Deadline is reporting that the site has confirmed with sources that there are no plans for a Wonder Woman 3 at Warner Bros.’ DC Studios.

This comes after we reported about Gal Gadot stating in an interview with ComicBook.com that James Gunn and Peter Safran are developing the third installment to the franchise Wonder Woman.  Gadot made the same comments to Flaunt magazine in another interview stating:

Quote

“I was invited to a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran [co-chairperson and CEO of DC alongside Gunn] and what they told me, and I’m quoting: ‘You’re in the best hands. We’re going to develop Wonder Woman 3 with you. [We] love you as Wonder Woman— you’ve got nothing to worry about.’ So time will tell.”

The only subject matter that has come about for something new for Wonder Woman came in January when Gunn and Safran announced a Max live-action series, Paradise Lost, which takes place before the birth of Diana.

Quote

Safran said, “It’s going to be a Games of Thrones-ish story about Themyscira, the home of the Amazons and the birthplace of Wonder Woman. This drama is really about the political intrigue behind the society of all women. How did that come about?” says Safran.

Gunn added at the time, “What’s the beautiful truths and the ugly truths behind all of that and what’s the scheming like between all the power players in that society?”

That's disappointing. I liked Gal as Wonder Woman. Will be looking forward to the paradise lost show tho!

i liked her too, but if they are rebooting everything, keeping her is just kinda weird, they need a fresh clean slate

This doesn't surprise me.  I don't think we can trust much of anything that gets announced and isn't coming directly from the source.  I'm sure they had a meeting where they talked about the possibilities, then in private realized they weren't sure how to go about making it work.  Might still happen someday, no direct plans for it at the moment, that sort of thing.  I too, liked Gal quite a bit for the role, so I wouldn't mind seeing her put on the tiara for another go, but that last movie was painful, and this is coming from someone who is traditionally gives comic book movies a lot of leeway.

I get that. I'm kinda glad they're starting completely fresh to escape the convoluted DCEU, but part of me will still miss that cast 😔 I trust Gunn tho, I like his stuff
