Castlevania: Nocturne, a new Netflix animated series, is officially in production.

Castlevania: Nocturne follows Richter, a descendant of the Belmont family, popularized in the iconic Symphony of Night and Blood of Rondo Castlevania games.

The series is led by showrunner Kevin Kolde and Creator/Writer Clive Bradley and produced by Project 51 Productions with production services provided by Powerhouse Animation.

Back in June 2022, Netflix released an announcement trailer for the new Castlevania animated series, Castlevania: Nocturne.  This series will feature Richter Belmont and Maria Renard, from the Symphony of the Night and Blood of Rondo Castlevania games.  Today, Netflix dropped the first teaser promotional poster for the new series with the premiere date of September 28th.  Among the poster and release date, the streaming service announced that a teaser trailer will drop tomorrow.

Netflix has announced the renewal of CASTLEVANIA: NOCTURNE for a second season, following its debut on September 28th, 2023.

The series, based on the classic Konami video game series, is the next installment of the CASTLEVANIA universe, picking up 300 years after the end of the original CASTLEVANIA series, which ran for four seasons on Netflix. The show is produced by Project 51 Productions and Powerhouse Animation, with Sam Deats and Adam Deats sharing directing duties.

The first season reached Netflix's Top 10 English TV List during the week of October 1 and also reached the Top 10 in 40 countries.

Creator/Showrunner/Writer Clive Bradley and Showrunner Kevin Kolde expressed their gratitude to the fans for their support and excitement to bring more Castlevania: Nocturne and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont.

The second season will continue the story of France, 1792, during the height of the French Revolution, where Richter Belmont, the last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, is sought out by Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, to lead the resistance against the counter-revolutionary aristocracy and their alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah.
