So I'm a little out of touch.  But where is this alley viper from?  I thought alley ciders had the motorcycle helmets and vests.

Not sure what you mean exactly by from but they were introduced in the original ARAH toyline towards the end of the line when Hasbro strarted getting neon happy. They didnt appear in the cartoon until the final DIC season which overall was pretty crappy.

As a matter of fact it was like two years before Hasbro decided to put neon colors on EVERYTHING... I remember seen Alley Viper and feeling like wow this figure is so different and shiny colors, I like it... The rest of the 89 line was darker colors... Frag Viper and Night Viper were also from the same year!😃👍

It's true Hasbro hasn't said when the BAT and Viper would be released, however if you look at the leaked list of figures for the first half of 2022 you will notice March and May have no figures listed for release. Since they are already showing these now, I would think March would be more likely than May for releasing them. Right now however a lot of dates are in flux with all the shipping problems so its hard to really say for sure when anything will come out.

January 2022
-Deluxe Croc Master with crocodile

February 2022
-Storm Shadow
-Spirit With Freedom
-Cobra Officer

April 2022
-Tomax
-Xamot
-Stalker

June 2022
-Crimson Guard
-Zarana
-Dusty

-Cobra Viper And Viper Officer 2-pack

July 2022
Unknown crossover type figure similar to Fortnite Snake-Eyes

Target exclusives will now be themed Tiger Force vs Python Patrol.

June 2022 Target Exclusives
-Outback
-Python Viper
-Python B.A.T.

Thanks, Okay yeah I would say from the looks of this schedule, that would seem like a reasonable thought, probably won't be long before they go up for pre-order, I'm sure they will likely be released potentially earlier, however everything is so tentative right now, with the distribution issues.

A new package image for the G.I. Joe Classified B.A.T. figure from Hasbro surfaced on social media late last night which gives us another look at the figure that Hasbro first revealed last weekend during Pulse-Con. The figure is number 33 in the line.

As we first reported earlier this week, both the B.A.T. and the Alley Viper that was officially revealed during Hasbro's "1027" event should be general releases in the line, though Hasbro has yet to officially confirm that.

As for when these figures will be released, that is less clear as release dates for many products seem to be in-flux due to all the shipping delays going on in the world. Right now its looking like this is how things will go:

-Deluxe Croc Master #38

-Storm Shadow #35
-Spirit #36
-Cobra Officier #37

-B.A.T. #33
-Cobra Allery Viper #34

Places like our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com have the Croc Master listed with an April 2022 release and the Storm Shadow, Spirit and Cobra Officer figures with a July release.

I am making an assumption the Alley Viper will be figure #34 in the line. The number on these figures seem to be in reverse of how they will actually be released. Assuming the release dates BBTS has listed for the first 5 figures hold, I would say we can expect to see the B.A.T. and Alley Viper hit in August, likely officially going up for pre-order sometime next month in November.

So just to sum up, I wouldn't consider the actual release dates of these figures to be set in stone at this point, but I do believe this is the order in which they will be released next year.

Oh the B.A.T  looks amazing, so does the Alley-Viper. Since Target took the pre-order money off my card (it's just pending until it comes out) I can't wait a lil longer to preorder these are maybe wait til August. Want two B.A.T. and at least one Alley-Viper. For future characters, I think the S.A.W. Viper would be great, Frag Viper for getting some grenades, Zombie Viper because yes I loved them but maybe it's time for some water based. Eel or Hydro Viper maybe. Another Cobra agent maybe Wild Weasel.

I'm not that knowledgeable about the GI Joe line...I see that at some point they put the neon colors on, but what was the reason for orange and blue camo color scheme? I read that they're COBRA's answer to police S.W.A.T. units, and they specialize in inner-city invasion. But what's the orange and blue association with alleys?

I don't think there is any. I'm sure they just wanted something with rad colors that would stand out at a Toys R Us or at a grocery store toy aisle, and bright orange and blue seemed good because it was 1989 and Neon hadn't caught on yet.
Either that or somebody was a big Mets fan.

Thanks. Yeah it seems bizarre. I mean I've done my share of lurking in alleys (really, who amongst us hasn't) and I never recalled seeing lots of orange and blue on the walls. If they were gonna go "urban camo" seems grays/blacks/rust would be more fitting. But really, I'm just digging that flip visor and the shield!
