The first official teaser has been released for 'Lightyear,' the new Disney/Pixar movie about the legendary Space Ranger who inspired the iconic Buzz Lightyear toy.

The sci-fi action-adventure presents the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, now voiced by Chris Evans, the hero who inspired the toy -- introducing the legendary Space Ranger who would win generations of fans.

'Lightyear' is scheduled for a June 17th, 2022 release.

Shown below are a couple of new movie 5" Lightyear figures coming from Mattel. Shown are the XL-01 Buzz Lightyear and Buzz Lightyear & Sox figures. Each one will cost $9.97 each and be available at places like Walmart.

Thanks to Dan the Pixar Fan we have a look at a number of new products coming from Mattel for the new Lightyear movie which hits theaters on June 17th, 2022.

The line which is primarily geared towards kids will include 5" figures and vehicles, along with some larger scale 12ish" stuff. Oh and for the younger kids they will be doing stuff in the IMAGINEXT line.
 

 

For the 5" figures look for Fremont, Mo Morrison, Izzy Hawthorne, Buzz Lightyear XL-01, Buzz Light Year with Sox and Regular Buzz Lightyear. There will also be a Deluxe "Mission Equipped Buzz Light Year and the "Blast And Battle" XL-15 vehicle with Buzz Lightyear figure.

The larger scale figures will see a number of different Buzz figures along with Zurg. In the IMAGINEXT line you will see things like Lift And Launch Star Command set along with the XL-15 and a variety of figures to go along with them.

Finally for you plush fans look for Sox.

Shown below are new Class Collector figures for the upcoming Disney Pixar Lightyear movie from Mattel. These figures are said to be around 6.75" tall and feature around 24 points of articulation. These figures are currently available for pre-order on Amazon. The figures cost $22 each and due out in June.

Today, Disney+ revealed plans to stream Disney and Pixar's "Lightyear" beginning August 3, 2022. A new spot celebrating the upcoming launch is now available. "'Lightyear' looks amazing on the big screen, of course, but we are so excited to bring it to Disney+," said Angus MacLane, who helmed the film. "We devoted years of our lives to this film and we are so proud of it. We want to share it with as many people as possible. Disney+ not only gives more fans an opportunity to see 'Lightyear,' it gives us all the means to see it again and again."
