This is the single laziest company I have seen in a long ass time.

They ought to be embarrassed. Everyone involved.

And now I sincerely hope the Mutant Mayhem/McFarlane rumors are true.

Playmates--you suck.

As a childhood favorite, generally speaking I'm a sucker for Triceraton, but this looks like it lacks the heft I think the figure deserves.  Maybe my opinion will differ if I see it in person, but it doesn't look like something I'd feel the need to get.  The rest are pretty easy passes for me.

Genuinely, don't waste your time. It's diminutive. It's shorter than the Turtles, proportions are smaller than the Turtles. It's a hunk of junk.

And I think we should all refuse to reward their laziness.

I mean......I think there's always going to be a place for Playmates TMNT, but NECA already has the final word on these iterations of the brand.  Why even try.  If you have the NECA movie Turtles, you have the supreme offering of that style of figure in this scale.  Same with animated Shredder and Triceraton.

When was the last time Playmates released Turtles with an all new sculpt?

The TMNT/Stranger Things crossover 2-packs.

. . . They're not GREAT, but they ARE new sculpts.

The newest figures before that? This Shredder and this Triceraton, both in their original 2-packs with the re-release Classics Collection Turtles.

I think that I actually already saw these at Target this past weekend. I didn't pay a ton of attention because I don't actively collect Turtles. The only turtles stuff I have are the four 2-packs from Playmates that I got each for more than 50% off sometime last year. I think I also have the four turtles and a Master Splinter from Playmates from a decade ago or so somewhere packed away. That's it, though. They've always been an afterthought for me so I've never bought the nicer more expensive versions. The NECA stuff looks nice, but are out of my price range.

Eh. Kids need cheap toys too.  It's not like I'd expect parents and gift-givers to be shelling out for Neca or Super7 anything.

And there's new turtles for that. These are "collector oriented". That's why the catch so much criticism. Playmates has been kid oriented forever, but the "classics" line these molds come from has rehashed the same turtles at least 4 times.
