Anyone who's been a fan wants this movie to succeed, wants it to have the same quality as the first two.

Anyone who's been a fan knows how these studios have botched these sequels time and again. To the point that we'd rather not see them do this at all, if they're not gonna do it right.

I personally want to see another Aliens movie like the second one.  I think it's the best Aliens movie and the franchise needs another all out, guns blazing, blood spraying Alien fight versus Humans...

I'm gonna keep my hopes up but my expectations low lol. It's saying alot when the movie without the Xenomorphs (Prometheus) is the best sequel 😆

I actually really liked Prometheus and Covenant and would love to see Ridley Scott wrap up that arc. But this sounds cool too.

Same. I really liked them too even tho many people don't. I would love more of those movies.

Agreed, I was a fan of those films (even with the odd David stuff in Covenant) I was really hoping Ridley was going to finish up that story like he said he was planning to, he intially said he was going to keep making prequel movies up to the point the original Alien movie begins, would have been really nice to see

but hey I am always down for new Alien stuff, as basically my fav movie IP ever I am always willing for more, even with a few bad apple movies mainly just the AVP films, yes I even like A3 and Ressurection.

I’m also always ready for new stuff too, but remember, just because we’re getting new stuff doesn’t mean we can’t get more prequels down the line!

I know I'm probably going to get crapped on for this but this is sounding more and more like that Netflix Resident Evil series that flopped so badly. I really do want to hold out hope for this but the last few Alien based projects weren't so great.  Prometheus while visually stunning had terrible script writing similarly so did Covenant

Sources from within have informed Deadline that Isabela Merced is set to co-star opposite Cailee Spaeny in 20th Century’s new Alien movie.  20th Century’s new Alien movie is being directed by Fede Alvarez with Scott Free producing.

The only detail about the new movie is that the iconic ferocious race of alien beings called Xenomorphs will be front and center, again reigning terror against the humans that cross their paths.

Isabela Merced is also set to star alongside Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney in Sony Pictures’ Madame Web, based on the Marvel comics.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu have signed up for 20th Century Studios’ Alien.  The cast joins Cailee Spaeny as the lead and Isabela Merced.

The latest installment of the science-fiction horror franchise is being directed and co-written by Fede Alvarez with production beginning in Budapest on March 9th. The script was co-written by Rodo Sayagues.

Ridley Scott is producing via his Scott Free banner along with the company’s Michael Pruss.  Brent O’Connor, Elizabeth Cantillon, and Tom Moran are executive producing.

Plot details are being kept quiet but this installment of the franchise will focus on a group of young people. On a distant colony, the group finds themselves in a fight for their lives with the titular alien, a creature known as a Xenomorph, whose race propagates by implanting eggs into people’s stomachs via face-huggers, with the juveniles eventually violently bursting out of the host’s chest.

If Fede Alvarez can pull off a successful Evil Dead remake, and be original with “Don’t Breath” which was fantastic. Then I am very optimistic. Xenomorphs are naturally terrifying. Alvarez should be like a duck in water around my favorite science fiction monster.

Deadline has reported that Fede Álvarez is helming a new installment of the Alien franchise, and Álvarez expressed his desire for Ridley Scott to be the first to see it. According to Álvarez, he was warned about Scott's tough nature when it comes to his movies.  Álvarez acknowledged Scott's respect for the new film but understood how tough he can be. Knowing this, Álvarez thought it would be impossible to win Scott's approval.

Álvarez's directed film is a standalone project exclusively available on Hulu, and it is scheduled to premiere in 2024. Although Álvarez was hesitant to meet Scott, he was willing to face any criticism in person.  In the end, it turned out that Scott was impressed with Álvarez's vision for the Alien franchise. When Scott entered the room, he reportedly said, "Fede, what can I say? It's f***ing great."  Scott even complimented the dialogue, asking if Álvarez was the writer, to which Álvarez proudly responded, "Yes!"

While it’s cool that Ridley approves of it, the last couple Alien movies Ridley Scott directed himself weren’t fantastic imo. Nothing has come anywhere close to Alien and Aliens. Those two movies are basically perfect. Hoping this new one is a bit better than Prometheus and Covenant at least.

Raised by Wolves is what one gets when Ridley Scott approves/EPs a sci-fi project but is otherwise minimally involved. That show was ****ing amazing. Super weird but ****ing amazing nonetheless.
