"STAR WARS: GALACTIC STARCRUISER" OUAANII created by Elias of "Customs for the Kid"

This commission request was a lot of fun because we had the opportunity to create a character from Walt Disney World Resort's Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a revolutionary new 2-night experience at the theme park where you embark on your own Star Wars adventure. It’s an immersive Star Wars story where you live out your own experience and journey further into the Star Wars galaxy farther than you ever dreamed you could.

Board a launch pod and rendezvous with the magnificent Halcyon starcruiser. Stay in a cabin or suite with an exquisite view of space. Aboard the ship, you can interact with an eclectic collection of characters, sit down to exotic galactic cuisine and perhaps even plot a secret mission together.

One of the characters you can interact with I have just brought to life in action figure form. The part that excites me most is that the figure is a gift to the actress who works as Ouaani aboard the starcruiser!

She was made from a heavily modified and sculpted out TVC Aayla Secura Action figure along with the head of a reworked Pax Bonkik. After sculpting in the new clothing, hair, and jewelry she was ready for paint.

The Bad Batch - Depa Billaba & Caleb Dume By Elias (Customs for the Kid)

"After viewing Caleb Dume and Depa Billaba's appearance in the premiere of "Star Wars: The Bad Batch", Dad and I agreed that they would both look great as action figures. So when a client approached me with this project, I just couldn't resist.

The base figure I used to make Depa Billaba was a Clone Wars Shaak Ti action figure. My client provided me with a 3-D printed headsculpt made by Watto's Scrapyard. The braids at the back of the headcast were badly damaged when we received it in the mail so I completely resculpted what was missing. Once I had the head taken care of, I completely resculpted the Shaak Ti body with ProCreate to make the appropriate Jedi robes.

To make Caleb, I sculpted the Jedi garb onto a Clone Wars Boba Fett body as my base figure and the headsculpt on this figure was also one of Watto's. I made the headcast a new Padawan braid out of Procreate sculpting putty so it would have more durability than the original 3D printed resin.

It'll be a bummer to see them leave the home considering we've wanted them for our own collection, but at the end of the day, I'm more than happy to bring joy to my clients as well!

THE CLONE WARS" ADMIRAL TRENCH by Elias of "Customs for the Kid

"To celebrate the day we thought we would share our latest custom commission. This Admiral Trench action figure was 100% sculpted and painted by hand.

To begin the build, I used an AOTC Orn Free Taa action figure for my base figure, and then completely rebuilt the torso to accommodate three arms on each side of the body. The arms I borrowed from several Clone Wars Phase I Clone Troopers that I sanded the armor off of so I could utilize their joints and appendages for Trench.

Once I had a rough skeleton built out, I got to sculpting out all the necessary forms and later on, all the fine details with the help of some ProCreate. I made the head using a cast of my previous Trench’s head, and resculpting his left side with the same sculpting putty.

I recarved the feet with a hot knife and then made molds and several casts of the hands from the K'Kruhk action figure from the Build A Droid line to create the figure at a faster pace.

His accessory was designed on my laptop and then printed out on our 3D printer.

Once I felt like I achieved Trench's likeness, I set to painting the intricate patterning on his robe and tackled the challenge of continuing the pattern around to the back of the figure. This proved quite difficult because there is no reference of him from that angle. I did my best with the partial shots I was able to locate and inferred how these patterns would continue outside of the frame. Once I felt I acheived a satisfying conclusion to my efforts, I set to replicating the Trench symbol and Trade Federation insignia on the shoulders to complete the figure.

I am really happy with both the sculpt and the paintwork on this particular piece. He turned out even better than I had originally envisioned. This is just one of several pieces I will be making for this client. I can't wait to share his other commissions once they are completed

The Force Unleashed Shaak Ti By Elias (Customs For The Kid)

20230617_161041__scaled_600.jpg

"This version of Shaak Ti is from the once popular video game "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed". Shaak Ti served as a Jedi General during the Clone Wars. She fought in many battles, even a fight against the deadly General Grievous. Later when Darth Vader attacked the Jedi Temple, she managed to escape and fled from planet to planet until she finally landed on Felucia.
Exile on Felucia

...

This action figure is 100% sculpted and even has handcrafted soft goods. The head I sculpted on my laptop, printed it and then hand painted my design. For the body, I took a 3.75" Black Series Jyn Erso that I completed sanded down with a Dremel. I extended the lower legs to give the figure a little more height. Once I took away all the unwanted plastic and she was sanded smooth, I then sculpted in all the anatomical forms, jewelry, clothing, accessories, and bandaging. The fabric below the waist of the figure was hand cut, stained and painted.

TVC Carson Teva By Elias (Customs For The Kid)

Initially, I started painting the Carson Teva head that we purchased from Watto's Scrapyard because even 13 years into the blog, we are still going out of our way to promote other artists in the community. I placed the head onto a very expensive super-articulated version of Jek Porkins. I was going to use the helmet of the figure as well, but quickly realized it was a bit too snug and would cause some serious paint rub. Dad did some test fitting with the diverse number of X-wing and Rebel Snowspeeder helmets represented in our collection and found that the POTF Jek Porkins helmet to be the best fit for the Carson Teva 3D resin print. Once we had the build we wanted I quickly painted the rest of the head and the helmet then sealed the paintjob with some Dulcote spray from Testor's.

Aayla Secura By Elias Of Customs For The Kid

"To make the figure, all that was needed was some additional sculpting on TVC Aayla Secura action figure and a fresh coat of paint."

TCW Marlo The Hutt By Darth Daddy (Customs For The Kid)

"This Hutt is another release from Uzay Customs. We purchased a print online from a third-party but when our order arrived the figure was a misprint and had a sizable defect along one side. Dad did some repairs with some Aves Fixit sculpt and then painted up the repaired print."
