tuned for more details on that drop, as well as other opportunities to add this figure to your ranks!

The fifth figure revealed for the Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2 wave is another brand-new figure – the Vampire Phalanx Legion Builder! This figure was revealed today by kentpoolcollects on his YouTube Channel.

The original Black Knight Legion Builder is one of the most popular we have done, so for Reinforcements 2 we wanted to release a figure with a similar color scheme, but with new parts that could also be mixed and matched with that Black Knight. The Vampire Phalanx comes with 2 heads (open-faced vampire helmet and fully helmeted head), and once again we were sneaky and we painted one of the bonus knight heads from the upcoming retailer exclusive Father Christmas figure to match this body as well! Here is his bio:

The vampires of Illythia’s Brood make their home in the remote region known as The White Spine. Protecting the gates to the black palace of the vampires are the tireless guardians known as the Vampire Phalanx. These black-armored soldiers use their shields to form an impenetrable wall, while the long tridents they wield can be thrust forward to impale any who get too close. Perfect coordination along with vampiric strength and reflexes make these guardians a formidable force that ensures the protection of the vampiric royalty seated within the Bloodless Throne.
The Vampire Phalanx Legion Builder is part of the Reinforcements 2 wave, which will have a very limited sale drop on Saturday, Oct. 14th at StoreHorsemen.com. Stay tuned for more details on that drop, as well as other opportunities to add this figure to your ranks!

Dang those ares awesome. I’ve never seen this line in stores ever.

They're only sold at a limited number of authorized toy stores around the country. The Toy Department in Cincinatti Ohio is the only place I've ever seen that was selling Mythic Legions outside of a convention.

Vampire Phalanx has a lot of the newer 1.0 parts (notably torso and arms) and looks good. I'd prefer to see the even newer knight body introduced in the Necronominus waves painted black and used here, as that's supposed to get even better range than the newish parts used here, but this should still be quite good. Not a fan of the solid purple weapons, but I get it, and I can paint or swap.

The final figure being revealed as part of the Reinforcements 2 community rollout is the Shadow Orc Grunt Legion Builder! This figure was just revealed live earlier by art_by_akerman and just.shelve.it on their Shooting the Shelf show on YouTube.

Once again, this is a brand-new figure making its debut in this wave! Interestingly, we created this figure as a way to get shadow orcs back into Legionnaires’ hands before Gorthokk, the original shadow orc, won a spot in the All Stars 6 vote. It ended up working out perfectly, however, since now you can build an army of these grunts, which include 2 heads (one of which is brand new on this figure and never before revealed) for Gorthokk to command!

Here is their bio:
One of the deadliest, and most terrifying, units in the Legion of Arethyr is known as the Shadow Battalion. Comprised of bloodthirsty Shadow Orcs who relish the chaos of battle, these savage soldiers are led by one of their own - the strategist named Gorthokk. Having represented the Legion of Arethyr at the secret meeting of the Legions of Dark called the Covenant of Shadow, Gorthokk now awaits the call to lead his Shadow Orc Grunts from their subterranean homes and into glorious battle in the name of their fiery god – Arethyr.
The Shadow Orc Grunt Legion Builder is part of the Reinforcements 2 wave, which will have a very limited sale drop on Saturday, Oct. 14th at StoreHorsemen.com. Stay tuned for more details on that drop, as well as other opportunities to add this figure to your ranks!

I won't be duped by that horned Templar again.  If you don't want to display the figure with the horns in the helmet, the holes left behind are ENORMOUS.  It simply isn't a look that is feasible. This is why I sold virtually all of my Dark Templars.

I think, then, I only want one of this wave: the Vampire knight without the Vampire head.  But even that's not a given.  The horns on that helmet are also kind of distracting.

I like the horns, really kind of completes the look for me, but that's good to know.

The Four Horsemen have one more surprise for you with Reinforcements 2 – a surprise which was just revealed on the weekly “4(ish) Horsemen O’Clock” show on our YouTube channel. The final figure which will be part of this wave is a reissue of the highly sought after defender of the Flock – the Silverhorn Sentry!

Initially released in the Covent of Shadow wave, the Silverhorn Sentry came within a few votes of making it into All Stars 5 back when we did that voting in early 2021. He was so close that we decided to reissue him as part of Reinforcements (this is also why he wasn’t one of the choices in the All Stars 6 vote)! This figure is the same as the first release, except for a new package, and he comes with both heads and all the parts from that first release.

Fully revealed, we now know that the Reinforcements 2 wave is 7 figures strong! Check out the episode of “4(Ish) Horsemen O’Clock” for more details on this early “Mythic Legions: Reinforcements 2” sale drop, or stay tuned here tomorrow for a detailed breakdown of what to expect!

One of the first released wayyy back when this was just a kickstarter. How they've grown since then.

The new touches are nice; I would've liked to see some actual feathered or feather-type plumes for the helmet this time around, and some deco on the shields. I'm glad these are in stock!
