McFarlane Toys DC Super Powers Tribute 5" Line Revealed?!?

Recommended Posts

There have been overseas listings circulating the Internet for some time now suggesting McFarlane Toys was going to be launching some kind of DC 5" line using the DC Super Powers name which most remember from the classic Kenner line. Well now it would seem images have popped up online for one of the figures in that line which does appear to be a tribute to those DC figures of old. Since McFarlane has yet to even officially confirm these are coming and I don't know what the original source of these images are, we can only assume at this time these images are legit.

On the back we can see Batman, Superman as well as a Batwing and Supermobile featured as other products in this line which have also been seen on the overseas distributors lists. Hopefully McFarlane will soon officially announce these with full details soon.

Oh. At the moment this has my attention, if it is something with more than 5 POA and if it respects the original line up I may give it a try.

All of the original Super Powers figures had more than 5 poa 😛

Seems like the image was taken down. Sounds like it was a super powers-esque Darkseid in modern attire with some vehicles shown on the cardback...? If these match perfectly in scale with the original figures,I would most likely be getting them. Depends on who they make too.

I'm so confused by what I'm seeing. Why is it Darkseid's New 52 design instead of his classic design? Why are there 5 points of articulation instead of seven? Why is the Batwing deliberately blue, misproportioned, and less detailed and accurate than the ToyBiz vehicle we had as kids? Is this really what most DC collectors want these days?  I just... don't get it.
