Warner Bros. Interested In Jenna Ortega For 'Beetlejuice' Sequel

Sources from within are interested in Wednesday's Jenna Ortega to reunite with Tim Burton for his next project, Beetlejuice 2 at Warner Bros.

Ortega is in early talks for the project with Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder expected to reprise their roles, and Burton returning to direct.  Ortega would play the daughter of Lydia, the character played by Winona Ryder in the Burton-helmed original.

Ortega is credited with her Addams Family series Wednesday on Netflix and appearing onscreen in Scream VI.

Warner Bros. will begin production on Beetlejuice 2 in London this week with a set release schedule for September 6th, 2024.

Tim Burton is returning to direct and produce, along with Michael Keaton returning in the title role and Winona Ryder reprising her role from the original 1988 supernatural comedy, with Jenna Ortega set to play Ryder’s daughter in the new sequel.  Justin Theroux is the latest addition to the cast with his character details under wraps.

Producing besides Burton will be Tommy Harper, Plan B, Marc Toberoff, David Geffen, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg, with Alfred Gough and Miles Millar penning the most recent draft.  The script is done by Mike Vukadinovich, with earlier drafts from Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith are producing.

Sources from within have confirmed to Deadline that Willem Dafoe has joined the cast of Warner Bros’ Beetlejuice 2.

Sources also have been informed that Monica Bellucci is in talks for a role.
