"Here are some completed (for now as I might still add on more fine details later on) photos of the scratchbuilt Patrol Speeder....An impromptu project that started from a comment on my Patrol Trooper post (wink wink ) and I started on the very day itself......Overall, I took about 10 days to complete this build and very happy how it turned out....Now I can start taking fun photos with it....issuing fines to other speeders for traffic violations...."

This week's custom is a Maz Kanata Speeder by PsyfoolRulez Customz
"My washing machine went kaput a few month's back due to a faulty motherboard....The repair guy took out the motherboard to try and repair it but to no avail....RIP washing machine......He passed me back the faulty motherboard which is inside a white plastic casing, I stared at it for a moment and immediately saw a Hovertank!.........Since I've been building speeders for 6" figures recently, thought it would be interesting to convert this into a speeder instead of a Hovertank as it is too small for 6" figures....It already has the perfect shape and will just need a few greebly add-ons to change it into a Star Wars speeder.....The speeder will be quite small and thought it would be better suited for a smaller figure to ride in it....Maz Kanata seems like the right candidate!....I removed the motherboard and have a perfect empty plastic shell....Tried sitting her in (I didn't even have to cut a hole as there is already one) and looks just about right for her....Not sure how this will turn out, but let's see in about a week's time....

Started on the Maz Mobile aka "Mother" (due to its origin as a motherboard!)....Started off by cutting all the protruding clips and cut out a bigger seating area for Maz....then I proceeded to paste some 1mm PVC board to look like panels and also lined the interior of the cockpit....The PVC board also makes painting easier as the plastic is the type that doesnt really bond to paint well....Glued on a few Gundam/ random greeblies and placed 'crates/boxes' salvaged from the motherboard itself....The mini quad cannon is obviously from the Falcon....a spare DeAgostini Quad Cannon....After priming, I gave it a dark green paintjob (balance paint) which matches Maz's clothing....no weathering done yet....Still much more to do.....

Decided to have the Quad Cannon manned by a gunner and for now I'm using a 3.75" Quiggold peg-warmer figure....I'm heading towards a Jeep looking theme, especially with the green color scheme and mounted gun.....Kinda like the look and concept....I'll have to repaint/ mod Quiggold so he doesn't look too much like errr Quiggold, though I don't think people really knows who he is anyway.........I also did the padded seat with sound absorbing pads...works great and thanx to @d1dyr0m4n33 for giving me the idea! ......Time to weather and detail paint this!

The speeder doesn't look quite right without any form of propulsion device, how does it move?....So I went to the dollar store to look for some 'Speeder thrusters'....lol.....Found some water hose connectors which looked the part and gave them a try.....So far, I have painted them in matt black/ chrome and attached them to the speeder.....will weather them up and detail with thin wires and cables....

Rusting in progress....Nothing fancy, just rust (Tamiya Weathering Master) applied with a cotton bud.....Try to spot/ identify the greeblies I used.......I will need to add some details under those front vents...looks too empty....

This speeder continue to evolve daily....I still see the motherboard casing shape and tried something to break up the shape further....Added a 'rack' to the front of the speeder for Maz to carry her supplies back to her Castle Cantina....Running a cantina on Takodana will definitely need lots of supply runs right?....The rack was actually a railing accessory from a Tech Deck set if you can recognize it....but to make sure it is not recognizable, I used Rey's cargo net to go over the rack to hold the cargo/ supplies in place.....I think this works and goes with Maz pretty well....you will also see some other subtle changes/additions throughout the build process...."

This week's custom is a Black Series 6" Incenerator Trooper by PsyfoolRulez Customz

"Done the Incinerator Trooper custom some time back using a Black Series Sandtrooper....When the character appeared in Episode 8 of The Mandalorian, I had to make the changes to my figure to look more screen accurate.....Firstly, my figure didn't have any backpack on.....someone gave the idea to use the First Order Flametrooper backpack....but instead of just attaching it as how it is supposed to, I rotated the backpack and reattached the fuel hose to the base to change up the look a little....attached a new peg so it can be slotted into the existing hole for the Sandtrooper backpack....the other end of the fuel hose is then connected to the custom flamethrower, which also got some update, the double fuel nozzle....Another thing I did was to re-create the harness for the backpack....I used some matt black vinyl decals, folded in two and cut out strips as the harness straps........The ammo pouch was also removed....."

This week's custom is the Galaxy's Edge Soda Droids by PsyFoolRulez Customz

"Running out of R5 movie droids to build, so I thought why not build this Coca-Cola R5 which sells Coca-Cola drinks at Galaxy's Edge? I haven't been there yet but I believe there are a couple variants of this droid scattered around Black Spire Outpost....there is another version with red legs...While I'm at it, I will also be making the Diet Coke R2 droid.....and if I really get carried away, might just scratchbuild the entire Coke speeder..."

"Done with the Coke droids....As you can see, I have 3 heads and 2 bodies as I realised there are at least, two versions of the R5 Coke droid...so instead of building 3 complete droids (2 of which have identical color schemes), I came up with this....I have the option of swapping the heads around for different shots....Now, to complete the set and build the Sprite R2 droid!..."

"Completed Sprite R2 with seamless dome...Now the set is complete!....Should I get started on the speeder?

This week's custom is a Galaxy's Edge Coca Cola Speeder by PsyfoolRulez Customs
It's scratch built with greeblies for the cylinders on the sides, magnetic feet, hinged tailgate ramp and magnetic cooler lids..

"Done weathering the speeder and added the last few details like the silver hose connected to the droid and also the yellow charging cable....and of course I had to build the charging unit too to plug in the yellow charging cable!....This is now done except for the Coke Thermal detonator bottles which I will either get them 3D printed or just build using some beads...Sprite or Diet Coke speeder next?......"

This week's custom is a Modified Tread Speeder by PsyfoolRulez Customz

"Custom Tread Speeder....The original tread speeder appeared in The Return of Skywalker and Hasbro made a toy out of it for 4" figures....From the beginning, I dig the look of the tread speeder eventhough it doesn't make much sense to have tracks in a universe where everything can fly!....But the design still intrigued me so when I found the toy on sale, I grabbed one and started modding it.....The idea was to make it fit a 6" figure so first I had to modify it so that the figure, in this case a 6" Cassian Andor figure with a Marvel head swap, can sit properly on the speeder....New control handles needed to be made so that the figure holds the handle at a higher level and foot rests needed to be relocated forward......A backrest was also made as the figure sat in a leaned back posture....Once this has been sorted out, I started to add greeblies amd painted the speeder in base white to depict a snow environment vehicle.....Then I went to town weathering the speeder with Vallejo acrylics, Tamiya weathering master and washes....followed with a few coats of Mr Hobby matt to seal everything in....Happy how the speeder turned out....Now to work on the rider!

"Another request....Conversion of Anakin's Starfighter into Ahsoka Tano's Starfighter....After a coat of grey primer and a white base coat, I started the tedious process of masking the markings....However, I always look forward to the pay-off when peeling off the masking to unveil the paintjob.....Next is to paint the rest of the detailing and then give it some weathering.....;"

Completed the Hasbro toy conversion from Anakin's yellow Starfighter into Ahsoka Tano's Starfighter.....Had fun detailing it and very pleased how it turned out....Also magnetized R7-A7 so that I forgo the one way clip...And to top it off, I made a custom name plaque for it....
Edit: Yup, I was pointed out I got the name plaque spelt wrongly! Need to re-do that!

3.75" Cargo Speeder by PsyfoolRulez Customz



"Here's my latest random Star Wars speeder builds...Another cargo carrying speeder type with a modified L3-37 droid as the driver....If you have not noticed yet, the main speeder is a Rey 3.75" speeder with a foldable crate attached to the back....The crate has a nice pattern which screams "Star Wars" to me.....There is also the dashboard of Luke's 6" Landspeeder which I added to the front and a 1/2 scale Bandai BB-8 arm accessory too.....Lots of other small details added including the obligatory dangling hoses/cables which were originally charging cables....The spare L3-37 droid got a yellow paintjob for a more industrial look and finished with heavy weathering......

Using a 3.75" Unkar Plutt figure as base and the head of Tomar-Re from Green Lantern, I came up with this dude who is the owner of these droids and also the boss of this cargo shipping enterpise.....I dont really collect 3.75" figures but I do look out for discount bin alien figures in that scale to make random alien side characters for 6" scale....Even the Pit Droid is 3.75" scale....Star Wars needs more alien and droid figures!"

Nerf LMTD Ambab Phase-Pulse Blaster Rifle by PsyfoolRulez Customz

"Long overdue project....I was a bit underwhelemd with the Nerf LMTD Mando Amban Pulse-Phase blaster rifle out of the box...Feels a bit lightweight and also too short and stocky in the middle....But after repainting and doing some mods on it, definitely looking much better and display-worthy.....Will be going through all the mods and detailing done to this blaster in my next post....



Some have asked if I dismantled my blasters for painting....I used to do that years ago....Definitely recommended to do this as it would make painting each part easier and you can get to all the hard to reach areas....However, you need to be very careful when dismantling and make sure you take lots of photos for each step and make sure you don't lose any of the parts, especially springs and screws....Assembly will also be challenging and there were times my blasters dont work properly after putting back together........So now I dont take the risk and spray my blasters in one piece, masking individual parts as I go along......More tedious but lesser risk.....
First off, I sanded down all the raised wordings on the blaster with rough sandpaper and then going over with a smoother grit....I also covered all the screw holes on the left side of blaster (except for battery cover)....I do this by using thin sheets of styrene to overlay the holes instead of filling them up....I find this method easier...Did this for all of the holes except for the screw hole on the round bar below the barrel...Still went with filling for that one....Then I gave the whole blaster a coat of Krylon Grey primer before painting on the various colors...I used Krylon Oil Rubbed Bronze for the dark parts, Marabu matt gold for the scope mounts, Tamiya TS-38 gun metal for the body and Marabu gloss silver for the prongs....The burnt look was achieved by rubbing Tamiya Weathering Master kit....For the barrel clamps, I used aluminium foil tape instead of painting.....It gives a much more realistic metal feel to the blaster....
Besides the paintjob, there were two mods that I had to do to improve the overall look of the blaster....First is to mod the scope...The stock scope has no lenses on either ends (a big no-no!) and has a lighted targeting sight placed at the centre....I made two mock lenses...For the front, I used dark solar film to overlay a piece of round clear plastic and glued in place....for the rear, I used a round clear lens instead...This is to allow the targetting sight to still be visible...
The next mod was to come up with the missing scope mount leg....The Amban blaster scope should have two scope legs but the Nerf blaster has only one to allow the priming slider to slide forward....This missing leg bothers me right from the beginning and I have been thinking how to do it and still allow the blaster to shoot....So in the end I came up with a simple solution by fabricating the scope leg out of 5mm PVC board and simply jamming it in between the scope and blaster body.....This piece is removable to allow the blaster to shoot but most times, it would be just for display and it can stay in place....May not be the best solution so do share if you have other ideas....."

Got a glimpse of the Partisan base, and that made me take out my Partisan X-Wing diorama once again for a photoshoot with a better camera....Hope to complete my Partisan A-Wing diorama soon and probably also work on a Partisan Y-Wing and AT-ST....

The polarized blue lens is made by layering tinted blue plastic sheet over a clear plastic card which has been pasted over with mirror automotive solar film...."

IG-12 By PsyFoolRulez Customz

I think IG-12 is done....Painted the correct colors (I think) and added several scratchbuilt details based on screengrabs.....New neck (a stack of alternate sized washers), shoulder armours (styrene), back details (styrene), back hoses and painted all the eyes white (memory wiped)...I had to sacrifice the Black Series Grogu as there is no way to fit him into the driver's cab with the bulky robe sculpt....So I cut him up, repositioned the head and arms so that he can sit inside properly...I can easily get a replacement Grogu (saw the two pack with Mando and Ice Spider on sale)....He can be taken out of IG-12 if needed to pose Grogu outside of the droid...The Grogu stand-in I'm using now is from the Mission Fleet series which has a nice Grogu sculpt too but no articulation....Next is to take out my street diorama to take some shots of IG-12 and Grogu....

Saesee Tiin's Jedi Star Fighter By PsyFoolRulez Customz

Completed Saesee Tiin's Jedi Star Fighter conversion requested by a friend......This is my 2nd such conversion....The first was Ahsoka Tano's Jedi Star Fighter I did a while back...

The masking of the Jedi symbol was a bit tricky, similar to the Ahsoka's ship...But the oitcome is quite worth all the effort!
