Target has announce their their 2023 Summer Geek-Out Collector event will kick off on Friday June 16. Over the course of six weeks (6/16-7/21) on each Friday at 8am CT they will drop pre-orders for new exclusives from various toy companies. While there have no specifics on which companies or exclusives will be dropped, generally we see companies like NECA, McFarlane, Hasbro, Funko and Mattel participate in this event.

When more details become available we will be sure to let you know.

Are they preorders?  That isn't what the image says.

They are generally pre-orders. Things like for NECA if its the TMNT Animated Series Bugman & Electrozapper 2-Pack And April v2 which go up (And likely it will be), those are already hitting physical stores so the pre-order window will probably be short.

The previous Collector Events weren't preorders.  I received all of the NECA TMNT within a week of when I ordered.

Either way it will be the time to order those figures at Target 🎯 online so I will have to be ready to get me April... I never found the first April version at my local stores.😎💡👍

Target employee here; I saw NECA's tmnt 4 pack, April, Splinter and Collusus Napoleon Bonafrog in our back room about a week ago.

The thing is, NECA products are technically "vendor" products, meaning that us lowly Target employees CANNOT stock them, inventory them, or even put them on shelves so that people who truly want them can actually buy them. That being said, the NECA vendor quality has drastically diminished in the last few years, so I get why stores are getting the product out during the demand window (or, before it, in many cases). Most times, NECA doesn't even show up, and if they do, it's like 4-8 weeks after the "event" Target seems to promote.

I got lucky and was able to nab a Collosus Napoleon, but missed out on the rest- mainly April and the Electro/Bugman 2 pack. They are all gone at the store I work at, which sucks cuz I still don't have an April!

Anyways, I'm just trying to do my part given that I have some info most avid NECA collectors don't.

My advice: whenever there is a Summer Geek Out or Haulathon, frequent your local Targets in the days before the event is supposed to begin. Also, if you are able to befriend a Target employee or someone close to the situation that may be able to give you a heads up or scoop, def do that as well. Like ToyFarce said, most Target workers (including management and yes, even UPPER management) have no f***ing clue what NECA is or when their events are.

In short, we're basically on our own with NECA drops at Target, at least for the time being.

Happy Collecting to All!

I'd be SHOCKED if these items were or will be available for pre-order. Most of them are already gone in my area and were mostly sold out before this event even began. Moreover, we don't even have the vast majority of NECA items in our system due to them being handled by NECA themselves. Example: we could have 2 April O'Neils on our shelves (or....somewhere in the store), but our system still says "on hand inventory: 0".

Essentially, we are on our own when it comes to NECA drops at Target. Some stores may offer legit services that can land you some product, and even as much as I'd hope that could be true, it's increasingly more difficult to even fathom it happening.

That being said, I do not believe any NECA tmnt products have "officially" been announced for the 2023 Geek Out? Could be wrong, but, I'd bookmark those hyperlinks that connect you to the product's page on Target dot com. Who knows, maybe they still have a few in their distribution centers.

Happy Hunting!

I immediately jumped on the Doomsday 2-pack, but passed on the rest. I'm still tempted by that "Jokerized" Joker and the Ninja Spawn variant though....

That Batman joker thing is so appalling IMO, why? just stop with the nonsensical Batman Variants, I'm not even sure what's going on with that head with the green spray paint on top, was this a thing in the comics? because the base body of this seems like it's a movie figure? Also is that Superman head in the Doomsday pack, the same head just painted differently as the Ultraman in the other 2 pack?

but all that Aside Doomsday does look pretty sweet, and I'm kinda likely this Ninja Spawn re-paint, but as far as collector con offerings go none of these seems like must gets.

Looks to be the same as the McFarlane Store Exclusive "Angry Eyes" (Poison Ivy possessed) Superman, repainted.

I got that Superman vs Doomsday set! Makes up for that horrid Super roided-up smiling Ted Cruz/Handsome Shrek vs Ultraman set yesterday. An angry Superman going up against Doomsday = Awesomeness!
