I don't like the actor they have playing Kirk, and I don't know how I feel about him coming aboard the Enterprise. I guess as long as he and Pike don't meet yet (they aren't supposed to until Kirk takes command upon Pike's promotion to fleet captain) there's no real issue there. Although the writers already seem to have forgotten last season that Pike doesn't get maimed until after he's promoted and no longer captain of the Enterprise, so, who the hell knows what they'll do?

Not that I don't like the actor - he's perfectly fine and I'm sure he's a great guy - but I just don't get the Kirk 'vibe' from him, you know? Chris Pine's version had his own brand of it, and Shatner originated the swagger, but I just don't get that feel from him. Not in the last episode, anyway - maybe he'll develop it as the season goes on.

That's why I don't like him, but it's nothing personal, and I probably should have chosen slightly different words.  I don't like him as Kirk.

I'm pretty sure they are re-writing everything.

Apparently the Klingons never look human-like or ever try augmenting themselves

I'm having trouble finding it now, but I read that all three Klingon looks would appear on SNW this season.

So I haven’t watched either show, but I am curious how are they planning to do a cartoon/l live action crossover? Are the cartoon characters just being portrayed as live action?

maybe a time travel episode?

or holodeck thing?

Presumably the in-universe justification is time-travel.  As for out of universe, as shown in the picture included in the article, they're having the Lower Decks characters' voice actors play them in live-action.
