Savage Crucible Kickstarter is Live - Highly Articulated Fantasy-themed Action Figures, Graphic Novels and Collectibles

Welcome to the World of Savage Crucible!

Savage Crucible is an exciting 6.5-7" highly articulated action figure line with a ton of interchangeable parts. Harvinger Studios, the brand behind Savage Crucible, tried their best to focus on the fantasy themes, character types, mold uses, articulation and other aspects that we all enjoy as collectors.

This Kickstarter campaign is years in the making. The team has spent several years sculpting, refining and engineering the line. They have been working with the factory for a little over two years to ensure a smooth production and delivery timeline. Harvinger Studios hope that we enjoy these figures as much as they have enjoyed bringing them to life.

The first 3 waves of highly articulated fantasy-themed action figures have already been unlocked in the Kickstarter campaign, with a few more add-ons to be revealed soon. Each wave has 4 'main characters', along with 1 or 2 slates, which are blank characters for us to customize, add armor parts and weapons as we desire. The first wave consists of Lemurian characters, which are a reptile/lizard looking species. The second wave has mostly human characters, or Barbarians, along with Jaegar, a lycan character, and a Frank Frazetta licensed warrior with ball and chain. The third wave includes Pirahnoid characters, which are fish looking creatures, and the Harbinger of the Abyss, a very Lovecraftian figure with lots of tentacles.

Check out images below and the full Kickstarter Campaign here. The campaign ends on April 1st.

I have seen this on Kickstarter and it does have my interest. These are fascinating designs and really like how some of these figures look. I may contribute to this before it ends.

If anybody else plays D&D and has always wanted Lizardfolk & Sahuagin then the basic level fish & lizard people look great for $15-25. But I don't know what they mean by "Slate" and it isn't explained anywhere that I can see. I'm assuming they will come unpainted but the renders look painted.

The "Slate" figures are more basic and don't come with armor like the others, and everything is supposed to be painted. There photos of the prototypes on instagram.

Savage Crucible has shown of an unpainted look at their upcoming Savage Crucible Wave 2: Frazetta's Warrior with Ball and Chain Figure! Also if you missed out on the Kickstarter apparently there will be a second chance to order the figure! You can still pre-order wave 1 from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com!

PowerCon 2023!
Come by the booth and see Frazetta's Warrior with Ball and Chain. This is a check model. Plastic formed in silicone molds. It is not the final production model. The joints and other pieces are loose to be able to check for issue in the sculpt and any engineering tweaks before the tooling is made. The metal pins are there for the joints and will not be there with the final figure. The Paint master and packaging prototypes will be on display as well. Tell us who you want to see next from the Frank Frazetta Library and we will try to make the announcement this weekend at the Savage Crucible Panel on Sunday. You might even want to stop by the Frazetta Museum booth and pick a print!

Sculpt by Kevin Delies and Dave Proctor.
This figure is from Savage Crucible wave 2. If you did not order him during the Kickstarter, there will be future opportunities to preorder!

Man, there's a couple of these I really wish I could've jumped in on.  That cthulu is awesome

They'd be leaving money on the table not making them available again from BBTS or EE. I won't do Kickstarters anymore after getting some of my stuff i funded on there and it wasn't anything like promised.

The folks from Harvinger Studios where at yesterday's Maryland Toy Expo showing off prototypes for their new Savage Crucible 6-7" action figure line. These were prototypes of course, but having gotten to see these in-person for the first time I must say the articulation on these seem quit good. Some of these are still available for pre-order from our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com. is supposed to start shipping out to folks in February 2024.

The folks at Harvinger Studios set me this new Savage Crucible Royal Guard figure which was funded in a Kickstarter campaign back in February 2023. This particular figure stands 7" tall and is a lizard type humanoid character dressed in royal battle type garb. The figure comes with a pair of grip hands and a pair of open hands. You also get a pair of long swords and a pair of shorter curved swords. There are sheaths on the back and side of the figure to hold all four swords.

The packaging features nice mythical type artwork on it. The front flap opens to reveal the figure inside. You have a brief synopsis for Savage Crucible on the back. Inside besides the figure and accessories is a map backdrop along with a blind bag bio card which features nice artwork on the front and character information on the back. The card included with my figure is not based on the Royal Guard character so I assume these cards are randomly inserted with each figure as something you can collect.

The black lizard character is nicely detailed with sculpted scales on the skin. You have white markings painted throughout the figure and then you have some nicely detailed gold and silver snake armor he is wearing. The paint detail on the eyes are nice as well. The shoulder pads, chest and mid-section armor pieces are separate pieces made from a softer flexible rubber type material while the wrist and shin guards are sculpted on to the figure with a harder plastic. The armor pieces do not appear to be removable on the figure. The sheaths for the swords are a harder plastic with openings on the sides. The bigger swords are meant to fit on the figures back while the curved swords go on the sides. The bigger swords do not stay in the sheaths as well as the side swords do. The big swords don't fall out but they do tend move more in the sheath.

Articulation on the figure is decent. On the packaging it warns of needing to heat up tight joints before moving it so you don't break the figure however that was not a problem with my figure. The one issue I had with articulation is the ankle joints on the feet of my figure right out of the packaging where on the loose side. That and the fact the figure has toe articulation make the figure to have a tendency to fall forward more easily. The figure has single hinged elbows, double jointed knees, tow articulation, ankle pivot, rotation at the biceps, elbows, thighs, knees and mid-section. The head has good rotation as well and decent up and down movement and you have an articulated jaw. Hands rotate and have hinges on them and you also have a tail with 4 points of articulation.

Overall you can get the figure into some decent poses and I have had no breakage issues. Again really my only complaint comes with the loose ankle joints which can make standing the figure up a pain. The figure does have peg holes on the bottom of the feet but it does not come with any kind of figure stand.

Check out my GALLERY of images for this figure below. Savage Crucible figures are available at our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com.
